“Good photoshop substitute”
Pros
Packed with features even on the free plan, Photopea feels like an excellent substitute for the much more expensive Adobe Photoshop.
Cons
A few tools that seem like they should be standard are locked behind a paywall and the ads can sometimes slow the program down.

“handy for urgent edits”
Pros
For last minute adjustments, Photopea is genuinely very practical especially when you're away from your main workstation. Also it is a real advantage when urgent client corrections need to be handled quickly.
Cons
Once files get larger or several projects start piling up, the organization and version tracking still works fairly basic which is a problem. So you have to stay careful to avoid mixing up different exports.

“versatile editor for design work”
Pros
Photopea is an open source photo editor that works very well for improving images and creating marketing assets like banners, business cards and more. And it feels very similar to other paid tools so getting comfortable with it and learning your way around doesn't take much time.
Cons
The only real downside is that you need to pay a small fee if you want to remove the ads on the site but aside from that it is a really a great piece of software.

“handy browser based design tool”
Pros
Using Photopea has been very easy for creating business images and working with templates right in the browser, without needing to install bulky software. Fast customer support and secure payment options also make the overall experience feel reliable and practical.
Cons
template selection and pro level features still do not look as complete as what you get with full desktop design suites. On top of that adding more advanced security or payment-related features would need a bit more focus and refinement.

“The best free editing toolkit”
Pros
One thing that really works in Photopea's favor is how many of its functions and tools feel similar to the most popular editing programs out there, except you get access to them for free.
Cons
A downside is that there's no way to download the software and use it locally. Also it feels like it doesn't have much of its own identity when it comes to unique features.

“allows editing from anywhere”
Pros
It is a fully featured program that works from virtually anywhere and on just about any machine.
Cons
To be honest it is not quite on the same level as Photoshop in every area but considering the price, it's hard to complain.

“full featured editor I enjoy”
Pros
Photopea gives me all the tools I need to edit my photos and put together really nice visuals which I like about it!
Cons
At first the ads were a bit distracting but once I paid the small subscription fee, they were removed.

“Quick edits but slow saving”
Pros
It has been a versatile and user friendly option for quick editing jobs like product photos or social media images, while still keeping high definition and good overall quality.
Cons
The only downside I have noticed is that saving changes can take a while depending on the image size especially if your internet connection isn't very fast.

“great for beginners”
Pros
The fact that it is free is what pulled me toward Photopea especially when I am away from my laptop. I would say it's simple enough even for a complete beginner. Plus it handles the basic editing tools very well and those features are easy enough for just about anyone to use.
Cons
some actions inside the program work a bit slow although that may also be because of how old my computer is or the fact that it probably needs a reboot after an update. Either way it's still smart to save your work often.

“browser based editor”
Pros
Being free and fully accessible online without any installation is a big plus. Photopea also supports PSD, AI, XD and several other file formats which makes it very practical. Also the interface feels a lot like Photoshop so designers can get comfortable with it quickly. It also works on any device as long as there's a browser.
Cons
Since it runs in a browser, it can slow down when working with larger files. The free version also includes ads and they can be a bit distracting while using it.

“has so many useful features”
Pros
Among the tools I have tried, this is the closest thing to Photoshop and it comes packed with a wide range of features to work with.
Cons
At times it can get pretty slow especially while using paint brushes since the brush strokes tend to lag and respond a bit late.

“good tools but weak AI images”
Pros
There is a wide variety of tools to choose from and the interface is fairly simple to use.
Cons
The biggest downside was the text to image feature which felt like the weakest part of the software.

“powerful online image editing”
Pros
Having an online tool for image editing and retouching is really valuable. Also I can access it from anywhere which makes it incredibly convenient.

“photoshop style editing for free”
Pros
Photopea looks almost the same as Photoshop which makes it incredibly convenient and the fact that it's free makes it even better. And since it runs in the cloud, I can access it from anywhere without having to install any software.
Cons
Honestly I don't have any complaints. It has been an excellent alternative to Photoshop for me.

“great online alternative among others”
Pros
Having a free, accessible online alternative to Photoshop is a huge plus. And it gives us a lot of the same kind of editing capability without needing to install anything or pay upfront.
Cons
The downside is that it runs very slowly which is frustrating. It seems like they may have adjusted how data is loaded to manage server costs and because of that only premium users really get the faster experience.

“pretty similar to Photoshop interface”
Pros
One thing I really enjoy about Photopea is how closely its design and interface resemble Photoshop so the tools and features feel familiar and very easy to use.
Cons
The only downside I see with it is that it doesn't offer a downloadable desktop app for offline editing so I am basically forced to stay connected to the internet whenever I want to use it and work on my edits.

“Offered almost everything I needed”
Pros
It offers almost everything Photoshop does without costing anything which is a huge plus. Also the interface is easy to use, being online makes it very convenient to access from anywhere and the ready made templates help speed things up when needed.
Cons
I feel like overall design of the software could be cleaner and more visually appealing. It also has occasional stability issues from time to time.

“Provide browser based editing freedom”
Pros
Photopea has become part of my daily routine and I really can't do without it. Even though I have access to pricier software that can handle the same kind of work, I keep coming back to this tool. Because it is simple to use, supports a wide range of file formats and doesn't take up any storage space on my devices. The biggest advantage is being able to use it on any laptop or computer without paying again or installing anything on each one. I just open it in my browser, pull my files from cloud storage and I can start working from anywhere.
Cons
Of course nothing is perfect and this one is no exception. Every now and then it has trouble opening or displaying certain files correctly. It doesn't happen often but it does happen enough that I sometimes need to look for alternative vectors or different file versions.
