“A flexible tool!
Pros
It is super flexible. I don't have to change how I work to fit the software instead, the software actually followsmyprocesses.
Cons
Sometimes there are just so many options it can feel a overwhelming.

“powerful reporting with deep integrations
Pros
It's really useful for reports both making them and changing them. It's faster than the cloud version and just keeps getting better. The integration is key for use and it works perfectly with Microsoft and all our SAP products.
Cons
My company integrated IFS with SAP which went okay but we still run into minor issues every now and then especially with migrating accounts. The daily use isn't very user-friendly either, jumping between modules is confusing.

“Easy access!
Pros
Super easy to access and use. Transferring our manual data to create freight rates was a simple process.
Cons
I found the pricing per consignment to be too expensive compared to other services out there.

“powerful tracking
Pros
It works great for processing purchase orders, keeping track of assets and doing daily reports. We were also really impressed with how smoothly it integrated with our other solutions.
Cons
Sometimes getting to old data for analytic reports can be a challenge. Also, the permissions workflow doesn't really make sense to us. we have to manually create one for every single situation.

“User-friendly with impressive connectivity
Pros
This product is easy to navigate and user-friendly. It's also really powerful with tons of functionality and great connectivity between all its different modules.
Cons
I've used this product both as a user and a consultant and so far, I like all its features.

“great reporting tools!
Pros
IFS makes reporting easy in a bunch of ways. First you can just use the built-in Excel export. Second, you can use the Business Analytics to set up complicated reports that run overnight, so they don't slow things down during the day. Third, there are simple built-in tools for quick reports that anyone can use and you don't need an IT pro.
Cons
Very few customization choices, no self-service access for employees and no automatic approval routines. The interface is difficult to use. If you need a manual just to download a report, something is clearly wrong with the design.

“Excel integration is a game-changer
Pros
IFS Applications can be added right into Microsoft Excel like an add-on which gives it its own tab. All the reports I create in IFS can be customized and moved over to Excel, too.
Cons
There aren't many downsides but sometimes generating a report takes a while. If the connection is even slightly lost, it gets way too slow and there's no stop button to cancel the action.

“it's let down by a hard-to-use interface
Pros
It has a ton of features and we were able to integrate it into our systems for proficiency testing. Now our services are tied to prepayment. But honestly, the best part is just being able to log off at the end of the day!
Cons
The way it's set up here, the user interface is incredibly hard to use and often gives error messages that make no sense. Today I got one that said, "External projects must have an activity sequence" on a form that didn't evenhavea space for one. That feels pretty typical.

“A powerful system!
Pros
Overall, this is a powerful system with a huge amount of functionality. It's fairly easy to use and to customize for what our company and I specifically need.
Cons
The English used in the software can be hard to follow sometimes. Customer support is... well, customer support. Also, finding third-party consulting firms in the US is challenging.

“A cluttered yet essential company tool
Pros
Most of our departments across the whole company use it, Finance, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Sales. It has good integration options and a nice programming interface. There are a lot of resources to keep making it better and the last big update felt like the biggest one yet.
Cons
Like a lot of ERPs, the user interface is cluttered with things users ignore or that IT has to hide. If your process is unusual for the industry, it takes more work to set up and support could be better.

“Stable software with a responsive team
Pros
We really like how flexible and stable it is. Working with IFS support has been great and when we've worked with their R&D team, it's clear they actually care about us as customers.
Cons
While it doesn't do everything exactly our way, IFS is actually interested in making improvements so it works better for us.

“interactive & fully customizable
Pros
It is very interactive and easy to use. There's so much you can do with it. The best part? If a screen is missing a field I need, it's easy to add one that either pulls from other data or just lets me type in whatever I want.
Cons
I really can't think of anything I don't like. Occasionally I want to see different data on a screen but if it's not there, it's easy enough to add it myself.

“Inflexible configuration and a flawed implementation
Pros
The training options are good and support usually responds pretty quickly. Once you learn how to 'think like IFS,' getting around in the system is pretty easy.
Cons
The configuration is inflexible and it seems geared towards specific types of businesses. Our custom manufacturing makes a lot of the modules hard to use well. Our implementation team either didn't consider things properly or configured things wrong a decade ago and we're still paying for it. Nothing is easy to update, you can't archive old options in lists, there are no workflows and setting permissions is a nightmare.

“Good for tracking, search is slow
Pros
I love being able to track, find and edit items across multiple sites in our warehouse. The search feature is great too like being able to track a maintenance work order not just by the mechanic but down to the minute-by-minute progress.
Cons
Search queries can take a long time and when they do, there's no "cancel" button. People just force-close the program and restart it. Sometimes it also freezes if you try to do too many things at once.

“good but not friendly
Pros
Our company uses one of the IFS modules to manage HR for over 12,000 employees across our division. The system is built for big organizations like ours. It lets us keep historical data, create different business entities and control who has access to what.
Cons
Very little customization, no employee self-service, no automated approval workflows and a very user-unfriendly interface. If you need an instruction manual just to download a report, the UX design is clearly off.

“Lots of features!!
Pros
It's user-friendly, has an open database structure and is easy to interface and integrate with other systems. Automation is simple, there are unlimited ways to configure it and create custom reports and it just has a lot of features.
Cons
It's extremely expensive to buy and maintain. Customer support tickets are slow to process and there's no local support available to us.

“A very complete package
Pros
What I like most about this software is that the possibilities feel endless. It's a very complete package.
Cons
What I don't like is that it's not easy to learn or use at first. For example, to get a pick list you have to create it, print it, keep the number, then go into the print manager to finally get it... it's just not efficient.

“All connected, errors confusing
Pros
All the modules are connected, which makes consolidating information easy. The interface is quick and because licenses are assigned to users, the software is available 24/7.
Cons
I wish there were clearer procedures or better support. We get a lot of error messages and most of the time we don't know how to fix them ourselves.

“great for consolidating global data
Pros
It was a great choice for us because we have to consolidate data from multiple countries. The reporting module gives you the flexibility to create the exact reports you need.
Cons
There was a longer learning curve with IFS than with other software I've used. When you're dealing with multiple entities, there are just so many steps to go through.

“very poor support team
Pros
It has so many functionalities that do exactly what we want. IFS seems interactive and with the system manual, you can even start figuring out some small things on your own.
Cons
We often get bad advice where the IFS consultants don't seem to know how their own system works. We end up having to investigate and test functionalities ourselves. How they handle bugs isn't customer-friendly even if they admit a design mistake, they're unlikely to fix it. Another big downside is there's no large, open online community for help.
