“feature-packed plans and stellar support”
Pros
The tool includes one of the most feature-rich entry-level packages I've seen which makes it a really strong option for small businesses. Their customer support has been outstanding and they're very transparent when it comes to service problems and upcoming features in development. That openness is honestly a big reason we've stayed with it instead of moving to another platform that already covers some of the key features we're still waiting on here. The range of third-party apps especially shipping and logistics integrations, has also been very useful to work with.
Cons
Storefront development still feels pretty limited and building a truly custom website can be tough unless you hire a developer or put time into learning web development yourself. The same issue applies to their email features. Without more than a basic knowledge of HTML, customizing system emails is nearly impossible unless you rely on a third-party solution. Also even though their entry-level plans include a lot compared with other platforms some features like Google Reviews integration and Abandoned Cart Recovery are locked behind higher-tier plans which feels hard to justify financially since those features likely require very little additional support.

“support that truly delivers”
Pros
Getting help when needed has been a standout part of my experience and the whole platform has been easy to work with. With large cloud platforms, it's pretty common to get brushed off when you bring up an unusual issue so I was genuinely surprised by how they handled it. They didn't just respond they were willing to dig into the problem and gave me detailed step-by-step guidance so I could take care of it myself. At this point, I would highly recommend BigCommerce based on the quality of their customer support alone. Most platforms already cover the basic features you need these days but strong support is what really separates the top options from the rest.
Cons
I do wish there were more free templates to choose from or at least a simpler way to customize or build one that better matches what you want. Even so, the free templates that are available still offer a starting point for a wide range of industries.

“better scaling on bigcommerce”
Pros
We switched from Magento to this tool because it provides a manageable platform, reducing the complexity and maintenance overhead that had started to hinder our growth and scalability.
Cons
While the platform offers the flexibility needed for most use cases, businesses with highly specialized requirements may find its customization options more limited than those other platforms.

“love using bigcommerce”
Pros
After about four years of using it we've really come to love it. It keeps our ecommerce operations efficient and easy.
Cons
There have been a few times when not having full server access or control forced us to adjust our plans but it's never been anything serious enough to be a dealbreaker.

“flexible options and smart filters”
Pros
The platform gives us plenty of flexibility with customization, plus the ability to create product variants and options is really useful. The filtered search on both category pages and search results also makes browsing much better.
Cons
Support doesn't always seem fully aware of ongoing platform issues so it can take extra back-and-forth to explain something that may already be happening on their end. It usually gets sorted out within a day or two but that first interaction can feel awkward.

“online store launch made simple”
Pros
Online selling on this platform is very simple. Listing products for purchase took little effort and managing customer orders was just as hassle-free.
Cons
Selling recurring offerings such as subscriptions and lesson packages was challenging especially when trying to support something beyond a single one-time purchase.

“beginner-friendly site builder”
Pros
Putting together my site exactly the way I wanted was possible without writing a single line of code. It's very beginner-friendly especially for anyone creating their first e-commerce website without really knowing how to build sites.
Cons
The biggest downside is the pricing. It feels overpriced for what it offers and the feature set doesn't seem strong enough to justify the cost. Overall the value doesn't really match the price.

“useful features”
Pros
Onboarding with it is really simple and it comes with some really useful features for us.
Cons
Like a lot of SaaS products, it still gives off that familiar sense that certain features are missing. Updates and meaningful changes happen slowly, bugs can be frustrating to deal with and support sometimes tells you to disable apps that might be causing conflicts even though the only way to do that is by uninstalling and reinstalling them. It can end up feeling like you're just banging your head against a wall because the core product takes too long to improve.

“versatile option sets save time”
Pros
Setting up product variants was much faster with this software. Since our products come with different length choices, price adjustments and similar options, being able to build one option set with all the lengths and related price increases and then apply it across multiple products was incredibly helpful. It saved me from opening every single product one by one to recreate the same options and it really sped up the process of getting our shopping cart ready.
Cons
I didn't run into anything I disliked about this software.

“handy store setup and security”
Pros
The appeal here mirrors most e-commerce platforms especially the ability to get an online store up and running fairly quickly and securely. That alone can save a huge amount of time and money compared with building a store from the ground up with a full development team.
Cons
I was never especially impressed during the times I used it. After spending several years on Shopify, I had gotten used to a much organized experience and stronger developer tools especially with Liquid. It didn't feel very developer-friendly by comparison and its interface and documentation seemed limited and somewhat hard to work through. At times even a simple change ended up taking much longer than it should have on this platform.

Pros
Everything about it feels powerful and the security gives us a lot of confidence. We're also really looking forward to the new WordPress integration.
Cons
The checkout experience still needs work. The merchandising options could also be better especially when it comes to controlling what gets shown, when it appears and how it's displayed by category.

“Easy online store setup”
Pros
Setting up an online store and running it with this tool was easy and managing it day to day has been simple as well. It made setup, maintenance and overall store operation very manageable.
Cons
Certain level of code customization is allowed but private developers still can't get deep enough access to the codebase for more advanced integrations. The API is available, of course but there are times when it would be much more convenient to handle things directly without relying on the API.

“decent sales tracking but limited flexibility”
Pros
Handling sales is perfectly manageable with it and setting up coupon codes or creating and canceling orders is pretty easy.
Cons
Once you try to run your whole website on it, the limitations become a lot more noticeable. WordPress works much better in comparison. There are quite a few things that this tool just doesn't let you do, it lacks the full plugin flexibility and it also tends to shut down on us fairly often.

“top-notch support and usability”
Pros
The platform is simple to use and their customer support is really what puts it at the top of the e-commerce space for me.
Cons
Not really a negative thing but they keep rolling out new features that I usually don't end up using, still I'm sure they're useful to other people and they seem to work well.

“simple setup and product display”
Pros
Installation was very easy and putting products on the site and displaying them nicely took very little effort.
Cons
Lately, we've been dealing with a lot of attempted hacks where people try to place orders using stolen or fraudulent credit cards. From everything I've been told, there doesn't seem to be any built-in way to prevent or block these transactions. Only one order has actually made it through and thankfully we caught it but there have been hundreds of attempts. I reached out about it and was told there isn't really a way to stop it.

“storefront and sales tools shine”
Pros
It gives you everything needed to build and design an online store, upload products and sell across multiple platforms without much hassle. All the key tools are there in one place, including helpful documentation, SEO features to bring shoppers to the store, customer tracking through analytics and options to help grow revenue.
Cons

“dependable storefront”
Pros
Hands down, it has the best support I've ever dealt with across any provider not just e-commerce platforms. Calls are answered fast and the person on the other end actually knows what they're doing. I almost never get bounced around or need an escalation and most issues are resolved within about 10 minutes from the time I place the call. They really don't waste your time. PCI compliance was one of the biggest reasons we switched and it handles that burden for us. We no longer have to submit scan reports or deal with the paperwork. Our conversion rates have also stayed very consistent, without a lot of fluctuations and I can rely on the site to stay up and function properly. On top of that, adding products, categories and landing pages is easy. Just two months after moving to it, I was able to let my entire development team go because we simply didn't need them anymore. Training a new employee to add products now only takes a few minutes.
Cons
A few things still take far too long to improve. Managing 301 redirects is frustrating and a proper fix has been talked about on and off for years. Product pages can also load slower than I'd like sometimes going over 1000ms. Since mobile PageSpeed matters a lot to Google, being slower than average there is definitely a concern.

“all-in-one features for online stores”
Pros
Having worked with this product regularly while customizing it for clients, I've become very familiar with its APIs and overall design. It's been a really helpful platform for anyone trying to grow an online business. A few things stand out in a good way: store management is simple to handle and shipping setup is also smooth. It feels secure, offers 24/7 live support and works well as an all-in-one solution. Customization is flexible and the API documentation is clear and easy to follow.
Cons
There are only a couple of downsides and fixing them could help the product grow even faster. The theme library is somewhat limited and the pricing can feel a bit high for beginners.
