Pros
Having real-time visibility into assets made a big difference for us especially when we needed to quickly locate equipment for MTTR, break/fix work, required production dates tied to depreciation and year-end asset location checks for tax purposes. AssetVue also gave us a way to reassess our CMDB and confirm that our so-called source of truth was actually inaccurate. That problem came from relying on manual inventory uploads and upkeep. We needed an automated system and AssetVue delivered that, helping us restore our CMDB to about 95% accuracy.
Cons
Initially, the graphs weren't my favorite but after spending more time with them, I understood they were added to make the data easier to digest compared with a basic row-and-column line item view. Since the product works more as backend software feeding into a DCIM, it's not really a major downside but as someone who prefers a more visual interface, I think that area could still be better. I also would have liked more prebuilt reports instead of having to create so many from scratch, maybe that's just me being a little lazy.
