“GitGuardian saves you

Pros

I can work on private repositories easy. The interface is easy for checking who made changes and assigning tasks to users. The Teams feature is great and seamless.

Cons

I cannot seem to find the auto patch button or how to add a new commit option.

Pros

I like the fast response when I make mistakes in my commit like exposing authentication keys or other secure information. The app is simple and works in the background without me even realizing it. The integration was as easy as login in with my GitHub details. I use it regular or more accurately, its always running without me needing to interact. I can't comment on customer support because I have not needed to reach out yet.

Cons

The UI does not quite meet expectations. My colleagues and friends find all the icons and symbols in the UI a bit confusing.

Pros

I've been using GitGuardian for my college project, and the UX is smart. My project focus on security so I understand how crucial this is and GitGuardian is a great alternative to other opensource products. I initially face a problem but I got enough support to help me resolve it.

Cons

They could improve their payment plans to offer more flexibility for all types of developers.

Pros

Over the past six months it has been incredibly effective in protecting our tokens and encryption data from attacks which has given us solid cybersecurity. The easy integration with GitHub made it easy to work with and saved us a lot amount of time.

Cons

Everything has been going well except for the payment plan. The integration with GitHub has been smooth but the pricing has been a bit too high for us.

GitGuardian has been incredibly helpful and I have not encountered any issues with it.

I think the UI could be made a little more intuitive as it can sometimes tough be to figure out what leaks it has detected and where I need to fix them especially in a stressful moment.

It is quite efficient in detecting potential password leaks within Github limits. Without GitGuardian's alerts I would have missed several errors I made which could have caused major security issues.

So far I have not come across any problems worth noting in gitguardian.

I believe having more detailed control over which repositories and files are tracked would be a useful feature.

I cannot say I dislike anything at the moment. It has been useful and not too difficult to understand how it works.

There really is not anything to dislike though some advanced features are only available with the Business and Enterprise plans.

Pros

First off the user interface is fantastic simple and visually appealing. The email alerts ensure that I am notified whenever confidential credentials might be exposed in my code keeping my software secure and pinpointing the source of leaks.

Cons

I have not encountered any negative aspects while using Gitguardian. It has been quite helpful and I do not have any complaints.

There is not much to criticize. It has been a lifesaver and I cannot imagine what I would do without it.

The best feature of gitguardian is its ability to detect secrets by analyzing string entropy rather than relying on regex patterns. This helps find database passwords and other sensitive information that do not follow a predictable pattern which GitHubs security tools cannot do.

Cons

I cannot think of anything major. It did take me a while to fully grasp the billing model though.

It is simple to use and effectively covers the entire security gap.

There are a few minor issues with the UI and UX but nothing major. Sometimes it is difficult to tell what is currently in progress.

The UI can be a little challenging to navigate because there is so much information. For example, I find it difficult to figure out how to exclude certain repositories from the scans.

GitGuardian is extremely simple to set up and use. I love how easily it analyzes GitHub repositories and notifies me if commits contain sensitive information.

Cons

The free Team pricing requires some manual support but it is not that big of a deal.
