“Simple enough for almost anyone”
Pros
The interface is simple so just about anyone can pick it up and use it without much trouble.
Cons
Every now and then a bug would cause it to shut down but it usually came back up pretty fast.

“Helpful support and simple charting”
Pros
Getting started with Fusion was very simple since the medical documentation system is simple to use. When I needed help with my password at the beginning, the support team was excellent and handled it really well.
Cons
One thing that would make it better is having the calendar change the visit color once a note has been completed.

“Quick patient document access”
Pros
Having patient documents readily available is one of the best parts of using it.
Cons
There is a navigation problem though: when I hover over a patient's appointment to check them in or update their status, it often doesn't stay hovered and ends up making me click a different appointment.

“Organized and easy workflow”
Pros
Getting around the system feels very user friendly and entering data or information is simple because everything is laid out in a really organized way.
Cons
It would be even more useful with additional drop-down options or an AI feature that could summarize the information and descriptions entered into the system.

Pros
The way everything is organized really helps especially when you're new and still learning where things are.
Cons
I think if there were an orientation video that walked through the layout and showed where to find things it would be better.

“comprehensive system”
Pros
The system feels pretty comprehensive and it's really helpful that I can customize my evaluations by adding or removing sections as needed.
Cons
Every now and then, the calendar gives me trouble and switches into a mode that makes it difficult to get to client records. The selection of formal evaluations also feels somewhat limited although that may be more related to the needs of my specific clinic.

“Organized calendar but too many clicks”
Pros
It is simple to navigate and simple to use. The SOAP note layout works well and the scheduling/calendar setup is arranged in a way that feels clear and organized.
Cons
There are far too many unnecessary clicks. For instance, when entering goal data, you have to click into the section before you can type anything and if you select the last goal, the page jumps back to the top so you have to scroll all the way down again. It would make much more sense to just enter the data directly. In progress notes, it would also help to view scheduled appointments right there for attendance calculations instead of closing the note and going back to the patient profile to check sessions. Even better having it calculate attendance automatically for a selected date range would save time. Overall, the system starts to feel repetitive in longer documentation like evaluations, reassessments and progress notes although it still works fairly well for everyday daily documentation.

“annoying limitations”
Pros
The report design looks fantastic and the documentation setup makes charting fast and simple. Fusion is clearly built to help users get notes done quickly which is something I really appreciate.
Cons
At the same time the system seems very complex in practice. Tasks that should be simple often are not. One example was when we added a new office location and tried to apply that location to existing clients who were already scheduled in a series. Their re-evaluations had been pre-scheduled as part of that series and once we changed the location, those re-evaluations were deleted. Problems like that should not be happening and they make the platform really frustrating to use. Another major issue is that it does not allow integration with other software. We wanted to connect it with TimeTap as part of a broader patient-experience and scheduling workflow but Fusion would not support that integration. Because of that, we have even discussed switching EMRs. It honestly feels like those restrictions exist to push users into paying for those features only through it and that leaves clients feeling boxed in and unnecessarily limited. They really should allow outside APIs that can improve workflow, even when those tools come from other companies. I do not think that would drive customers away, if anything, it would probably make them value it more. On top of that the billing side is very difficult to work with. It would help a lot if they worked with experienced billers to make it more user friendly. I even had one biller refuse to work with me because I was using Fusion.

“effortless reporting customization”
Pros
Its wide range of report customization options has been incredibly helpful.
Cons
It's disappointing how many new feature releases seem to ignore the suggestions and feedback shared on the Fusion Help site which makes the experience pretty frustrating and leaves it feeling like user ideas are being overlooked on purpose. On top of that a lot of the features that eventually do get added come at an extra cost, even though we're already paying premium pricing for Fusion EMR.
