Keeping track of trees and work orders has been really helpful.

Cons

A few parts of the workflow feel repetitive and it doesn't save common details like email addresses when sending work orders.

Getting started with this software was simple and it provides a lot of useful information. I can keep my maps as simple or as detailed as I want which makes it very flexible. Even for someone without a technical background, it's simple to learn and navigate.

Cons

The only downside that comes to mind is that it includes a huge amount of information. That said, you can customize the view and control how much you want to see.

It's very easy to use and you can keep it as simple or make it as technical as you want depending on your needs.

I wish they included having tree photo uploads included in the standard subscription instead of making that an extra.

Pros

One thing that really stands out is how customizable the software is. It also does an excellent job with comprehensive data collection, filtering and overall data management. On top of that the support team is very helpful whenever assistance is needed.

Cons

Because the program includes so many features and functions, it can take a bit of time to get fully comfortable with everything. That said, support is readily available and does a very good job of guiding you through any issues that come up.

From the start, the customer service team has been incredibly supportive while we've been using the software. The system is flexible enough to be adjusted to fit our specific needs which has been really valuable. Whenever we contact them, the response is almost immediate, along with either the recommended fix or clear guidance on how to complete the task.

Cons

Using the software can feel a bit confusing at times. There are multiple ways to do the same thing which makes the workflow less clear than it should be. I also think it would help to organize items into more specific categories or buckets. Right now something that should be simple can end up taking five steps to finish.

Starting with the core features works really well and as the software proves its value in the workflow, you can add modules to modify it to exactly what you need.

Pros

This software is very customizable. We've been able to shape it around our organization's specific needs and that has made it much easier to keep everything organized. The Excel export feature is also really useful and the Google Maps integration adds a lot of value to our workflow.

Cons

I'd still love to see admin users get even more editing and customization options especially when it comes to controlling the order of certain fields. Better cross compatibility with similar programs would also help since not every organization we work with uses TreePlotter.

Using this software has been going great. It's accurate, adapts well to different needs and offers plenty of customization. The plug ins are especially useful because they help turn the information into manageable data for urban forest management.

Cons

One frustrating part is that editing or deleting plotted points can be tricky at times. It would also be helpful to have the option to change the color of the plot points.

The amount of detail it keeps for each individual tree is really valuable and useful.

Cons

Learning how to use it takes some effort especially when it comes to generating reports and sharing maps.

One of the biggest benefits is the mass updater which cuts down a lot of the time you'd normally spend entering data. Most of the trees you'd ever need to inventory are already built into the system and the clean maps along with the charts and graphs make it much easier for residents to understand and visualize the property.

At times the website takes a while to load even when the internet connection is strong.

Having all the data for every tree asset right at hand is the biggest advantage and the system is very user friendly to work with.

Cons

The part that still needs work is integrating it with the software packages we already use.

From day one, this app has been a huge time saver for our team. The usability and functionality stand out and being able to customize data attributes and generate reports within seconds is a big reason it has become our go to software for client and tree data management. The support team has also been excellent. They're always ready to help with questions or any customizations we need. On top of that the user focused interface makes collecting, managing and mapping data very easy which saves us valuable time both in the field and back at the office.

Cons

An improvement I'd love to see would be a more customizable map export feature especially the ability to adjust legends and symbology to reflect more specific attributes.

Something that works really well is the map feature since it gives viewers a clear way to see where our projects are located. I also appreciated how much time the staff spent walking through everything with me and taking the time to answer my questions and address my concerns.

Cons

On the downside entering data directly into the spreadsheet feels slow and somewhat awkward. It would be far more efficient to enter information through a form first and then export it into a spreadsheet, rather than having to type everything straight into the spreadsheet itself. The template also does not offer much room for photo images and could use a more modern, dynamic look. That said, I do understand that more customized options are available for purchase.

Getting started with the software feels very easy because the interface is user friendly and simple to navigate. Entering data is especially convenient which makes the whole setup process feel effortless from the beginning.

I'd really like to a real time map feature that shows your current position as you're using it.

Right from the start the software was very simple to work with and includes everything we need without piling on unnecessary extras that just make things feel cluttered. Their customer support has also been really helpful and consistently very good.

Cons

Pricing is handled as a one size fits all model so a small organization ends up paying the same rate as a much larger one.

Using the functionality out in the field feels very simple which matters a lot for my company's day to day work.

A mobile app would make things more convenient when working in the field but aside from that, I really don't have any complaints.

Having a dynamic and reliable way to capture data has been something our organization really needed. As an administrator, it also lets me create and assign work duties while attaching the supporting documentation which has been very useful.

Cons

Some features have been a little confusing for the general public, such as the tree color coding and how to submit a service request though that likely comes down more to user education on our side.

Pros

From the beginning, the customer support has been excellent. Our rep has been incredibly helpful with tips, troubleshooting and adjusting user roles so the system fits our needs better. He replies very quickly by email and video chat which has made a big difference. The software itself is especially valuable for organizations that need to closely track trees or manage urban forests, including monitoring disease, wounds and pruning needs. It offers a lot for larger scale operations.

Cons

At the same time as we redefine our organization, we've realized we do not need many of the features Tree Plotter includes. We are not managing trees beyond watering them and maybe doing some pruning a few years later. Our primary use is to document the trees we have delivered and planted or to let the public showcase their own trees. Tree Plotter does not let people without an account add trees so as an administrator I have to manually add users before they can submit a tree or rely on a third party map for submissions and then enter those trees into Tree Plotter myself.

Pros

It looks capable of taking the place of Citywide's current inventory system, TRAX and could give us one platform to track CRM outcomes, handle requests, document inspections and send work out to multiple crews without friction.

Cons

Urban Forest reporting tools are very capable and the built in iTree functions are a strong addition but it still doesn't get the opportunity to use LiDAR data for tree canopy mapping. Another area we weren't able to test was our Trees QMS which is currently managed in ARC Collector.

Pros

Being able to use this on a smartphone makes the work really convenient because an employee can walk right up to a tree and enter the information on the spot. It's very easy to use and I can also map a lot of trees directly from the Google Earth view.

Cons

The only feature I really feel is missing is a tree or leaf identifier. We come across some native trees that we can't identify so having a built in way to figure out what they are would be really helpful.
