It's a simple product that doesn't require any training. You can easily set it up and configure everything yourself. Adding a new device via the web is simple and you can deploy apps directly from Apple Business Manager to your iPads remotely. If you need to change the Wi-Fi password, you just update it in Jamf Now and push it out to all the relevant devices at once. The dashboard gives you a complete overview of all your devices, showing their last connection time, current iOS version and model. You can also create blueprints for different types of devices.

Cons

The new price feels a bit high for what you get especially when you compare it to Jamf Pro which offers more features for a similar cost.

I liked that the platform was pretty user-friendly but the main reason I chose them was their support. They always answered the phone and a technician would help me right away.

Customer support basically doesn't exist for Jamf Now anymore. They don't answer the phone and have split up their teams so you get directed to Jamf Pro support. But when they answer, they can't help you because they don't handle Jamf Now. So you're pretty much on your own......

“Ideal MDM for smaller businesses”

I love how simple and modern the interface is and everything looks so clean, which makes it really pleasant to use.

Cons

I get frustrated when certain features aren't available and there's no way to customize or work around them.

Connecting with Apple Business Manager is very simple and I really appreciate how easy it is for both techy and non-techy team members to use. The deployment process was smooth and it's easy to hand over management to non-IT staff after setting things up.

Cons

I really wish there was an easier way to upgrade to Jamf Pro from this version. The team says they're working on it but we need this solution sooner rather than later!

Jamf is easy to set up for some basic mobile device management.

It's very basic and lacks a lot of features which puts it at a disadvantage compared to other more fully-featured products.

The advanced functionality just isn't there when you need it, it's frustrating limitation.

Some functions are a bit limited. It would be much more powerful if it were combined with Jamf Pro.

We loved how we could control, manage and update software on all our devices which kept everything secure and up-to-date.

We've run into some limitations with Jamf Now that aren't an issue in the upgraded Jamf Pro. We think they could add more features to the Now version.

Their customer support has been amazing! Their chat feature lets me reach out instantly and get quick answers. Since I'm new to device management, this was a huge help. The support team is super knowledgeable and always there to assist me with any questions.

One thing that really bothers me is not being able to rename devices once they're set up. When I first connected everything, I named the devices after the users, which seemed logical at the time. But now when someone returns their device, I'm stuck with names like "Bob," even though Bob doesn't have it anymore. There's no way to change it to something more generic, so I have to mentally keep track of who actually has which device.

Pros

Managing our field devices has never been easier. Everything is kept updated and organized in one place, so tracking is a piece of cake. Setting up new devices and onboarding them is really simple too.

Cons

The only downside we face is not being able to see the exact location of our Apple devices when they haven't checked in. But honestly, this is more of an Apple problem than a Jamf issue.

Pros

UI is clean and logical, making it super easy to find everything. Setting up devices is simple and the auto-enrollment feature for new devices made rolling this out across our network fast. I was also pleasantly surprised that I could include mobile platforms too!

Cons

The pricing structure really gets out of hand once you need additional features. The costs seem to multiply instead of scale reasonably. Moving from JAMFNow to their broader product suite isn't financially realistic for most businesses and the path forward isn't clear. While it's fine for small companies, I'm not sure the scalability justifies the cost compared to alternatives like InTune.

Setting up devices is incredibly quick thanks to the automated enrollment with Apple Business Manager, everything's good to go right out of the box.

Cons

The integration with Apple Business Essentials for AppleCare support just isn't there and that's a big limitation for our setup.

Getting started with basic MDM management on my iPad was instant, there was no long setup process at all.

I'd love to see the full feature set available for smaller deployments.

The deployment process is so easy and it's perfect for small to medium businesses that need to organize their device and access management. The scalability is fantastic too and it grows right alongside your business needs. I love how the dashboard gives me a clear overview and I can create device blueprints and push apps and settings wirelessly during onboarding.

Cons

The advanced controls feel limited and I've noticed the documentation doesn't cover some features very well. That said, support gets back to you pretty quickly and the community usually has the answers you're looking for.
