It has been a great help for me

Pros

I use its 9 modules: inventory, unit, work order, billing, fuel and fluids, history, owners, suppliers and billing. I particularly like the History module for tracking upcoming maintenance and the Inventory module for managing stock.

Cons

I haven't found any real weak points in the software, the modules I use work very well. One small thing: in the fuel and fluids module, when you finish entering data and press enter, it doesn't immediately show the new entry like it used to.

Excellent fleet management software

Pros

What I love in it are the work orders, inventory and work order management , they are the most important features for me.

Cons

Not all queries and reports are customizable, which occasionally requires some modifications.

Benefits and drawbacks of MIR-RT

Pros

The integration with GEOTAB, TRACTION, SAGE, etc was really helpful for us.

Cons

We asked for the percentage of time our vehicles are operational versus downtime but the technician couldn't help us with that. The distinction between "note" and "repair" is not ideal. Repairs entered during a maintenance session don't appear when searching for notes but the opposite works. We should have just the option to select either "note" or "repair," not both.

Quick performance

Pros

Simple, quick, and functional for tracking inspections. What I love is its simplicity, its modules and its numerous queries. It's really been a great fit.

Cons

In the notes section, you have to enter them one by one. It would be helpful to send them in bulk.

Excellent software as a whole

Pros

We use MIR to manage our fleet, uniforms, inventory, fuel purchases and security rounds. It really helps centralize a lot of our operations into one place.

Cons

There are performance issues and there are drawbacks to using software that doesn't have a proper database (if you didn't select this during installation).

Highly adaptable software to meet needs

Pros

The variety of configurable modules is great and the customer service is excellent. For our business, it has become essential to track machinery hourly costs and MIR is a great tool for ensuring data accuracy.

Cons

The learning curve is long and it can be overwhelming because there are so many features, not all of which are relevant to everyone.

Amazing Software for utilization

Pros

Work orders are entered progressively along with parts, and only one person enters the invoices instead of two.

Cons

It's a bit hard at first but with practice, the software becomes easy to use.

Pros

MIR-RT has been a great help for mechanics to create work orders.

Cons

The only problem is that you can't reopen documents once they've been closed.

I appreciate it

Pros

Super user-friendly and you can also make modifications to fit our specific needs.

Cons

Reports are not flexible enough. For example the "due oil changes" report isn't clear enough. It would be better if upcoming changes were highlighted in yellow and overdue ones in red to make them easier to identify. It would also help to use the same color code for warranties and other features.

Using it since 2017, its been good

Pros

The software allows for precise tracking of our employees' work, as well as maintenance for our clients and fleet. We've been using it since 2017 and the updates are always relevant with our feedback integrated into new versions.

Cons

Quick billing at the counter requires a few extra steps if you start from the work order but the benefits of the software far outweigh these small difficulties.

An efficient, simple and productive software

Pros

We appreciate how MIR-RT manages work orders, inventory and billing. One of its strengths is real-time management with a scanning/chip system for our mechanics. It helps us evaluate repairs and productivity and easily gather information for our customers.

Cons

Some minor improvements could make it easier to use. For example, the work order requests limit us once the request is marked "completed." It's also impossible to open a different module's window (work orders, inventory, owners etc) or open another MIR session when one is already open. These are small fixes that will improve with time and updates and I'm not concerned.

MIR-RT = A top-tier solution

Pros

MIR-RT is very versatile, intuitive and complete. It's developed by a passionate team that is always trying to improve the software for us.

Cons

Yes there are a few things missing, but is it a problem? No. The entire DataDis team listens to their clients and develops MIR-RT based on their needs.

Excellent features

Pros

The electronic shop, integration for invoice entry after an order and definitely the French language service are all really useful.

Cons

It takes too many clicks to get to the desired pages and the multi-page opening could be improved. The label writing needs some work.

Good fleet management and maintenance

Pros

It's great for tracking periodic maintenance for all our equipment, from trucks to heavy machinery.

Cons

The query management is difficult, it's hard to extract exactly what we want in a table. Also you can't add a single part to a unit without opening a work order. But aside from that, MIR is a very comprehensive program that evolves with time.

Its reliable and effective

Pros

We really like the reliability of inventory management. Sorting by code in work orders helps close invoices and the management of work orders in orders is also great. Task planning for mechanics is a plus.

Cons

We would like a module for unit sales. We also want the ability to manage multi-location inventories. The management of cores isn't designed for sales at the counter or on work orders. Cores should be treated as linked parts. We also want to improve the rigidity of the scheduling module like being able to assign multiple tasks to a mechanic at the same time.

Not the right choice for truck repair businesses

Pros

The training is thorough and tracking parts and work done to units is easy.

Cons

Fluctuating part costs (designed for truck fleets, not retail applications). Not very user-friendly (a bit clunky). Times for different types of the same work (for example, 3 hours of brake work is totaled but we want to assign 2 hours for caliper replacement and 1 hour for pad replacement; we can separate it but can't edit the labor description).

A huge fan and super user of MIR-RT

Pros

It's very similar to Microsoft Excel, easy to navigate and set up. It has a large selection of reports that can be run to meet any request. Maintenance points are easy to populate, and the options to support internal and external entries export well into accounting. The response times for support are quick, and the filters on each screen (unit, work order PO) are handy for narrowing search results.

Cons

We can't modify the tax amount on invoices and multiple entries are required if there's more than one unit on the vendor invoice. Some initial entries can't be cleared from the main work order screen, which is unsightly. I was told this would be fixed with updates but after 4 or 5 updates, it still hasn't been resolved.
