“Honestly, this software is just awful
Pros
I can't find any benefits when comparing this to other lighting software options.
Cons
The user interface feels like it's stuck in the early 90s and seems really outdated compared to what's available today. When I'm working on larger projects and need to recalculate changes, the wait times are painfully slow, almost like waiting for dial-up internet to load. I've used other lighting software like DiaLux and Visual Lighting and honestly, they're way more advanced and capable than this tool. I'm not sure why some people consider it an industry standard when there are much better alternatives out there. The whole experience just feels frustrating and behind the times.

“Simple and effective lighting tool
Pros
It's really easy to figure out the lighting levels in any space and setting up the calculations is simple.
Cons
The interface feels dated and could really use a refresh.

“Most comprehensive lighting calculation tool
Pros
I appreciate the functionality and how much freedom I have when customizing fixture models. The interface is user friendly and the output results are really clear and easy to interpret. Overall, this is the top choice in its category.
Cons
Building 3D models can be very challenging and takes forever. I usually create them in CAD first, then import but honestly, it would be so much more convenient if I could just do everything directly in the software instead of switching between programs.

“Best lighting design software
Pros
I like how AGi32 offers multiple perspectives on lighting designs with impressive detail and adjustable parameters that hold up under thorough examination. While other lighting design tools come close, they just dont match the professional-quality output this software delivers.
Cons
The depth this software offers requires serious commitment to really master all its design capabilities. The tutorials could definitely be more interactive though.

“Solid Tool for Photometric Work
Pros
The photometric features are outstanding and really user-friendly. I love how smooth the rendering process is. We're getting much more accurate results than before.
Cons
Sometimes the application shuts down unexpectedly without showing any error messages. Installing this software requires a pretty high-end system configuration. The commands dont always get recognized or accepted properly.

“My go to for Photometric Calculations
Pros
The photometric rendering capabilities really impressed me and I'd struggled with rendering on other platforms before but this handles both interior and exterior lighting scenarios beautifully.
Cons
One thing I notice is that it can slow down during rendering sometimes which can be frustrating when you're trying to get work done quickly.

“Reliable solution!
Pros
I really appreciate that this is the go-to standard for lighting software in the US. Adding DWG files to designs is incredibly simple which saves me a lot of time. The page builder is also fantastic and it lets me create customized reports that my clients can confidently present to their end users.
Cons
The 32-bit limitation really holds back rendering performance, particularly when I'm working on multi-story projects. For those more complex applications, I usually have to switch over to DiaLux instead.

“My fav software!
Pros
I've been working with this software for about 18 years now and honestly, it just keeps getting better. Once you learn the ropes, everything flows pretty smoothly. The accuracy is spot-on and the output always looks professional. One thing that really excited me was seeing some classic features make a comeback, being able to swap luminaire IES files in the lum def window again is fantastic! I genuinely missed that capability. But what really sets this apart is the customer support team and they're absolutely incredible and easily the best I've encountered in any software company.
Cons
The newest version keeps crashing when I'm working in the luminaire definition window. It seems to happen if I click around the table too much instead of using TAB to use and it gets worse when there are lots of groups in the project. We rely heavily on groups for our continuous linear runs but this version doesn't handle multiple groups well which is really frustrating since they make our workflow so much smoother.

“Great Software with Room to Grow
Pros
I can build models directly in the software or bring in existing ones. I haven't encountered any modeling task that this tool couldn't handle yet.
Cons
The hotkey setup isn't as user-friendly as I'd hoped for.

“Excellent Graphics Performance Tool
Pros
The 3D rendering capabilities are incredibly helpful and I can visualize mounting heights and light placement just like in Revit. Setting up models is simple and user-friendly. There are tons of calculation options that make everything more realistic. The project manager feature does a great job cleaning up CAD backgrounds and the IES file editing is outstanding with plenty of selection options for different requirements.
Cons
The keyboard shortcuts are missing which is pretty annoying. The calculation placement tool isn't user-friendly at all. They really need to add shortcuts and clean up the background when setting up models. Also, the printer functionality needs some serious work.
