“Architect's essential powerhouse tool
Pros
As an architect in Colombia, I've struggled with software that really slowed down my workflow, spending way too much time learning complicated interfaces and dealing with incredibly long render times. When I found this program, it completely changed how I work and opened up so many new possibilities for creating high quality visualizations and videos. The fact that it's free is incredible and even though the free version doesn't unlock everything, it provides more than enough tools to handle most of my projects effectively.
Cons
I can't access this on just any computer which is pretty limiting.

“Excellent software!
Pros
The navigation here is incredibly simple compared to other tools I've tested. The features are solid and everything feels more natural and realistic than most alternatives. I appreciate how accessible it is for beginners, makes exploring all the functionality really convenient.
Cons
The main drawback is needing a pro account to access the best features. I looked everywhere for an educational discount but couldn't figure out how to get one. Sure, you can use the free version but all the quality materials and models are locked behind the paywall.

“Powerful tool but needs improvement
Pros
I'm really impressed by how fast the real-time rendering works, seeing changes instantly has completely transformed my workflow. The interface is clean, so it was easy to get started. The huge asset library saves me a lot of time when filling scenes. The smooth integration with my other 3D tools is great and the render quality always impresses my clients. Installation was easy and I like that I have access to different software versions. Their email support has been quick and helpful whenever I've run into issues or bugs.
Cons
The materials sometimes look a bit off especially when I need really detailed textures. The asset library is huge but leans too much towards Asian style furniture for my liking. Finding specific items can be frustusing sometimes. I've had a few crashes with newer versions which is annoying when I'm on a deadline. It would be great if they added a snapping feature for precise object placement. But these are minor issues compared to how much time this tool saves me daily.

“Revolutionary Real-Time Rendering Tool
Pros
The rendering quality is absolutely outstanding thanks to the high-performance engine, way better than other real-time programs I've tried. What really stands out is how simple the interface is compared to other complicated platforms, I could start using it right away without any issue. The extensive library of materials and components is incredibly complete and helps achieve much better results. The AI integration takes everything to the next level and improves the output significantly. File importation is also simple and the sync compatibility with other programs I use works easily.
Cons
The only downside is needing a decent graphics card, though most systems already require one anyway.

“Highly recommended platform
Pros
It's easy to use, you can create high-quality renders and virtual walkthroughs really quickly. The builtin materials and models are a nice touch for completing projects. What I generate here integrates smoothly with other parts of my workflow. The guidance is solid, both for learning the interface and troubleshooting issues. I've been using this tool consistently for all my rendering projects because of how user-friendly it is and the quality results it delivers.
Cons
The free basic version comes with human scales that dont really fit every situation even though it does include some extra models

“Outstanding results with simple UI
Pros
D5's user friendly interface makes creating realistic lighting and effects incredibly accessible. While other software can be difficult to learn that demand too much time investment, this tool feels flexible from the start. After just a few renders, I already understood the workflow and could adjust settings to produce high quality results without the usual frustration.
Cons
The main downside is I'm still on the free version and keep eyeing those Pro materials with serious envy! Though honestly, there are plenty of tools here to create custom materials that rival the premium ones. It's wild how underrated this software is, none of my colleagues have even heard of it.

“Rediscovered photorealism with this software
Pros
I had stopped creating photorealistic renderings as an architect because they were incredibly time consuming. When I discovered this software recently, it brought me back into the game. The speed and simplicity are impressive and I get excellent real-time previews while adjusting materials and lighting without endless test renders. Now I can produce stunning results in reasonable timeframes and even give clients interactive walkthroughs before finalizing renders or videos. The scatter tool is fantastic and the photorealism quality is outstanding.
Cons
While the main features keep getting better with regular updates, there's definitely room for improvement in some basic workflow areas. Simple tasks like renaming materials could be much easier and dealing with instances versus unique copies isn't as straightforward as it should be. There's no material history either, once you apply a new material to an object, the previous one just disappears and you can't get it back. Moving objects precisely works but feels slow and clunky. These are all small interface details that don't take away from how powerful this tool is but fixing them would make the workflow so much smoother. It's those little touches that could really make this an essential part of any professional's toolkit.

“My experience with D5
Pros
I've been with this software since its early days and the evolution has been remarkable in such a short timeframe. The new AI features have streamlined my workflow significantly. I can now create atmospheric settings from reference mood images with minimal effort which is a huge time saver. What really stands out is how affordable the membership is compared to other options on the market. It's accessible whether you're a professional or just getting started as a hobbyist. The live sync with Rhino is fantastic for my design process. Being able to iterate quickly and see changes in real-time has been incredibly valuable. This tool has become indispensable in my daily work and I'm excited to see where it goes next.
Cons
I wish there were more templates and features for product level renders especially for jewelry and footwear. The current options feel limited when I'm trying to create detailed presentations for specific product categories and having more specialized tools would really boost the software's versatility.

“Outstanding rendering software choice
Pros
The rendering speed is incredible and I love how simple everything is to use. The real time visuals look absolutely stunning and the lighting effects are so realistic they really bring projects to life. The asset library has everything I need for my architecture work and it's surprisingly affordable compared to other options. Even my midrange GPU handles it without any issues.
Cons
While this tool is excellent, it could really use more advanced material customization options and a bigger asset library. The animation controls feel limited too. One major issue is how much it depends on having a powerful GPU, if your system isn't high-end, you'll struggle with performance. Also frustrating that there's no Mac support which rules out a lot of potential users.

“Consistently Impressive speed and results
Pros
The rendering speed is absolutely incredible and has been a total game-changer for my workflow. I love how intuitive and user-friendly the interface feels, exactly what you want when you're focused on creating. The material presets are very handy and save me tons of time. What really stands out is how this lets me concentrate on my actual projects instead of spending hours tweaking renders in Photoshop afterward. I'm getting amazing results without breaking a sweat. The development team keeps making improvements with each release which is awesome. I've only been using it for 2 months but I'm already blown away and can't wait to see what's coming next.
Cons
The development team could work on better object selection tools and I'd love to see more free models added to the library since I sometimes can't find exactly what I'm looking for.

“Quick Learning with Realistic Results
Pros
I'm constantly impressed by how realistic the results look especially considering the incredible speed when rendering complex scenes. Applying materials is easy and the way it integrates with Revit and Sketchup makes my workflow so much smoother. Updates and relinking geometries happen quickly, plus I can combine multiple sources simultaneously without issues. New employees pick it up easily, which is a huge plus for our team. We rely on this tool daily and it's proven to be our most dependable software whenever we need help, customer support responds fast.
Cons
The only real issue I have is that I wish the license could be permanent instead of requiring annual subscriptions. Other than that, any small problems we've encountered have been easily resolved through forums and customer support, so there aren't any major downsides.

“Best render engine!
Pros
The real-time rendering is amazing and I can't believe how easy it is to use.
Cons
It demands quite a powerful GPU which can lead to preformance issues if your system isn't up to par. It's also Windows-only, so macOS and Linux users are out of luck. Compared to other render engines, it's missing some of the more advanced tools I'd expect. The builtin asset library is pretty limited too and I often have to hunt down external resources to get what I need. Real-time rendering can really tax your system resources and there's definitely a learning curve when it comes to optimizing scenes for real time work.

“Overall good tool!
Pros
Switching from rendering with 3ds Max and Vray to D5 has made things a lot easier for me. It's much simpler to import and update models and the rendering speed has improved a lot. The user interface is really easy to use and the asset library is constantly updated which makes adding things to my renders so much quicker. The system presets for grass, environment and render settings save me a lot of time compared to using Max and Vray. Sometimes I wanted more control but there's always a good workaround with the customization options available.
Cons
It might be more of a specific case but it would be a great feature if I could export assets from the D5 asset library back into my original modeling software. This would be useful for keeping records and sharing with clients who don't have access to It. While the renderer does let me save 3D assets to my local library, the import process only goes one way so far. I've also noticed that when new features are introduced, there can be bugs. While It has suggested temporary fixes or to leave certain features out of the workflow until they're patched, I've always been able to get past any issues thanks to the customer service and D5 tech support being so reachable through email and the forum.
