“An awesome EHR experience which continues to improve at a amazing pace of march towards perfection after 9 1/2 yr my use of this EHR since 2015”
Pros
Since February 2024, I've been amazed by the fantastic product support from Netsmart for Gehrimed. Initially, my 2023 review was based on misunderstandings and inadequate training opportunities. Now, I appreciate the evolving user-friendly features and the dedicated support from Netsmart. With proper effort to learn, Gehrimed is a stellar product. Hence, I am revising my review to reflect this reality and give Gehrimed five stars in all departments.
Cons
At this time this is an awesome EHR is evolving in a extremely positive direction ; however it is not perfect to suit every users whims and fancies or wishful thinking !

“An awesome EHR experience which continues to improve since 2015”
Pros
Since my last review in 2023, I have closely worked with Netsmart customer service and their teams. I discovered that Gehrimed is now owned by Netsmart, which was a surprise to many longtime users like me. However, since February 2024, I have been impressed by the amazing support for Gehrimed from Netsmart's staff and leadership in Asheville, NC, and Overland Park, KS. My previous review was influenced by multiple adverse factors and a lack of understanding of Gehrimed's capabilities. Now, having gained a clearer insight into this evolving product, I must update my review to reflect its current state. Gehrimed is an incredible product that is continually improving, and with adequate effort to learn it, it can be fully utilized. I now give Gehrimed five stars in all departments. Right now, this EHR is awesome and moving in a very positive direction; however, it's not perfect for every user's whims and fancies.

“One of the worst EMR's I have ever seen - this EMR instead of improving, is getting worse by the da”
Pros
This product is terrible. Very poor in terms of customer friendliness.
Cons
This software needs a complete overhaul in its current form and desperately requires a total re-engineering.

“Best EHR I ever used in my practice”
Pros
The ease of use, smooth charting, and workflow are excellent. Faxing notes directly to the nursing home after completing them saves me time.
Cons
Some doctors I contracted with rejected this software due to lack of scheduling program. I tried to show them how to use the regulatory visit schedule but their office manager would shut me down. Your representatives need to do a better job showcasing how this works.

The uncomplicated charting and workflow make it intuitive to operate. Sending notes directly to the nursing home by fax after finishing them saved me a lot of time.

“Easy To Use”
Pros
Simple to operate. Integration with the MIPS dashboard and easy access to patient education. Automatically faxes notes. Advanced search database. The best ICD-10 code entry ever! Fair to good text-to-speech software. Ability to use real person transcription services.
Cons
It's expensive for the lack of customization. The e-prescription feature is terrible and clunky, and it doesn't allow scheduled 2s. There's no lab or diagnostic integration, and no facility EHR integration, despite being advertised for over three years. Tech support lacks knowledge, makes many mistakes, and closes out support tickets before they're resolved. The clinical templates are poor and time-consuming to use. The scheduling system is the worst and hasn't been addressed despite 100% user request for improvement. The Macintosh integration is error-prone and was released too early.

“Has really helped me run my small long-term care facility-based practice.”
Pros
Quick and easy to set up, learn, customize, and implement. Designed for long-term care and individual mobile clinicians working without a set schedule and with minimal staff support. Excellent integration with Dragon voice dictation, built-in e-prescribing, and responsive customer support.
Cons
There's no integration to order, receive, or populate lab and imaging results. No integration with facility EHRs or other EHRs, state-controlled substance reporting systems, or health information exchanges. No faxing or other mobile document management. It times out after relatively short periods of inactivity, requiring frequent log-ins with two-factor authentication.

“good price for a good product”
Pros
Previously, we had trouble keeping track of all the appointments for our residents. Since implementing this, we've had far fewer issues. Also, it's well-priced for its capabilities!
Cons
The speech recognition can be a bit off, but very few of our employees use it. I'd recommend avoiding it in any case.

“I have used the product for two years and it has served my needs for the most part.”

“Easily adapted to our needs. Learning curve was short”
Pros
Improved my documentation significantly. Allows remote access to encounter notes when on call and ensures compliance with CMS regulations.
Cons
I would prefer ROS to be displayed on the left side of the note and vital signs on the right. We need a graph with dates to track blood pressure, pulse, etc., as it is for weights.

“Simple easy-to-use software for LTC providers.”
Pros
The software was simple to implement and train providers on. It is easy to navigate and intuitive.
Cons
There is a lack of customization on a per-practice level. The ability to fax the medical director log and customizable reports are needed.

“need to add several features. but overall i love it.”
Pros
The census feature and the ability to see my patients at the facilities are excellent. The Dragon function is also superb.
Cons
No lab features to integrate a bridge to get results, and the medication function is very useless.

“Overall a good experience and when I have had a question or problem the support has been very good.”
Pros
I appreciate the QPP support provided by the company related to EHR data tracking and reporting features. The facilities are well-aligned and easy to access. The macros are useful, allowing me to use my own patterns and practices when charting. The search function for entering ICD-10 codes is also very efficient.
Cons
The "dragon" voice feature still needs work, though it is better. It doesn't always type what is said and seems to have a mind of its own when making corrections; it lacks the "intelligence" that Android and iPhones have for anticipating what is being said in dictation. The patient data entry is clunky and has to be typed rather than dictated. I would like to see macros or a user-normal function for the "plan" in the patient encounter.

“Very positive. Extensive growth with the product and customer is valued for their input/suggestions”
Pros
For the most part, gEHRiMed is easy to use and navigate. I appreciate that the product is up-to-date with a MIPS dashboard. The support team is extremely helpful, solving problems immediately or quickly finding answers. They take suggestions seriously and consider their benefits for all users.
Cons
At this time, we are still waiting for the interaction of gEHRiMed with other EHRs like PCC. This would greatly benefit our practice. Some features have been difficult to incorporate into our daily workflow.

“used for 2 years; interface good, both desktop and ipad version - only minor quirks”
Pros
When the connection is good, dictation works very well. The possibility to submit billing automatically and integrated ICD codes are a plus.
Cons
No labs/meds integration; it's not possible to transfer notes between users. The aRx function is lousy, even compared to free software. The preexisting templates are rather poor.

“Overall a great product tailored to LTC so providers can focus more on quality patient care.”
Pros
Intuitive and easy to learn, convenient delivery of notes to facilities, patient census by facility, portability, voice recognition for text-to-speech notes, MIPS and Meaningful Use capabilities.
Cons
There's an inability to create or customize reports; we have to call GPM for corrections that administrators should be able to handle.

“This has cut the workload for my providers in half, more time to see patients.”
Pros
Everything in one spot: no need for separate billing programs, EMR programs, and other applications. All patient information is consolidated in one place.
Cons
It signs me out too soon, but other than that, I have no complaints.

“Outstanding provider-friendly EMR for physicians and nurse practitioners working in PALTC”
Pros
Easy to create and document an encounter. Portable on an iPad or laptop. Ability to see patient census by facility. Convenient delivery of progress notes (print, fax, or secure email). Reports on daily encounters, monthly summaries, days to sign encounters, and more. MIPS and Meaningful Use compliance with useful dashboards and support. High level of customer support and helpful regulatory updates specific to post-acute/long-term care groups. Triage function for urgent messaging.
Cons
I would prefer the eRx capability to be faster for providers to use. The directory listing/address book needs a more intuitive layout and the ability to search the directory.

“Great!”
Pros
The patient census by facility, QM capabilities, triage function, advanced search features, and the ability for providers to compare themselves to the national average are great. I also like how the census tracks the number of days since the patient was last seen. The support team is fabulous, and Christy Bailey was awesome in getting us started. This is the best customer support I've seen with any EHR, and this is our fourth!
Cons
Providers should be able to easily print their schedules without the tedious advanced search. I know the software isn't designed for scheduling, but it would be nice to have that feature. The chronic care management needs a lot of work, including a time tracker and a report that generates once you reach 20 minutes.

“NOT a user but support a few dozen users. The items they bring up contributed to these scores.”
Pros
The support and partner-like feeling with the gEHRiMed staff are great. Ease of installation and use is a big plus. Multi-platform availability is also excellent.
Cons
Having written my own EMR program in the past, I understand how crazy things can be with regulations and "easy requests." GPM does a great job responding to support requests, but sometimes the request-to-release process of features is a bit slow or communication regarding feature requests is poorly executed. This might be a ZenDesk issue, though. Some minor issues exist with accessing reports (or reports that should exist but don't). However, the pros FAR outweigh the cons!
