Solid and reliable platform

Pros

The chatbot works really well! It gives clear, useful information and makes things easier for me.

Cons

Fergus has a lot of great features but knowing how to use it to its full potential takes some learning. I feel like there could be a simpler version for tradespeople who are not very tech-savvy or just prefer simple software.

Could not be happier with Fergus

Pros

Fergus makes scheduling easy

Pros

The scheduling, map features and job tracking are all amazing. It keeps my field staff and finance team organized and on track.

Cons

The reporting features, especially for quoting, feel a bit limited. I need better insights into how well my sales team is performing and it would be great if the CRM side of the software could improve to support that.

Easy to use

Pros

It's easy to use, with a clean and visual layout. Custom email responses and templates save time, supplier invoice downloads (JA Russell) are a huge plus and my field staff finds job cards and forms super simple for audits and tailgates.

Cons

WIP does not download properly, so having a PDF option would be really helpful. I also wish I could customize statuses and create credits for invoices instead of voiding and recharging. Filtering quotes by groups in reports would be a great addition, too. Another thing, hazards need to be addressed by all staff but not everyone is actually scheduled for the job, which makes it tricky.

Simple way to manage paperwork

Pros

Fergus is really useful for tracking jobs from the very first inquiry all the way to sending the final invoice. Keeps everything in one place.

Cons

It takes a little time to get used to the workflow but once I got the hang of it, I realized the effort was worth it. You really get back what you put in.

Flexible & useful tool

Pros

Assigning my staff to jobs each day is quick and easy. With just a few clicks, I have everything organized and ready to go.

Cons

I first tried using it with MYOB but that did not go well, so I had to switch to Xero while setting up Fergus. The transition was a bit of a challenge.

Simplifies daily business operations

Pros

This keeps track of almost everything I need to manage the daily operations of my business. I honestly do not know how I managed before! Every detail is linked to the job, so I can always go back and find what I need.

Cons

There is no inventory tracking for leftover materials, which makes it hard to reassign them to another job. This would be a useful feature.

Must-have for plumbers & gasfitters

Pros

It covers all the basic features my business needs to run smoothly. Nothing complicated, just what I need to get things done.

Cons

Affordable and effective for smaller businesses

Pros

The pricing and quoting tools are fantastic! Having supplier price books and a search function makes quoting effortless. Plus, I love the pricing templates in the "favorites" section for bigger, more common jobs.

Cons

One thing that would be really useful is a section for writing plumbing reports for customers. If there was an option to add photos and automatically generate the report with the company letterhead and customer details, just like invoices that would be a game-changer.

Smooth switch from paperwork to digital

Pros

Fergus makes it easy to track job progress instantly, from checking if parts have arrived to seeing what details are still needed. No more digging through stacks of job sheets, this saves me so much time!

Cons

I needed a way to clearly separate warranty jobs from charge-out jobs, but I could not find an easy way to do that.

Pros

Efficient tool!

Pros

Right from the start, I found it easy to use Fergus. I was able to start invoicing right away without even needing to check the help section. A Fergus team member even called to walk me through things, which was really helpful!

Cons

Honestly, I am struggling to find anything to complain about.

Perfect for businesses in the trades

Pros

The user interface is very user-friendly and my team had no trouble using it. The mobile app is also really handy for field staff. It is basic but it does exactly what we need without any extra fuss.

Cons

Since we do facilities maintenance plumbing, an asset management feature would be really useful. A recurring jobs function would also be a big help for our workflow.
