“Highly configurable SaaS solution”
Pros
It has been a highly configurable SaaS solution for us and the interface is user-friendly enough that a knowledgeable business user can manage it without needing IT involved. That flexibility makes it possible to adjust quickly when regulations change or the business has new requirements. One feature I especially value is the configuration change management capability since it lets us make updates and test them in a separate environment before moving anything into production. It also includes native import/export features along with an open API which helps a lot with integrations to other systems. ProcessUnity recently added AI functionality as well and that should help our Information Security team shorten review times. Their support team has consistently been strong, with fast response times and deep knowledge of the platform. Over the 7 years I've used it, we've only had two service interruptions and both were resolved in under 4 hours.
Cons
Vendor contact management can be frustrating. Pulling a report to extract contacts becomes difficult when a single vendor has multiple contacts tied to it. On top of that, ProcessUnity has been clear that it offers only basic contract management such as user access restrictions, date tracking and manual clause tracking and that it is not intended to be a full CLM solution. I also haven't seen any meaningful progress in that area over the last 5 years. Another downside is the a la carte pricing model for certain features. While that approach does have some advantages, it can also leave you feeling like you're being nickel-and-dimed.

“State-of-the-art platform”
Pros
This feels like a state-of-the-art platform that connects our business with vendor contacts and helps us carry out a thorough, reliable vendor risk security assessment.
Cons
We'd still like to see more report templates to support management decision-making.

“Can be customized”
Pros
A big advantage is how much it can be customized and automated which makes it possible to build efficient workflows that fit even very complex third-party risk management programs. The interface is user-friendly, the reporting is strong and integrations such as the Global Risk Exchange add real value by simplifying data access and helping teams stay proactive about risk throughout the full lifecycle.
Cons
slow page loads and occasional timeouts are annoying. Users also mention that its Contract Lifecycle Management capabilities feel limited and both administrators and end users can face a fairly steep learning curve. That becomes even more noticeable when configurations get more complex, creating challenges for internal teams and third parties alike. Even with those issues, the platform is still widely viewed as highly configurable for core risk management needs.

“Custom workflows”
Pros
I appreciate how customizable it is. The workflows and checks can be set up to match your own internal process instead of forcing you into a rigid structure.
Cons
A real challenge comes up when there is no documentation explaining why certain customizations were made. For a new administrator, that lack of background makes it hard to understand the existing setup. Before making any updates, they have to spend time digging through the system and piecing together the reasoning behind earlier decisions which slows everything down and makes changes more complicated than they should be.

“Valuable risk insights”
Pros
It is a highly customizable platform with a lot of depth behind it. Its reporting features, along with the dashboard functionality, provide broad visibility and meaningful risk insights.
Cons
That same level of powerful configuration can also make ongoing changes within the platform more challenging to manage.

“adaptable platform”
Pros
It's highly adaptable and can be shaped around the way our team already works which makes it a strong fit for our processes.
Cons
Dashboards could use improvement. They work fine but they still feel pretty basic and somewhat limited. It would be helpful to control several visuals with a single filter and having more visualization options, closer to what PowerBI offers, would make reporting much stronger. A feature similar to an Excel pivot table would also be a welcome addition.

“Everything in one place”
Pros
Having everything stored in one place makes it incredibly convenient, especially when I need to pull logs tied to a specific entity. I use it every day so it honestly feels like a gold mine. Replacing or updating documents is simple and with just a basic login I can get to any file I need. It works well with all the common formats I use regularly, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF which makes it useful for bringing files from different areas together. The platform is user-friendly and it only takes a few minutes to understand how to use the portal and find what you need. If something is unclear or doesn't work as expected, the built-in help feature and customer support are there and issues usually get resolved within 24 hours.
Cons
I really haven't run into any drawbacks yet.

“Flexible logic”
Pros
Using it feels very simple and the logic is simple to adjust whenever changes are needed.
Cons
The speed could be improved and it would be better if all vendor and contractor modules, along with separate instances, were integrated into a single place.

“Well-trained team”
Pros
Working with it has been a really positive experience. Their team is incredibly knowledgeable, responsive and helpful whenever needed. On top of that, the cloud-based application they built is highly versatile and simple to configure. Even though the company mainly focuses on helping clients manage vendor risk, the platform can be configured to handle far more than that. We've been using ProcessUnity for 8 years as our GRC application to support daily operations and it covers everything we need, including our SOX program, risk management program, business continuity program, vendor risk management program, cybersecurity program and more. The flexibility of the application is outstanding, especially when it comes to building custom workflows that match your organization and specific business processes.
Cons
I can't think of any downsides. Everything we've wanted the application to do, it has been able to handle.

“Extremely flexible platform”
Pros
It is an extremely flexible platform that let us shape the system around our specific needs. It has improved how well we understand risk and helped us direct our efforts toward the areas with the highest exposure. A lot of the manual TPRM work is now automated and the reporting tools make it fast to pull together summaries and communicate clearly with senior leadership and the board.
Cons
It does take some programming or more advanced configuration knowledge to get the most out of it but the Assurance Services team is excellent and absolutely worth the investment if you need support or help building the right skills to make it work.

“Powerful automation and flexibility”
Pros
There's a lot of potential here when it comes to automation and customization which makes the platform feel very adaptable to different needs.
Cons
Something that's missing is the ability to communicate with vendors directly inside the application itself.

“Plenty of integration options”
Pros
There are lots of integration options you can add and use based on what your team specifically needs which makes the platform feel very adaptable.
Cons
Communicating with both the business and the supplier inside the platform isn't very user-friendly so that part could be improved.

“Transformed how we handle VRM”
Pros
It has completely transformed the way our organization handles VRM. Their top-tier Engineering, Product and Project teams made the customization and implementation process feel smooth from start to finish. They've truly acted like partners every step of the way.
Cons
I don't have anything negative to say about it. They've been genuine partners all the way through.
