“improved our workflow!”
Pros
As a SysAdmin running a hybrid environment, I have always struggled to get a clear picture of what's really happening inside Active Directory. As the native logs are very hard to sort through and even harder to turn into something useful. But once we deployed ManageEngine ADAudit Plus the improvement in visibility was obvious right away.
Cons
There is a lot of power in the tool but a few areas could be polished to make it more user friendly. Like it can be a real memory-heavy application. Since it handles a huge volume of real-time data, it needs a properly resourced server to perform well. If it is installed on a VM with only the minimum requirements, the web console tends to slow down especially during busy periods or when pulling large historical reports. The default sensitivity is also quite high. So without spending decent time in the first week adjusting alert thresholds, you can end up with an inbox full of notifications for normal, harmless activity. Also an intelligent auto-tuning option based on typical behavior patterns would make a big difference. And yes the interface is feature-rich which is helpful but it also means some settings are tucked away several layers deep. At times tracking down a specific niche option takes longer than it should. A cleaner, more modern search function within the settings area would definitely save time.

“Tracks activity remotely well”
Pros
Remote access has been a big advantage and the platform does a great job of helping organizations keep track of both user and system activity. It is also very useful for spotting threats and meeting compliance needs especially with capabilities such as logon and logoff tracking, file access monitoring and user behavior analytics. Plus I like that its auditing coverage goes beyond on-prem systems, with support for cloud environments like Azure AD as well as a broad mix of platforms and devices.
Cons
Honestly I haven't run into any real drawbacks. It helps organizations monitor user and system activities, detect threats and meet compliance requirements with features like logon/logoff tracking, file access monitoring and user behavior analytics. On top of that it expands auditing into cloud environments such as Azure AD and works across a wide range of platforms and devices.
