“Functional but difficult to use
Pros
I love that this tool, you can pay as little as $1 for version updates or around $40 for lifetime access. The power and upgrade potential with all the add-ons is impressive and having multitrack editing capabilities really sets it apart.
Cons
The sheer number of plug-in options is overwhelming - feels like there's thousands to choose from and I can barely wrap my head around most of them. I manage to get by with just the basics, but it's hard not to feel intimidated by all the choices.

“Excellent Audio Production software
Pros
I really enjoy how well it handles mixing audio files and recording multiple tracks across different music genres. Works perfectly on my MacBook Pro too.
Cons
Actually, I can't think of any real downsides to this software. Haven't run into any glitches or issues - everything runs smoothly on my end.

“Smooth Recording with Minor Limitations
Pros
It's super user-friendly for recording and editing soundtracks. It's much easier to pick up compared to Adobe Audition which was a big plus for me. The editing features are simple and don't overcomplicate things, making the whole process smoother.
Cons
Takes a while to figure out if you're new to audio editing.

“Comprehensive Audio Production Suite
Pros
I can record, edit and mix across macOS, Windows and Linux without any issues. Recording is simple, just plug in my keyboard or microphone and I'm ready to go. Importing audio from my hard drive works smoothly. The editing capabilities are comprehensive, letting me cut, trim, stretch, move, drag, drop, transpose, zoom, rename, align and delete audio tracks easily.
Cons
The downside is you'll need to purchase additional recording equipment, which really drives up the overall expense. Also, if your new to audio editing or dont have much technical background, most of the features can be pretty confusing to figure out.

“Fantastic Editor for Just a Dollar
Pros
The multi-track editing here has been incredibly smooth, what took me a year to figure out in Adobe Audition, I picked up in just two weeks. Plus the pricing is unbeatable either grab a single version for $1+ or get lifetime updates for $45. Right when you open it up, there's this "Slide" dropdown that's become my go-to feature. It controls how tracks respond to edits, Ripple mode automatically moves trimmed content forward when you delete or shift material, Slide lets you reposition track pieces without affecting everything else and Lock (my personal favorite) keeps all material locked in place so nothing shifts around when you make changes. That Lock feature alone has sped up my workflow tremendously since I don't have to worry about accidentally messing things up.
Cons
The mixer section is definitely more challenging to navigate compared to the editor. While it offers tons of effects like EQ balancing, compression, and normalization, most of these features aren't free which gets expensive. The sheer number of options can be overwhelming - I'm still trying to figure out the best workflow. I usually end up using Audacity for basic normalization tasks and stick with this for the more stable editing functions.

“Useful but challenging to master
Pros
The basic recording functions are very easy to use which makes getting started easy. I had no trouble figuring it out right away!
Cons
I find it frustrating that while this tool has amazing potential for various applications, actually navigating and using those extra features can be quite challenging.

“Solid Tool with Room for Growth
Pros
I've been using this as my main DAW and it's incredibly powerful for an open-source option. The versatility really stands out and there are tons of plugin choices available. Running it on Linux makes it completely free which is awesome. The Jack Control integration works smoothly especially when paired with live performance kernels for that perfect audio setup.
Cons
The interface feels a bit clunky and could use some tweaking. There's definitely room for improvement when it comes to the inserts and sends functionality.

“Powerful editing software
Pros
I'm really impressed with how many features it has. Being able to mix and edit audio tracks gives me so much flexibility for my projects and it's been a game-changer!
Cons
The interface feels overwhelming when you're just starting out. On Mac, you have to run another program like JackPilot for it to work properly, which is annoying.

“Beginner-Friendly with some limitations
Pros
I've only dabbled in audio recording and mixing, but this software feels like it's built for professionals which is exactly what I was hoping for. It comes packed with features that reflect that professional focus. Learning it has been enjoyable and the interface is surprisingly pleasant to use especially considering how technical the software is.
Cons
Over the years I've run into some compatibility problems that blocked me from accessing certain features, though I'm actually surprised there weren't more issues given how frequently I've switched between different systems and sometimes made them unstable.

“Great DAW with Excellent Value
Pros
It eally impressed me with how capable it is for being completely free. The plugin support is fantastic and it handles VST, Ladspa and lv2 plugins without any issues. What I love most is the flexibility with jack server connectivity for syncing with other apps and hardware, though you can run it standalone too. The mixer routing options are incredibly sophisticated, letting you set up complex send effects and bus configurations. Creating and playing virtual midi instruments works smoothly, and honestly it feels like a complete package with nothing missing. For the price point (free!), it's unbeatable. The Ardroid companion app on Android makes a solid remote control option using OSC.
Cons
The app doesn't include a virtual MIDI keyboard, and the note editor they provide just doesn't cut it as a replacement. When you install it, you get absolutely nothing - no demo tracks, samples, virtual instruments, or effects. It's pretty bare bones without adding external plugins. The Windows version isn't even supported anymore. While it's open source, the free version has this annoying limitation where you cant save plugin presets with your projects, you have to pay once to unlock that basic feature.
