“It is the right choice for you”
Pros
It is quite useful because they let us see exactly what our drivers see. They are especially helpful when incidents happen or when we need to check on something important.
Cons
My only concern is that it runs on a cellular-based telematics system which means it can lose connection if there's no good cell coverage. As a trucking company, it is stressful sending drivers up north because the system cuts out when the signal drops.

“Not a trustworthy company”
Pros
There are some benefits for sure, but I won't do business with a company like this. Check out my review below for the details.
Cons
Their customer service is poor. We had six dashcams with them for three years and when I tried to cancel at the end of the contract, I found out about their sneaky auto-renewal policy. You have to let them know 30 days in advance, or they'll charge you for another full year. I contacted them right at the end but they refused to refund me and charged the full $1,600. I would have happily paid for a one month extension but they demanded the full amount. Feels like a scam. I was planning to keep other products with them but after this no way. Good luck to this company trying to grow with these shady policies. So if you are looking for dashcams, check out Motive. They even filed a lawsuit against Samsara.

“Be careful when locking into a contract”
Pros
I like that I can see where my fleet is at any time. But honestly, all the extra features they offer just end up being problematic for the drivers.
Cons
If you are a growing company, be careful before signing a contract with them. If any of your vehicles sit idle for more than a week or two, expect dead batteries because Samsara's devices drain power fast. Customer service is a joke as they just keep passing you around until they close your ticket with no solution. Your account rep will change constantly and you'll be left with zero support. I tried using a self-contained tracker to avoid the battery drain but those require a special, non-rechargeable battery that Samsara makes you buy from them. If you want it to track more than a few times a week, you have to replace the battery every month. Plus, the location tracking is so inaccurate that it will only give you a general area within a 1/4 mile. I tried everything like calls, emails support tickets but they would not fix it. And on top of that, they made me pay out the remainder of my 3 year contract for these useless devices. The driver training features were also a mess. The system constantly told drivers they were about to get in an accident throughout the day. I had to turn it off immediately before my whole team quit over that annoying voice.

“Not the best GPS tracker out there”
Pros
Nothing. At first, I was really impressed with the product and its features. But no feature is worth the headache this system has caused.
Cons
The contract is full of hidden terms that make it nearly impossible to leave once you are locked in. Plus their customer support is the worst I have ever dealt with.

Pros
Samsara's hardware and software are solid. Hardly any downtime and it scales well as our business grows, which is exactly what we need.
Cons
One issue I am facing is that I am not receiving email notifications or alerts like I should.

“Pricey, yet packed with great features”
Pros
The best part for us was how the online platform is set up. It is easy to pull up the data we need, rename vehicles, assign drivers, check mileage and view fault codes. Plus Samsara has all the key features we wanted in a GPS tracking system like real-time tracking, trip history, IFTA details and fault codes.
Cons
I am reviewing Samsara based on my experience at my previous company. Honestly, we didn't really have any complaints. We decided not to renew after our 3 year contract ended, but that was only because the company downsized and couldn't justify the cost. The hardware and software worked well and everything was easy to install and use.

What I love most about Samsara is the real time location tracking. It also shows us how fast our drivers are going, which is great.

“One of the best E Log book solutions”
Pros
It is easy to install and use. We get truck and trailer tracking, plus a dash cam option. And it is all built to follow DOT regulations.
Cons
Trailer tracking slows down sometimes, but overall it still works better than other systems I have used.

“Decent product for its cost”
Pros
The features are great. Some of my fav are AI cameras, simple AI driver assignments, driver coaching and an accurate GPS system. Also, they are not like other companies where they offer something, but it doesn't work. All the features that I have used so far actually work.
Cons
It is a bit on the pricey side, but I really cannot think of any major downsides at the moment.

Pros
I like nothing about it. Even though the cameras are decent but just being able to see is not enough. I expected more from a system like this.
Cons
There is no help or customer service available. Nobody responds to anything whenever I try to get in touch, which is frustrating.
