“Must-have IOC with risk scores and API integration

Pros

The user interface is quite amazing, everything is pretty easy to search and it comes with powerful advanced queries. Plus the newly added AI feature is a real time saver when researching. The browser extension is excellent too and I use it every day alongside our other cybersecurity tools. It is easy to integrate and the Sandbox Analysis feature works great for detaching malware, analyzing suspicious URLs, interacting with sessions and providing detailed insights.

Cons

It has a bit of a learning curve and requires some initial setup and adjustments but the account management team was really helpful. Also the cost is quite high especially with additional modules and seats and the APIs are also pricey. However I must say the value is significant. One other downside is that the Leaked Credentials alerts generate quite a few false positives. Some may be concerned about the recent acquisition by MasterCard.

Pros

Well it helps keep us secure by offering reliable Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) for proactive threat hunting. These carefully vetted IOCs allow our security team to identify potential threats early, strengthening our defenses and enhancing our overall cybersecurity.

Cons

I have not had any bad experiences so far.

It offers in-depth insights and an easy to use interface. It is a cloud-based platform that provides comprehensive intelligence from understanding adversaries to securing infrastructure. Plus the Recorded Future identity module gives us good visibility into account compromises.

Cons

The licensing module is pretty expensive and I feel like the customer support could definitely be improved.

Well I find the portal a bit confusing and overwhelming at times.

Pros

The platform is easy to use and fairly simple to integrate with other systems. It excels at making large amounts of data accessible and digestible. Customer support is outstanding as they offer updates about new features, advice on optimizing our current licenses and tailored suggestions based on our activity and threats. Unlike other vendors they are not just focused on selling more to us.

Cons

There have been some issues we faced connecting to other platforms. And even though the support team is mostly available to help but some issues still continue.

I really like their dataset and how they profile based on Intent and Capabilities.

Like any company working with vast amounts of data, we have concerns here too like how it handles sensitive information. And the use of AI and data analytics also raises questions about privacy and the ethics of monitoring and analyzing data from multiple sources.

The vulnerability information is highly valuable and I also love being able to search for various types of queries in one platform.

Cons

This is not exactly a complaint but I noticed that it can take a bit of time to get used to where everything is located.

Pros

Recorded Future is proven to be the best for our team as it allows us to extend and monitor intelligence sources across the web, proactively identifying threats. It helped us spot a compromised third party early enabling a quick response and risk mitigation. Also it frequently alerts us to brand misuse, typosquatting and other early signs of attacks we'd otherwise miss. The support is excellent too and the SaaS deployment is easy with simple integration into other services.

Cons

It can be overwhelming for new users as it has a lot of information to process. This is not necessarily a bad thing but it can take some time to get familiar with.

I feel lost at times as there are a lot of features and a huge menu of options.

Well the ability to track global issues and automatically generate reports using AI is proven highly beneficial for us.

Recorded Future is the gold standard for threat intelligence. It has saved us at least 50% of the time spent on threat hunting, vulnerability management, incident triage, phishing emails and more like everything a SOC looks for!

An amazing platform that has the latest intelligence available on most topics. The support team is also very helpful which makes it easy for us to navigate all the features.

The alerting system is a bit complex and could be simpler to use. I am saying this from a user's perspective.

The CVE scoring system is very useful. We use Recorded Future daily. It is easy to use as just input the CVE into the search bar to see the available threat intelligence. Also it integrates well with email alerts. We meet with RF support every two weeks to review our MSSP findings.

I feel like their AI feature needs more updates before it is fully usable.

One thing I have noticed is that the website and search function can be a bit slow and laggy at times.

They have a dedicated team in Thailand for customer support which is fantastic. Plus their customer success team is also excellent as they always come up with a solution when I contact them with something.
