A TotalABA Review

Pros

In the early stages of using the product, I have been pleased with the customer support. As part of a behavioral practice set in our data collection ways, the team at TotalABA has been very helpful in creating solutions within their updates to make our collection methods possible.

Cons

In my experience, the cons of the system include the lack of customizations after placing a goal in treatment planning. Also, I found that there are several little aspects and buttons that must be selected to get things set up correctly, and they are easily missed when setting up new clients.

Top Notch Practice Management Software

Pros

Since we joined Total ABA early in its software development, we've witnessed its impressive evolution to meet client needs. They regularly introduce new features and updates based on client feedback. Their responsive and thorough customer service ensures that any software issues are quickly resolved. Overall, the software's intuitiveness makes staff training a breeze.

Cons

Honestly, I cannot think of any cons about this software. Any improvements that I have suggested over the years have happened.

My point of view

Pros

The software's user-friendliness stands out to me, and I appreciate the continuous implementation of new programs to meet evolving needs. It's reassuring to know there's a support team to reach out to when issues arise.

Cons

From a business point of view, some of the programs needed do take time, and it's not always easy to wait. It would be great to have more of a note section besides whats in the demographic area. If there is an issue with ABA, such as speed or software updates causing the system to be down, a notification should be on TABA when logging in. This way, our field staff is aware at the same time.

Amazing guidance and customer support

Pros

The software's all-inclusive nature simplifies keeping track of business data and billing in one convenient location.

Cons

I encountered a few minor inconveniences when going back to fix data and dates, but nothing that can't be resolved. It just takes a bit of time to delete and re-enter data when I make an error.

Pros

The graphical presentation is a standout feature for me because it's driven by the data entered.

Cons

There are several areas in the software where I would assume that information would pre-populate and flow into. I still find myself free typing numerous fields that I feel would be better if the information could just pre-populate from a different area of the software. For software that promotes ease of access, I still have to do more clicks and typing than I would like to get things done. There are also too many drop-down menus and window switches just to see the information I need. I understand that in Applied Behavior Analysis, we like to document as much information as possible, but it seems cumbersome when I need to view or glance at something quickly and end up clicking more times than I'd prefer. Data can be easily deleted by those with permission to do so. That being said, timestamps or a security log of the users who edited or deleted data would make sense. There are also several bugs in the system, like filters resetting and lists dragging me back to the beginning after clicking in the text field.

Amazing Customer Service

Pros

Total ABA offers a comprehensive solution for creating schedules, monitoring client data, facilitating collaboration among providers, and serving as a one-stop solution.

Cons

Setting up the software was initially a bit complicated, but once I got the hang of it, it became very easy.

Great Behavioral Health PMS

Pros

Working with this software has been a pleasure. Their onboarding and support teams are efficient and proactive. It's evident that management cares about client success. Total ABA has streamlined our internal processes, allowing us to focus more on our clients and delivering top-quality care.

Cons

This industry is complex, which forces software vendors to create highly flexible and complex products to meet all the various and quite different requirements across providers and states. This power makes certain things confusing at times, but the support team is available to help answer my questions.

Great Product

Pros

Since I started using ABA in 2017, I've consistently been impressed by its capabilities and enhancements. The user-friendly interface and array of tools make data collection efficient. Implementing BHT through this online platform has been effective, and the customer service team is responsive and considerate of consumer needs.

Cons

I would like to see an expansion in the automatic notification capabilities. Currently, the system does a good job prompting me when a student is successful in achieving his or her goals and objectives, but it does not flag plateaus, regressions, or setbacks. It would be nice to get a pop-up if the system could recognize that a skill is not being met.

Horrible, not ABA friendly. "Totally NOT ABA"

Pros

I believe there is absolutely nothing great or even good about this product.

Cons

There is absolutely no way this platform was created by anyone who knows anything about ABA. It is not user-friendly, and there are so few features to analyze data (you know, Applied Behavior Analysis!?). The graphs it creates are extremely low quality and do not allow for any form of analysis that would be helpful in making informed decisions about treatment. It takes an unbelievable amount of time to input goals and treatment plans into this system, and if I need to change something, I must erase and start over. I have used two other platforms, including Central Reach and Catalyst, and I didn't love either until I was forced to use this system. I would pay to have either one of those back at this point. There are features that seem cool, like being able to select different types of prompts used, but get this! I can't even see that information anywhere! So it is just a bunch of pretty things that do nothing for a behavior analyst except confuse RBTs and get incorrect data because of it. This all affects the clients who are relying on us for accurate data collection to make informed choices about their care. We have reached out to TABA for help that they promised in the contract they would give if there were services we needed, to no avail.

Unmatched Customer Support

Pros

The team at Total ABA is always very responsive and available to assist quickly. I appreciate the many customizations they created for our practice.The Salesforce platform seems to be very flexible and capable of handling a lot. I really like that I can run almost every type of report using the many filters available on reports.

Cons

I do not use their Data Collection features mainly because they do not have an App with offline capabilities yet. An App is something we really want for Data Collection, and now providers need to log in to a separate software to take data and separately to Total ABA for billing, which is not ideal.

TotalABA - Incredible support for administrative needs.

Pros

I use TotalABA to support our scheduling, billing, and reporting activities. It is easy for our staff to learn and to build client records. It is fantastic for helping supervisors and managers track and follow up on activities completed and activities still outstanding. I love the reporting features and there is seldom a management question that comes up that I cannot figure out how to run a report to get an answer.

Cons

I wish it could interface more closely with our email system. The new parent portal features may address that, but we have not explored it yet.

Quite pleased!

Pros

Honestly, I'm amazed by their customer service. No other company I've worked with has felt this responsive. It truly feels like a partnership.

Cons

The interface did not feel as modern as the tastes that my users demand, so I built a custom interface around it.
