“Powerful 3D Analysis Capabilities
Pros
I'm impressed by how comprehensive the three-dimensional mapping capabilities are and the spatial development features for data models really stand out. When it comes to graphic representations for 3-D mapping, this is honestly one of the best tools I've seen on the market.
Cons
The interface could use some improvement. Adding more features and making it easier to navigate between sections would really help newcomers get the hang of this tool.

“Top GIS Development Platform
Pros
I really appreciate how it incorporates the older Esri GIS system alongside 3D visuals that combination makes it stand out from other options in this space.
Cons
The training materials could use some work and aren't always as relevant as they should be

“Solid Plugin with Good Features
Pros
It works smoothly as an ArcView plugin for slope analysis and makes generating shapefiles from the data really smooth.
Cons
The interface isn't very user-friendly and takes some getting used to.

“Versatile Tool with Great Utility
Pros
I'm really impressed with the 3D capabilities this extension offers for analyzing spatial relationships across different data models. The range of analytical tools it provides is extensive and genuinely useful for my land management work. Being able to both quantify and visualize these dynamics has opened up so many possibilities from conducting viewshed analysis to creating TIN surfaces and generating topographic data. The evaluation features are particularly strong and handle complex three-dimensional datasets really well.
Cons
Nothing comes to mind that I'd change about this tool.

“Essential 3D Modeling Tool for ArcGIS
Pros
I like how flexible this tool is, you can use it in both ArcMap and ArcScene depending on your needs. Creating 3D surfaces is simple whether you're working with digital elevation models (DEM) or triangulated irregular network (TIN) from elevation points or contour lines. Once you've built your surface, there are tons of analysis options like generating contour lines, profile graphs, aspect, slope and hill shade calculations. The real power shows when you switch to ArcScene though. The extrusion tool lets me build 3D maps of buildings in my study area and I can add 3D symbols, explore different viewing angles or even create animations. It's pretty impressive what you can accomplish with all these features.
Cons
The main issue isn't really with the 3D Analyst itself but when you're generating 3D surfaces in raster format, file sizes get huge and everything slows to a crawl especially problematic for large area projects. Working with building extrusions in ArcScene is pretty limiting too. The appearance options and material applications feel basic compared to what you get with City Engine.

“Helpful classroom software tool
Pros
I can combine different maps and datasets, once you get the hang of it, the workflow becomes pretty user-friendly. It's great being able to analyze relationships between various data layers and create maps for all sorts of projects.
Cons
There's so much functionality packed in that it takes quite a bit of time to figure out how to use everything properly.

“Excellent mapping software overall
Pros
I was skeptical at first, thinking this would be just another mapping tool but wow, the capabilities here really surprised me! The feature set feels almost limitless and I keep discovering new things I can do with it.
Cons
Hard to find anything I genuinely dislike about this tool, which is rare for most software I've used!

“Great for Managing Data
Pros
Working with Lidar data and doing geometric analysis is something I really enjoy and it helps me understand the information more clearly and work more efficiently.
Cons
I can't really think of any major drawbacks with this software, it handles geometric analysis of my Lidar data about as well as I could hope for.
