“Standout support team”
Pros
Getting started with it feels very easy and the interface is extremely user friendly. The customization features are excellent and the customer support has been top notch. The add on modules are also a really nice option to grow into as we continue using this program.
Cons
Because it depends on an internet connection, it can run slowly whenever the connection is weak.

“user friendly with responsive support”
Pros
Using this software is very simple and you can handle most of it on your own without needing much guidance. On top of that whenever an issue comes up, the customer service is quick to respond and very helpful.
Cons
This app is still evolving in certain areas so there are updates and improvements that still need to be made down the line. Aside from that, it doesn't yet cover everything we would ideally want it to do.

Using this on mobile out in the field works really well and it captures a great amount of detail points.

“versatile GIS tools”
Pros
This program is flexible enough to handle a wide range of arboricultural work. The built in GIS feature makes a big difference because you can upload both CSV files and Shapefiles which makes sharing survey points much more convenient. The add on options are thoughtfully built and clearly designed with the arboricultural industry in mind. Tree Risk Assessments are simple to carry out and the appraisal process is just as manageable. On top of that the data it captures is very detailed, giving you the information needed to put together accurate budgets for clients of any size.
Cons
Occasionally the software has crashed on me although you don't actually lose any work. The only inconvenience is having to log back in and reopen the client site. It hasn't been a major problem and I suspect it may be related to the fact that I'm using an older iPad. I also haven't noticed this issue when I'm running the program on office WiFi.

“clear reports”
Pros
One thing that really works well here is how targeted the data output is. You only use the specific information you need, without loads of unnecessary detail getting in the way or confusing clients. The reports pull out all the relevant data clearly and it can be transferred into other documents without much hassle. The system is also very user friendly and easy to work with. On top of that the multi layer mapping feature displays information clearly especially when DWG files are overlaid.
Cons
The biggest frustration for me has been with DWG related coordinate systems. This only supports a limited range and over the past year most clients either haven't assigned coordinate systems at all or they use ones the software doesn't recognise. That has cost me a lot of valuable time going back and forth between clients and Tree Plotter support even though the support team has been very helpful. I know this can be handled in other CAD programs but if that functionality were built directly into Tree Plotter, it would really live up to the strong reputation it deserves.

“Difficult to make field entrie”
Pros
Being cloud based is a real advantage and it is possible to use cell phones for running queries and entering field data. The data query feature is also very useful.
Cons
Actually entering field data in the field felt too difficult so I had to collect it another way and import it into Inventory afterward. While using the application, the scrolling and zooming could also be frustrating and sometimes pretty discouraging.

“real time updates save time”
Pros
Real time cloud updates are a big plus and being able to adjust field filters is really useful. Features like "load last" also save a lot of time during regular use.
Cons
Some of the more advanced tools aren't always very easy to use and not everything is available or easy to locate in the tutorials. It would also help to have quick reference guides for onboarding instead of needing to watch a webinar.

“accurate live asset tracking”
Pros
One of the biggest benefits of this product is being able to capture the live area where an asset or tree is located which makes inspections, identification and similar tasks much easier to document. The maps are accurate and the customization options with filters are especially useful when I need to switch between different views. Having multiple map styles, including satellite view, also comes in handy depending on the situation.
Cons
Its layering feature would be even more useful if it also supported points, lines and similar elements.

“My review”
Pros
Lets clients access the tree data directly. It makes conversations about specific trees much clearer with arborists, engineers and architects since everyone knows exactly which tree is being referenced. This software is genuinely helping protect trees on construction sites.
Cons

“feature packed app”
Pros
After trying to build simpler in house versions without any real database experience, it became clear that TreePlotter offers far more functionality than we ever expected. It's easy to use and I really appreciate how quickly the support team responds whenever questions come up.
Cons
If I reply to a text message while using it, the program kicks me out and I have to load it again.

“versatile tree inventory hub”
Pros
Having most parts of our tree inventory brought together in one platform has been really valuable. It works on any device with an internet connection which makes it very convenient to use. The interface also looks really nice and I appreciate that the public can access the software as well.
Cons
I'd really like to see the ability to close out a Work Record without first adding it to a Work Order. It would be much more convenient to open a completed Work Record and close it directly from the Work Record screen especially when there are only a handful of WRs to finish. The Work Order setup is still useful for other situations though. I'd also love a way to enter our yearly tree orders, including the number of trees and species and then have Tree Plotter automatically subtract from that inventory each time we add new Planting Locations. That kind of running total of how many trees are still available to plant would be extremely helpful.

“unreliable on ipad”
Pros
It's comes with a wide range of features and we originally bought it because it was expected to integrate with our customer service complaints program, Pathways.
Cons
On an Apple iPad though, the software crashed repeatedly when using the location setup, sometimes 5 to 6 times an hour. The repeat planting feature was unreliable and didn't consistently work and I occasionally lost data after those crashes. There was also quite a bit of duplication in the menu layout and in the process flows the icon setup couldn't support both color changes and clear icon meanings. As a result, staged works in work orders were not as easy to identify on screen compared with other tree platforms I've used.

“valuable tree mapping platform”
Pros
In less than a year of using Tree Plotter, it has already become one of the most valuable tools I use as an arborist. We've been building out an inventory of the City's trees which is still ongoing and the software has helped us identify species, evaluate tree health and condition, flag all Ash trees and make lists for treatment versus removal. It also helps us review potential public risk, generate work orders and keep a maintenance history that future City staff will be able to access and continue using. The mapping feature is probably my favorite part. No matter where I am in the City, I can pull up a tree on my laptop, check existing notes, look at trimming needs and now even see the year it was planted since we add 50 to 75 trees annually. The portability is a big plus and the program is very user friendly. Overall, it's an excellent resource to have.
Cons
Honestly there's very little this software seems to miss. If anything is lacking, I haven't come across it yet. The features feel easy to use.

“great tool for teaching”
Pros
TreePlotter has been a really practical and user friendly tool for student training and day to day use. It's also helpful for facilities staff especially since it can support database management needs. We're very pleased with the decision to add TreePlotter to our course planning and student activities toolkit.
Cons
Something we've noticed is that users need to be careful with identification since some names vary by region and the built in listing can sometimes steer students toward a misidentification. That said, this is more on our side and those mistakes have actually turned into valuable teaching moments.
