“Excellent tool for reviewing and editing point clouds

Pros

I find it really easy to use and the visualization and editing are simple. Plus it is compatible with other programs which makes it super efficient.

Cons

There is really nothing I can complain about with this program.

“Perfect for point cloud indexing

Pros

What I like most about this software is how it simplifies laser scans into multiple point clouds allowing us to easily use them in Revit. Also it is perfect for working with any type of point cloud.

Cons

One thing I find frustrating is how long it takes to convert a point cloud file into an .rcp file which is required for use in Revit.

“Essential software for the BIM construction industry

Pros

It is a really helpful program for BIM engineers like us especially for 3D modeling in Revit. Plus Recap is great for converting photos into point clouds for BIM.

Cons

I do not have many issues but occasionally the connection points can be a bit unreliable. Also working with point clouds can be slow at times.

Recap mainly transforms photos into point clouds that can be easily used in Building Information Modeling (BIM). Also I find it an invaluable tool for BIM engineers significantly aiding in the 3D modeling process within Revit.

Cons

Well I am a bit disappointed by how much time it takes for the software to convert a point cloud file into an .rcp file which can then be imported into Revit.

It makes reading 3D scans much quicker and more efficient.

I have not run into any issues with the software. As overall it is generally easy to use.

Pros

Recap is the best software for opening point cloud models and is perfect for visualization. Plus this visualization allows us to convert point clouds into 3D models using modeling software.

Cons

The user interface is a little complicated at first and the software lacks many options to customize features that we frequently use.

Recap software is an easy to use tool for cleaning up point clouds before importing them into other 3D modeling platforms.

Interface is a bit unconventional and processing point clouds takes longer than I expected.

Pros

It is mainly used for turning photos into point clouds that can be used for BIM which I find helpful. Also it is really helpful for BIM engineers, especially when creating 3D models in Revit.

Cons

It consumes a lot of RAM and can freeze the PC which can be quite annoying. But aside from that everything else works perfectly for us.

he user interface is smooth and I find all the tools easy to understand.

I feel like it would be nice if they could add more tools especially for dimensions. Also sometimes it does not snap to the pipe diameter.
