“Quick updates keep large groups informed”

Pros

Keeping a large group of key people informed quickly and efficiently through one platform has been really useful. It also helps to have a clear record of any issues that came up during the event. Another big advantage is being able to upload documents for on-site use instead of carrying around hard copies.

Cons

At first, the platform felt a bit confusing and I didn't realize there was a desktop version available. Since then, the updates and improvements have made it more flexible and much easier to navigate. I think additional training would help address the remaining learning curve.

“management for long courses”

Pros

Using Blerter has been very trouble-free. It's especially valuable when managing a 226k point-to-point race course.

Cons

Event console was a bit difficult to work with when we were actively using it back in August 2019. It looks like there have been upgrades since then but we haven't had the chance to test it live yet.

“Incident reporting via the app is practical”

Pros

Blerter gave our volunteers and race staff a practical, user-friendly way to communicate directly with the event management team. The app kept all the important information in one place for volunteers and also gave them a messaging tool to report incidents, accidents or ask questions during the event. On the management side, the console was clear to navigate and made it easy to monitor every section of our 26.2-mile course.

Cons

The mobile app and software may feel a bit advanced for some users.
