help desk to the rescue

Pros

Overall the app is pretty user friendly. Generally I can use it without too much trouble. That said I wish I could open my admin schedule directly from the app which would be really helpful.

Cons

A few things bother me about the app that feel like small but constant annoyances. For instance, discounts are difficult to apply as they usually require planning ahead rather than being quick to add on the fly. The calendar behavior is inconsistent too as sometimes it slides up and down, and other times I have to swipe left and right to find future dates, which throws me off. When I'm booking a client before they leave my room, I cannot view the rest of my day, so I can't properly arrange appointments without jumping to that day's calendar view. Also the categories offered don't match most of my questions, so I often end up marking something as an emergency even when it is not just to get a useful response. Lastly it is annoying that I must select the only provider every time when there's just one of us, I mean the app should default to that provider automatically.

Aesthetic Record EMR sets the bar high

Pros

For my medical aesthetic practice, Aesthetic Record has been a great pick. The learning curve waas easy to manage thanks to the best resources and it really alignes patient management within a HIPAA-compliant EMR. It also delivers strong value for the price. I personally recommend it as a reliable, all-in-one system that handles secure billing and payments while supporting high-quality clinical work and helping my practice grow.

Cons

My only complaint is that the Essentials User Package feels a bit limited. I mean it would be great if it included more features up front. Also I am noticing quite a few add-on charges for upgrades, which can add up and make customization more expensive than I expected.

Let's create awesomeness together

Pros

I like that all my records are kept digitally. Access from both desktop and mobile is easy too. However I can only edit things easily from the desktop.

Cons

On my phone I do not have the same capabilities as on the desktop when it comes to setting up appointments at a different location, which is frustrating. Also my before and after photos seem to be swapped as the before shows as after and vice versa. Another problem is that the app won't let me book sessions in separate rooms for hands-free equipment, so workflow gets messed up. And in terms of support messaging, it would really help to have a single button to request a live person to respond because right now I have to navigate a bunch of hoops to get human help.

Reliable, professional, and consistently outstanding

Pros

For seven years we have been working with AR and they still go above and beyond our expectations. Their staff truly defines excellent customer service as they are dependable, professional, responsive and unfailingly impressive in every interaction. I genuinely appreciate their consistency.

Cons

Just as with any EMR platform, a handful of glitches come up whenever we roll out updates. At times it is frustrating but understandable given the pace of continuous improvement.

Pros

It meets about 80% of our needs which I think is pretty good. I also love that we can add independent contractors into the calendar with their own availability schedules and the specific treatments they offer.

Cons

There are a couple of drawbacks such as the scheduling calendar only supports confirmed appointments and cannot handle tentative or unconfirmed requests at all.

You Get What You Pay For

Pros

We picked it for HIPAA compliance, solid sales reporting and clear patient markings that align injectable tracking in practice, but it disappoints us.

Cons

If my clinic is busy and every minute matters, I prefer software that stays invisible during my workflow. Sadly it tended to slow our staff down more than help. Since they bill on a per user basis, the system logs people out after short idle periods. So on shared iPads, this forced our reception and clinical teams to re-enter credentials nearly every thirty minutes often while a patient waited, including during peak check-in times and busy afternoons. Reliability frustrated us too as the iOS app and browser portal crashed frequently enough that rebooting them became routine. Even when it remained functional, simple operations demanded many unnecessary clicks. For instance to pull a patient's consent form from the calendar, I have to open the appointment, switch to the Timeline tab, hit More, select Documents, then change the date filters to access older files. Repeat that workflow for dozens of patients during a day and the minutes wasted really add up. A bigger problem appeared when we wanted to switch to another EMR. Extracting bulk data from this tool proved to be complex and costly. High-resolution photos aren't bundled with the usual document exports, so downloading charts one at a time was impractical and the vendor quoted us $1,120 to export only two years of records. That stung particularly because our initial data import, which was promised within thirty days, dragged on past ninety days, handled by an offshore contractor who was difficult to communicate with and offered little support. Practically speaking, the way the product is built and the policies around it create friction during everyday use and at the point of departure. The records are ours legally. So I expected a more respectful, professional handoff when we moved on. So if anyone else is shopping for EMRs, ask them and any other provider for written specifics about session timeouts, the click sequence for routine tasks and exact fees for full data extraction. Clearing up those issues ahead of time could save our staff and others significant time, expenses and aggravation.

Not impressed for the real costs.

Pros

What really catches my eye is that everything looks very polished and the service comes with a website, but that's about it. Other than that the software is unnecessarily complex and I was warned that the signup fee is not refundable.

Cons

The whole system is really hard to set up and not at all user friendly. Also it frustrates me that they charge a $399 setup fee which barely covers anything beyond activating the account. I suspect they charge that because many users leave quickly.

Aesthetic Records Review

Pros

When it works, the system is amazing. As managing photos is really easy and tracking products is a valuable feature too.

Cons

It failed when we set it up initially in New Zealand. As there were numerous customer complaints because people could not make bookings for five full days after the launch. Plus customer support handled my complaint poorly. I received an email saying everything was working and it took them a long time to investigate, which caused me to lose significant business. So I ended up cancelling our subscription after paying a costly onboarding fee and never received a refund. Plus all bookings happen on their site, which is not ideal for our own SEO.

Horrible customer service DELAYS patient care

Pros

It is simple to take photos and the before-and-after images are neatly stored in each patient's chart.

Cons

My biggest issue is that I can only reach customer support through chat as there's no phone number for emergencies. If my patient develops a complication or my e-prescribing goes down, I literally cannot assist them, which feels completely unacceptable. Because of that, I honestly think a company that can't ensure patient care is its top priority shouldn't be allowed to provide EMR services. Over the years I've found their customer service to be consistently hard to get a hold of. The POS is basically unusable for me as it freezes all the time, so I resort to using Square as my point of sale since this one is so unreliable. I also cano't send invoices directly to patients. Plus they push app updates constantly, which interrupts charting and sometimes forces an update that prevents me from saving my long notes. If I have multiple iPads that all need updating, it's a nonstop hassle. On top of that, charting is only possible in the app as there's no browser-based documentation. So when I forget my iPad I'm completely stuck. For me the disregard for patient safety is a huge red flag. That is why I would not recommend this product. Better look into alternatives like Jane, Charm or Symplast.

Non Working features without any support communication

Pros

At first it felt like excellent value for the price and I was happy with it, but as I kept adding features the cost climbed until it matched the pricing of those other platforms.

Cons

I've been dealing with nonstop glitches and on day 42 the site still isn't sending any texts or emails to clients. Plus daily messages have gone unanswered since the beginning.

Stay Clear of this software

Pros

I was first interested in the photo and charting tools. But when I started using it, I found it created more work for me and was less accurate than advertised.

Cons

All the reports have to be exported to Excel which is a hassle and the figures never line up. In several cases the totals didn't match my bank statements at all. Overall the platform feels seriously underdeveloped and the lack of any customer support is the most frustrating part. Honestly it is probably the worst vendor experience I've had in this field.

AVOID Aesthetic Record - its not worth trying

Pros

It is affordable but the customer support leaves much to be desired, the app keeps crashing and Aesthetic Record is not very helpful.

Cons

the software frequently crashes and fails to work correctly, especially when I am trying to use the booking system.

just ok - needs improvement

Pros

I like the profile photos as they look great and signing up for Aspire is a really nice option that I appreciated.

Cons

It has so many issues. I want to click a profile and message the client directly but that is not simple right now. Plus changing or moving appointments should not force me to start over every time. I also think multiple promos or discounts should be allowed at the same time. Lastly Aspire/Alle requires too many steps and feels complex.

Good Software but point of sale system needs major upgrade

Pros

The powerful features and detailed reporting are good, though the system takes some time to get used to and the workflow is not user friendly. I feel like AR could be the top aesthetic platform if it supported linking to Square or Stripe for payments.

Cons

We ran into problems with the mandatory merchant account because there is no choice to use Square or Stripe which we prefer for their simplicity. It also forces you to enroll in a separate merchant service. While we still use it, we reverted to Square for POS and our loyalty system because our experience with this merchant provider was awful. Plus the payment terminals they supply look and feel cheaply made overall.

Worst software ever!

Pros

Honestly I cannot think of anything good about this software. I would say pay a little more elsewhere as the number of headaches and hassles I deal with using this system makes any small savings completely not worth it.

Cons

this is the most unreliable software I have ever used. It allows equipment to be double-booked and I constantly hear patients complain about how hard it is to complete their paperwork. We have actually lost several patients because of an EMR that looked great in demos and marketing but failed in practice. Yes tech support is polite and quick to reply, but more often than not they have no fix and say they'll open a ticket with the engineering team.
