Everything is great but the customer service for the product is not awesome and the response time from customer support is useful.

The application features are excellent and have improved our systems since installation. It is easy to navigate and practical. The email protection and website validation are fantastic.

It is quite expensive and uses a lot of system resources which makes things a bit slow. They now have many features which can sometimes be hard to understand.

Pros

Symantec Endpoint Encryption is a genuine investment. It can be used effectively even on older Windows operating systems. In some forums, it may consume a lot of CPU and RAM resources. If the computer is old, it becomes challenging to operate, especially with applications that also require RAM. However since Symantec Endpoint Protection is lightweight, this issue does not apply. Symantec has done an excellent job with its centralized management portal. Once the interface is understood, it gets better. Policy management could be improved but it covers the essentials. Email notifications are crucial for me and this product handles that well. It does not matter if the function was resolved automatically administrators always receive notifications.

Cons

Tech support can be disappointing at times especially if the issue is not directly related to the agent. Entry related issues can take time to resolve especially since Broadcom took over. The licensing structure and costs are high. The differences between competitors make choosing the product more complicated. Symantec needs to clarify its pricing strategy and the regular updates are not that frequent.

“Unnoticeable to the end user

Pros

This software does not bother the end user. It has been installed on my computer for nearly two years, and the only times I noticed it was when it alerted me about potential dangers.

Cons

The interface is a bit confusing and it may take end users a while to figure out what to do.

Symantec Endpoint Protection is among the most trusted security software globally. It is simple to install and use. Our organization has relied on it for a long time. Our IT team maintains complete control over software installations, and all scheduled scans and updates happen automatically without disturbing users. It prevents threats, unauthorized applications and intrusions ensuring data safety.

Cons

There have been complaints about license management. Plus it offers maximum support on Windows with only a few features on Mac. Remote management needs Internet Explorer which can be slow. It does not do well at detecting phishing sites and its reporting feature is not as strong compared to competitors like Bitdefender GravityZone Elite.

I use their email encryption and it has consistently worked well. The simple term in the subject line for sending it makes it easy to work with.

Sometimes end users have a hard time reviewing the software or it goes to their spam folder but that seems to be a common issue.

I would say BitLocker is best suited for a modern workstation environment and works well with Windows 10.

It can encrypt anything across various messaging methods. Once set up, it becomes virtually transparent. It is always a plus when software does not require a struggle to accomplish tasks.

Setup can sometimes be a bit amusing. Also reactivating expired keys can be tricky. That said I would not trade it for anything.

In the future everything will likely be stored on some server, often referred to as the cloud. The challenge is how to keep your most sensitive secrets or business assets secure if they cannot be physically kept offline. Our organization experienced a hack about two and a half years ago and since then has implemented significant security measures including this one. Since then, we have had zero security threats. Though I do not know the science behind it, Symantec is a trusted name in this industry. They also provide on premise solutions.

I really do not have any cons to mention about this service or software. They have supported us from onboarding through daily security issues.

This software is perfect for our environment because it is lightweight and essentially invisible to users.

Cons

Managing it effectively requires the SEP Manager component which leaves much to be desired. It is slow and awkward to navigate.

Symantec Endpoint Protection has caused corrupted folders and files on our system. Frequent malware intrusions corrupt the data making it unusable. We have also noticed a slowdown in my system after installing this software.
