“Does what photoshop does without the price tag

Pros

The value you get for the price is amazing with lots of features, updates roll out regularly and it is packed with tools. Overall I would say it is definitely a solid Photoshop alternative.

Cons

Some tools could be easier to use for example the subject selection is not always accurate. Also I noticed it is missing effects like emboss even though you can get similar results by mixing other tools together.

It has a simple layout and works great on Mac. Editing photos is easy too and tools like object removal come in really handy. Plus I find it affordable and runs pretty smoothly too.

Cons

One limitation we have noticed is how few third-party plugins are available. It is a pretty small selection compared to other platforms.

The best thing about it is that it can do pretty much everything the pricier software can just without the big cost.

I just wish the tutorials were a bit easier to find and access as they could be more front and center.

The design blends well with macOS, plus no subscriptions needed just one purchase. Moreover I like the fact that right-click actions make editing fast.

Well the way some tools are set up like color selection or how tools are stacked on the left by default takes some getting used to. I get that they want a unique identity but reducing these layout differences would help shorten the learning curve.

I really like that it supports importing a bunch of formats including RAW files.

One thing I would love to see is more built-in options directly in the Photos app integration as it's a bit limited right now.

Well I could not believe how affordable Pixelmator is as it has got everything I need for graphic design. And I just hooked it up with my Wacom tablet which works great. Five stars from me.

Editing photos works but it does not feel quite user friendly. Like it gets the job done but could flow better.

This app is packed with everything I need to create graphics. Also it is easier to use than Photoshop and makes learning fun. I use it daily even though I am no expert but I am always learning. Plus the user community is quite helpful. And best part is the just a one-time payment.

Cons

I am not able to edit vector files. A lot of images I use from Depositphotos come as EPS files and there is no easy way to work with them in Pixelmator Pro. Even after trying online converters I still cannot bring them in. Also the feathering tool does not work directly on objects as it only works through masks which are not flexible.

Pros

Pixelmator Pro is a great alternative to Photoshop and similar apps. Also it is easy to pick up and the tutorials are pretty helpful too. I even love how well it's built for Mac.

Cons

Honestly I have not run into any issues with Pixelmator Pro as it's been solid.

My favorite tools are the graphic features, color tweaks and the endless effects you can try. There is so much flexibility with editing. In short it is really powerful.

Pixelmator Pro is hands down one of the best editors for the price I have ever come across. You can try it free and it even goes on sale now and then. Beyond the basics it offers templates, mockups, video layers, motion files, vector support and RAW editing.

Cons

It has a few limitations like it is not a super high-end editor but the developers seem active with updates. My biggest issue is that there is no Android or Windows version which I think limits their reach.

I would say Pixelmator and Pixelmator Photo are just perfect on the iPad.

Cons

Pixelmator Photo still does not offer enough adjustment options which feels a bit restricted to me.

It gives you all the key Photoshop tools but without the subscription. Also it is easy to use and there are great tutorials online to help us out.

Cons

Like Photoshop you need to understand design principles to make your work look great. Also it is not like Canva where anyone can just jump in as we have got to have a good eye.

Well I feel like it is a little pricey for what it offers and I am not totally sure it is the best value.

Love how it lets me boost image resolution with AI and offers powerful selection tools.

The effects and filters are not quite flexible as they usually apply to the whole image rather than letting us target specific elements.
