Compulink's EHR software offers everything I need to run my practice. Whether it is for optical retail or our ASC, Compulink serves as a one stop shop.
Cons
In the start we self hosted Compulink and the updates were somewhat problematic. However, migrating to the "Compulink Cloud" on AWS two years ago was definitely one of the best decisions we have made.

Pros
The software is comprehensive and detailed for all eyecare needs. I have used it for many years before this business, so its very user friendly for me.
Cons
It would be amazing if you could figure out how to email or send receipts through the Compulink software to patients. As someone who is mobile, finding a reliable small printer can be quite frustrating.

What I like most about this software is its ability to accommodate several different types of users, including Aesthetics, Optical, Contacts and an Optical Lab. We were able to customize it to fit our needs, something no other software we considered could do.
Cons
The inventory portion is not necessarily hard to use but it could be made more user friendly to help save time.

Compulink healthcare system is the best EHR solution for my practice that I have used in my 16 years long experience in medical healthcare. The software integrates really well with third-party vendors. The platform offers a plethora of features specific to our practice needs and its amazing. There are several built-in templates enabling you to get charting and note-taking done efficiently. On top of that, there’s much scope for customization to set things to your precise requirements, without bothering with the workarounds. The support staff is top-notch. They are kind and always willing to work with you to find the best solution for your issues. And more importantly, always readily available.
Cons
There is such a thing as too much choice. The customization ability requires you to first have a good idea of what you want the outcome to be and how to get that. Otherwise, it can get very complicated, very quickly. The new updates always have some bugs and minor glitches but the company has been great at helping us get rid of them.

I love the functionality of Compulink. Charting and scheduling are very easy with this platform, there a number of tools to help with it. You get all the data on one window when creating a new patient file. Note taking is a breeze. The system’s quick processing allows you to see more patients in less time.
Cons
Fixing errors in the billing process can be such a hassle. I wish there was an option to fix the problem yourself in real-time with a self-help guide or something, that would have been great.

Pros
I really enjoy the wide range of reports I can run in Compulink like almost any data list I need. Its also a major player in the industry, so everything we needed to integrate with it (like Weave and contact lens company sales platforms) has worked seamlessly. Scanning documents is simple with the right scanner and they are easy to view and locate from the patients demographics page. Having billing handled directly through Compulink has been easy too.
Cons
There were many learning curves with this system, such as needing a specific scanner for proper integration discovering that the Intake Form was not mobile compatible, understanding how the patients ledger populates and what data transfers between exams (most items do but not things like occupation, hobbies or PCP). As doctors, we did not find the EHR/Exam forms to be as intuitive or user-friendly as we had hoped. Depending on the version you choose, the extent to which you can edit exam form templates varies.
