Reliable with custom-fit tool

Pros

I'm impressed by its reliability, traceability and quick usability. I only recently noticed how tailored our LIS is compared with examples shown in training videos. It really meets our laboratory's requirements.

Cons

At times working with the team to address particular requirements felt tough for me. Because the LIS is so configurable I occasionally saw duplicate approaches put in place or had to find a workaround to get what we actually needed.

responsive and professional support

Pros

When I'm putting together a new test or bringing new production equipment online, I really appreciate being able to work directly with the tool's support team. They keep ticket progress visible, usually respond quickly with fast turnaround and are genuinely friendly while still being highly professional.

Cons

Occasionally setting up or training on a new test feels overwhelming but I'm supported by an excellent team especially Drew Taphorn who walks me through each step and explains the reasoning behind his methods.

Easy setup & evolving features

Pros

Navigating and setting up this system feels very easy to me and the speed at which our initial client went live really impressed me. I also appreciate that the product keeps evolving and collaborates with customers to add useful new features.

Cons

Report templates have some limitations and I notice inserting a single image can leave awkward white space, scheduled batch faxing would be useful though it's not supported yet.

Exceptional 1-on-1 support

Pros

Working with Drew was a standout experience for me, he was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to guide me one-on-one, patiently walking me step-by-step through what I needed to achieve.

Cons

From an admin perspective making changes to individual components can cascade unexpectedly and I wish the system were simpler so I could implement adjustments myself rather than relying on the support team.

Pros

Pulling up reports and reviewing results is something I find really simple and efficient with this tool.

Cons

quick workflow adjustments

Pros

I really appreciate the customization features especially the ability to make quick adjustments to fine-tune workflows for our clients.

Cons

The system feels fairly complex and we often depend on vendor stakeholders for guidance though I consider it a minor trade-off for the added functionality.

Patient & supportive customer service

Pros

After our IT Manager left I ended up being pushed into handling tasks I had almost no training for. Even though I can usually puzzle things out on my own, there have been plenty of times when I've had to lean on this tool's help. On top of that, I'm dealing with COVID fatigue and during a TeamViewer session or similar support call I'll suddenly spot the issue and feel like a complete idiot. I'm generally very attuned to picking up any hint of annoyance in someone's voice but either the support team is exceptionally good at masking frustration or they simply don't get upset. They've consistently been incredibly kind, patient and supportive. Honestly they're the perfect example of what great customer service looks like. I genuinely appreciate how they handle things and it really makes a difference.

Cons

Multiple ways to perform the same action sometimes confuse me, even though I've seen the same issue on other platforms.

Effortless lab management & reporting

Pros

In my experience this platform lets our teams handle many different parts of laboratory testing quickly. We can deliver results to clients through multiple channels and create a wide range of customized reports that address specific patient-care requirements. It also gives us visibility into TAT, whether for the entire lab, an individual test or a particular client. We recently integrated the RCM system and I appreciate that we now have a single place to validate both testing details and billing information.

Cons

Occasionally it isn't very convenient and I find myself having to attempt the same action several times before I can pull the data I need. I suspect that the system's complexity and extensive feature set are what make it less feasible at times.

easy setup and reliable performance

Pros

I appreciate how feasible the setup and use are, implementing it was simple. The client's remote-access capability is a standout. Results are accurate and the instrument interface is user-friendly. It's dependable with no downtime, offers great management and stats reporting and support is excellent.

Cons

One issue I've noticed is that migrating from the training/testing setup to the live production environment has to be done manually which can introduce inconsistencies in the results.

Simple grossing module

Pros

Using the program I find it pretty feasible and quite simple to operate. The grossing module that I rely on is simple to teach new hires and I appreciate being able to tailor the lab protocols we follow and have them implemented directly within the LIS.

Cons

I really don't have any major complaints about the LIS and find it easy to work with but I would suggest improving customer support. Requests for new customizations or fixes often go unanswered so reported errors and change requests remain unresolved.

Pros

agile design and simple integration

Pros

Its lightweight and agile design impresses me, as we can quickly configure it, connect interfaces and integrate it across multiple applications easily.

Cons

For our team we noticed that the high degree of customization means it's best to have at least a couple of power users, people who can serve as internal experts across the organization.

convenient workflow & great support

Pros

One feature I value highly is its tidy layout and ease of access, for new hires, navigating the platform is convenient and bringing someone up to speed is feasible. The software's flexibility lets me adapt it to the daily workflow of almost any lab setting. Capturing statistics is effortless, setting up new clients is simple, distribution channels for reports are configurable and customer support is consistently prompt and responsive. Compared to other LIS platforms I've used, this one stands out as the most sophisticated and user-friendly.

Cons

The main drawback I've experienced with this tool is that it can be slow when processing and loading. We use the system both locally and through a virtual desktop interface (VDI) and depending on how much resource capacity exists in your environment it can feel a bit sluggish when working through multiple cases. When accessed via the VDI we haven't had any speed problems at all. The local installs, however, occasionally struggle with performance especially on cases that include more items to load than usual, for example, uploaded images, documents and other media. For a lighter workload it's only a minor nuisance but as the volume of cases ramps up the delays become noticeably more disruptive.
