Missing features and go-live issues

Pros

What I appreciate is that it's rehab-focused, very user-friendly, lets me document faster and Tina and Virginia's support is great, plus it's compatible with Epic.

Cons

One downside I found versus Medilinks was some missing features I didn't know about, the system can be slow, there were many go-live problems and authorizations don't interface with Epic.

Designed for inpatient rehabilitation

Pros

In my experience, Specialty Care for Rehabilitation is clearly designed for the Inpatient Rehabilitation setting. I find that Specialty Care for Rehabilitation encourages the interdisciplinary care process by creating links between evaluations, team notes, GG Scoring and the Interdisciplinary Team Conference and the Plan of Care. The EMR feels simple and simple to use and the navigation is outstanding.

Cons

As far as I'm concerned, this is the only Inpatient Rehabilitation system I've worked with, so I haven't really come across any real downsides to this product.

easy, customizable med administration

Pros

Medication Administration and Treatment Administration modules are really easy to use and the forms are highly customizable. I can link orders to note templates and the software is affordable.

Cons

The configuration feels clunky and the system isn't as simple as I expected. We run into problems daily. Support staff are friendly and usually responsive but anything that needs escalated, the higher-level support tends to be slow or unresponsive, which accounts for about half our issues. Also, the ePrescribe integration is riddled with bugs.

convenient interface

Pros

Personally, I found the program really easy to pick up. It offers a convenient online interface and because so many colleagues use this tool or have experience documenting with it, I find it genuinely helpful in practice.

Cons

Sometimes I get frustrated with their customer support, other times the team is fantastic and quickly resolves issues but there have been several occasions when I felt the person on the phone didn't know how to fix the system or offer a clear solution, so support really feels hit or miss to me.

sales presentation was really convincing and I like that they made some ambitious promises.

Cons

I've lost $500K due to the ineffective billing platform Wellsky uses, called Citrix. The customer service for Citrix is terrible and Wellsky staff seem unfamiliar with it. Training has been minimal, there's no user manual and the promised training videos are missing. Overall, this has been a very poor experience and I hold Wellsky responsible. On top of that, it was extremely difficult to find a place to leave a review.

Pros

I can save templates, easily schedule patients, and quickly find information on patients that I need to see.

Cons

I find it very hard to navigate OASIS start of cares. It does not automatically save notes, and it's difficult to navigate within the system.

I absolutely LOVE the IRFPAI module, it takes away all the guesswork (and math) and helps me follow the CMS rules for obtaining the most appropriate scores. I can customize the charting templates to meet our needs.

Cons

With any software, there are updates, so keeping up with minor bug fixes has been the only drawback I've faced, but it's never anything major.

Pros

It is geared towards rehab specifically, so it meets the needs of our department. For example, it tracks insurance authorizations automatically and alerts me when further authorization is needed. It will also automatically alert me when a modifier is needed for billing. Within one system, I can chart, bill, and track productivity.

Cons

Since our company has grown bigger, I feel that customer service has suffered. I don't get fast answers to questions posted, and cases get closed after Medilinks responds, even if it does not solve my issue.

Pros

This software keeps me up to date on our Medicare and Joint Commission documentation guidelines, has good support for concerns, and I have benefitted from the option to change our templates.

Cons

There is no ability to have quick text, task lists are slow to load, as are reports. I believe it would benefit from a quicker response to customer issues instead of waiting for the next update.

We had a great experience

Pros

Before we started using it, our clinic was using paper-based documentation, and buying this software has been one of the best things our practice has ever done for the following reasons: it interfaced with our current scheduling system, Appointments Everywhere; it is extremely easy to learn and start using; it has phenomenal customer service, including onsite initial training and continual check-in from the SLP and OT software engineers, fast turnaround time with responses to problems that arise, and friendly and knowledgeable support staff. It is very easy to learn and use and has saved us so much therapist documentation time. The software engineers worked with us to customize reports and therapy notes for our facility. The software contains many useful reports to help streamline our practice. We have weekly online meetings to help us make the most of our software. I can access the software anywhere I have a computer, and I get convenient reminders for upcoming evaluations and progress reports.

Love the customer support

Pros

The clean look of the documentation is much improved from earlier versions I've used. The team is very responsive to my many requests and questions, they are wonderful to work with and took a lot of the stress out of our go-live. All Medicare and other regulatory compliance issues are well taken care of, and my documentation is as thorough as it could possibly be. Everything is right there for easy access. The AE scheduling package is great for our very busy clinic with multiple locations.

Cons

I find the software can be overly rigid, making it difficult to alter or delete billing codes after a note has been signed. Since I was used to a more customized package in the past, adjusting to a more standardized content is an ongoing challenge. I find the billing review screen confusing, and as an administrator, I would like to be able to chart review my staff's schedule as they see it, edit billing if needed, and annotate. In AE, I would like to be able to purge appointments in batches, even if they were scheduled individually.

Pros

Wellsky takes the need for "thinking" out. The software is able to track anything from referral dates and authorizations to when G-codes or Progress Summaries are due. I can customize it to track my state regulations as well. The billing is simple and efficient, allowing me to submit charges when ready and hold others that are being reviewed.

Cons

The cost is too high, otherwise it works fine.

A user-friendly tool

Pros

I have been in the physical therapy profession for 25+ years. I started with paper and have used a few other software programs before using wellsky. The improvements that have been made over the past couple of years to their outpatient platform have been outstanding in helping me keep up with all the requirements that payors now require. From G-codes to authorization tracking to alerting me to the next MD visit, Wellsky has it all.

Cons

My least favorite part is the inability to send messages to multiple users at once. It's certainly not a deal-breaker for me.

Great for managing a therapy business

Pros

It offers reports to quickly manage and make decisions regarding my financials and allows for tracking therapists' compliance with documentation requirements. It helps me stay abreast of new regulatory requirements.

Cons

I think the documentation templates could be streamlined for better efficiency. I also feel the look of the document when it interfaces with EPIC could be improved.

A great addition to our work

Pros

The compliance has been the greatest asset of this product. The research and end result that this team puts into their product with the CMS rules is outstanding.

Cons

We are currently on the classic version of this product, and I wish it was more intuitive than what we have now. We're upgrading to the .com version, which I believe will solve some of the issues we currently face.

Pros

It monitors all Medicare requirements and tracks authorizations, etc. When used properly, this system prevents all possible fallouts!

Cons

The software is complicated and expensive. However, I understand the complexity is necessary to ensure zero fall-outs or failed claims.
