“Would recommend it to other medical practices”

Pros

It has been a big help for our office especially when it comes to physician correspondence and medical letters. The biggest benefit is how quickly our providers can dictate letters instead of stopping to type them out which keeps their workflow moving without unnecessary interruptions. It has made the whole process much more efficient and the system is very user-friendly. In a busy medical practice, that kind of time savings really matters and it has helped us keep letters completed and sent out on time. Another thing I appreciate is how naturally it fits into the way we already work. Our providers have no trouble using it and the time saved for both the physicians and administrative staff has made it a very worthwhile service for our office. I would absolutely recommend it to other medical practices that depend heavily on physician-dictated letters.

Cons

The only thing I would really like to see added is a feature that automatically places each doctor's electronic signature on the finished letter. That would organize the process even more and remove one extra step for our staff. Aside from that, I honestly do not have much negative to say. ZyDoc has been an excellent product and service for us. It has made medical letter dictation much simpler and more efficient and the amount of time it saves both our physicians and staff is substantial. Overall, we have been very pleased with it.

“Delivered accurate transcriptions”

Pros

Handling large volumes of chart notes and lengthy medical-legal reports, it consistently delivered accurate transcriptions in less than 24 hours. The website made it very simple to edit documents and keep years of transcriptions organized, searchable and stored in one place. Whenever any issue came up, customer support was reliably helpful, whether it involved hardware or software problems or document formatting and downtime stayed minimal. The ability to tailor the system to my regular workflow also made it much easier to scale up as my business grew.

Cons

Early on, the biggest downside was that Apple products were not supported. That was eventually fixed and now I can use the full Apple ecosystem without any problems.

“Connects with our EMR”

Pros

Being able to connect it with our EMR, eClinicalWorks, has been one of its biggest advantages. Our providers can pull up their patient schedules on a smartphone and handle dictation quickly and efficiently from just about anywhere. On top of that, the provider-specific macros and the mapping into the correct sections of our EMR documentation make the time spent on charting much more productive.

Cons

There really haven't been many issues I'd call major. Like any application, it has a few quirks and some areas that could still be improved but whenever something came up, the support team addressed it promptly and accurately. If I had to point to one thing that could be better, it would be a faster turnaround at times especially in the kind of instant-response environment most of us work in now though overall the timing is usually very acceptable.

“Incredible support”

Pros

Using it has been a really positive experience. The platform is very user-friendly and the customer support has been excellent. Whenever I've run into an issue, their team has been quick to help right away. The surgeons don't have any trouble with dictation and the editing workflow is simple and efficient.

Cons

They do occasionally make changes to the format but I'm usually informed ahead of time so it hasn't caused any real issues.

“Can always count on support”

Pros

Whenever I've run into a problem, the customer support has been outstanding. I can send an email and usually get a reply incredibly fast, often within about an hour. On top of that, they are friendly, open to feedback and willing to adjust things based on my preferences without becoming defensive. The Zydoc system is also very user-friendly which is a huge plus since I'm not very comfortable with technology.

Cons

There have been a few minor bumps here and there but nothing major. At one point, a transcriber wasn't capturing my wording exactly such as typing "Did not" instead of "Didn't." Having to correct those kinds of differences during proofreading could take quite a bit of extra time. After I reported it, Zydoc responded very quickly and fixed the issue and I haven't run into it again since.

“Ability to edit documents”

Pros

Being able to edit documents, download them and print them without hassle has been a big improvement. The company we used before didn't allow that at all, only the doctors could edit letters and they needed a password every time so this setup feels much more convenient and practical.

Cons

I'd really change the time limit for keeping the screen open. Sometimes I get pulled away to handle something else and by the time I come back, it has already signed me out. Then I have to log in again and end up losing my place in the queue.

“Customer support staff is always available”

Pros

Whenever I need help, customer support is always there which makes a big difference. The program runs quickly, dictations are usually returned within 1 to 2 days and being able to create templates for standard dictations saves a lot of time.

Cons

At first, the surgeons were not very comfortable calling in their dictations but things improved a lot once they were able to work online instead. There have also been times when corrections showed up on reports.
