Overview
Confidencial combines sensitive data discovery, selective encryption, and AI data protection for companies that manage high value information. It helps with maintaining control when protected content is shared with internal or external users. However, its extensive design may make it less suitable for small businesses with simple security needs.

Confidencial Features
Discover
The software scans cloud storage, collaboration platforms, email systems, endpoints, and AI pipelines to locate sensitive information. Classification runs at field level in more than 40 file formats, analyzing document content, and not just the filenames or metadata. Findings map automatically to HIPAA, GDPR, PCI-DSS, CCPA, and GLBA, and the output includes a sensitive file inventory and financial exposure scoring.
Confidencial Shield
Persistent file level protection is applied by Shied at the word, field, paragraph, page, or full document level. It connects to S3, SharePoint, OneDrive, Azure Blob, Box, and on premises servers and can use classification data from Microsoft Purview, Varonis, BigID, or Discover. Businesses can encrypt, tokenize, redact, delete, or archive protected data, while the encryption keys are managed by the customers.
Confidencial AI Guard
Sensitive data entering AI systems is protected by AI guard at ingestion, with access controlled at retrieval and every logged interaction. The module covers RAG pipelines, fine-tuning workflows, copilots, and agentic systems. It also connects with vector databases including Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma, and Qdrant. Encrypted spans leave the surrounding context readable. It allows vector matching and model workflows to continue while sensitive content remains protected.
Confidencial Exchange
Three workflows make up Exchange: send, request, and sign. Large files can be shared with controls such as view only mode, download blocking, forwarding restrictions, watermarks, and expiry dates. Reusable intake forms collect PII, PHI, contracts, and financials with data encrypted client side before uploading. E-signature keeps contracts in the customer’s own cloud, and external recipients need no account.
Confidencial Pipeline
Sitting inline in existing file workflows, Pipeline intercepts documents received through API call, folder watch, or application event. An NLP engine identifies PII, PHI, financial data, and custom entities, and assigns confidence score to its findings. Detected content is encrypted, reduced, or tokenized at the entity level. The processing speed stays under one second for each document.
Confidencial Migrate
Encryption happens inside the source store before any transfer begins, preventing plaintext files from being transferred. Supported sources and destinations include S3, Azure Blob, SharePoint, OneDrive, NetDocs, On-premises network drives, Box, and Spaces. Folder hierarchy is preserved; transfers run once or on a schedule, and protected policies remain associated with each file.
