“Terrible customer service”
Pros
Not sure yet
Cons
Carestream is only prompt when they take your money otherwise their response time is deplorable. They continually fail to answer calls and evade all previously made telephone appointments. They are a frustrating company to deal with and have made the daily running of the dental practice quite challenging

“Perfect for dental practices”
Pros
Carestream Dental has all the essentials for running our dental practice. Plus 3D imaging is absolutely amazing and it makes managing patient records so much easier.
Cons
Occasional bugs and unexpected interruptions in operations is something I hate about it.

“Response time is too slow”
Pros
Once it's set up, it works pretty well. Also the screens are easy to navigate and usually do what they're supposed to without causing any problem. So yes I like it.
Cons
Having to wait and schedule upgrades when you need them the most is a total dealbreaker for me. It is honestly ridiculous trying to support someone using this product and then having to explain that their vendor says they need to wait three weeks for an upgrade just to fix performance issues. What a joke!

“Has everything we needed”
Pros
Carestream Dental has everything a dental practice could need! It offers multiple imaging solutions, like intraoral and extraoral systems, that deliver very high-quality digital images making diagnosis and treatment planning so much easier. Plus I love how efficient it is to capture and visualize dental images. Overall it's such an important tool for professionals like me. Also it is a huge help too as it takes care of so many admin tasks like scheduling appointments, managing patient records, handling billing and insurance and even generating reports. It really streamlines the whole workflow and boosts productivity in the office. The 3D imaging and CAD/CAM integration are game-changers! The 3D systems give an amazingly detailed view of dental structures, which is a huge help for implant planning, orthodontics, and oral surgeries. Plus, the CAD/CAM integration makes transferring data seamless, which saves me so much time and effort. Moreover mobile apps are another great feature. I can access patient info, check out images and manage appointments right from my phone, which is super convenient when I am on the go. And let's not forget the advanced diagnostic tools in the imaging software. Things like image enhancement, measurements and comparison features make it so much easier to diagnose and plan treatments accurately. In short it is packed with everything a modern dental practice needs.
Cons
I have no complaints to report as I find the software intuitive and really easy to use.

“Good one...”
Pros
The best thing about it is that it seamlessly integrates between their products. Plus we also able to find useful diagnostic tools.
Cons
In my experience, some third-party products don't integrate all that well with Sensei but that's about it.

“Easy to get started with”
Pros
Carestream Dental is user-friendly and highly intuitive. Like with in no time I was able to set it up and use it.
Cons
Occasional bugs, however the best thing is that the team resolved them quickly. So nothing major from my side to share.

“Avoid it at any cost”
Pros
Honestly, I can't think of any positives. It is quite expensive and it crashes often which is a real issue. And every time it goes down, it means lost revenue for the practice, which is quite frustrating.
Cons
Well as per me everything about this software is bad. Frequent crashes, poor customer service and the list goes on.

“Poor product, better look for alternatives”
Pros
There are not many pros, to be honest. It feels pretty cumbersome and not as user friendly as I'd hoped.
Cons
Carestream Dental customer service is absolutely poor and the product itself doesn't work well at all. Honestly, I did say buyer beware.

“Ideal for the dental industry”
Pros
I really like how easy it is to access the clipboard and attachments by just right-clicking on a patient's appointment. Plus, Carestream support is amazing like one phone call and they're ready to help with any question or issue I have. It's really reassuring knowing I can count on them.
Cons
Well I do not like how many steps it takes to leave a note on a patients chart. As the scheduling coordinator, I need to leave notes about every call I take but this software makes it way more difficult and time-consuming than it should be.

“Terrible.....”
Pros
It offers a few basic services that work okay, but nothing too impressive. I was expecting a bit more.
Cons
Carestream Dental is not very efficient and honestly, the worst part about it is their support service. It is really pathetic, and it feels like they don't even care about improving it.

“Provides excellent support”
Pros
It's a great product that too available at a fair price. Plus it helped me a lot grow my practice, and I am really happy with it so far.
Cons
There were a few glitches at the start when I was trying to get everything running properly, but once it was up and running, things were fine.

“Has it's pros and cons”
Pros
I really like how easy SoftDent is to use. Sure, there is a bit of a learning curve when you first start using it, but overall, its pretty simple.
Cons
I have used a few dental software options in the past and I have to say CS SoftDent doesn't stack up as well. One of the biggest downsides is that it does not come with many features that are typically included with other systems. For example, making even small customizations, like changing the medical history form, isn't included. You have to pay extra for that and even then, there are still a lot of limitations. Recently, our state required all medical offices to switch to electronic prescribing and CS SoftDent took advantage of that by charging us a hefty additional fee on top of our monthly subscription for a service thats now mandatory. It just feels like they’re nickel and diming us for things that should be included.

“Rarely works as expected”
Pros
I found it quite affordable compared to other brands I have tried. It does a great job scanning teeth and the prints on our 3D printer come out really well. Plus the image presentation software is decent, nothing too fancy, but it gets the job done. One feature I do like is the ability to email PDF layouts of the models. Also it is a nice touch that makes things a bit easier when sharing the work. Overall, for the price, it's a solid choice.
Cons
Well I have noticed that there are a lot of bugs that seem to pop up with every update and it is frustrating because none of these issues are usually listed on the systems webpage. Hold times can be ridiculously long too. For example, today I waited about an hour and 15 minutes and even though there's only one person ahead of me, the system said I still had about 55 minutes left. If you are a healthcare provider with scheduled patients, do not expect to be treated as a priority as it does not feel like the company values its healthcare providers. When I finally got through, the person helping me took forever to solve the issue and sometimes they even start asking installation related questions I could have answered years ago. And to top it off, you are paying for this support. Another downside is that the scans can't be used for submitting to Invisalign, which is a pretty big letdown.

“User-friendly software”
Pros
As per me their customer support is simply the best and it's definitely cost-effective option available.
Cons
I think Carestream Dental should definitely be cloud-based, especially since it is not the easiest thing to learn, especially for someone who's not very familiar with using computers.

“Pricey and never perform”
Pros
I’ve used both Eaglesoft and Open Dental, and honestly, this software doesn't stand a chance.
Cons
The cost is one thing, but what really gets me are the hoops you have to jump through to use the different modules. If you want charting, you actually have to call and sign up for it, which seems unnecessary. Plus, with eRx you have to download it on every computer you use, even if the software is already installed on them. On top of that, the third-party service companies working with SoftDent are not great. It all just feels a bit clunky and not as streamlined as it should be.

“Regretting our decision”
Pros
Nothing much to say here. But yes it is user-friendly and patients also thought it was pretty cool when they got scanned.
Cons
It is very slow and often locks up during scans, which makes it hard for me to get anything done. I ended up stopping use because it just took too long and my assistant would get frustrated every time she saw a scan was scheduled. Also it freezes a lot and the AI features are not great either. Plus, it cannot scan soft tissue so forget about using it for removable appliances or sleep devices.
