“helps spot problems, not explain their origins”
Pros
Working in a large manufacturing plant as an engineer, I can see the value in Aspen Mtell's ability to spot asset anomalies. Its failure agents analyze patterns in incoming data and help predict which equipment components are likely to fail, along with when that failure may happen.
Cons
One limitation with Aspen Mtell is that it offers very little for Root Cause Analysis. It can identify that something is wrong but it usually does not do much to explain why the anomaly is happening in the first place.
