“Affordable with reliable payroll functions
Pros
Using BrightPay Connect has been really easy for me as the interface is user friendly, the support team is excellent and also it is affordable for smaller teams. Plus the payroll and HR functions are quite reliable.
Cons
It is somewhat limited compared with larger HR and payroll suites. Such as getting everything set up and learning the system can take some time and a few features or integrations feel clunky or are missing.

Pros
It is quite user friendly and simple to navigate so both beginners and seasoned professionals can use it without much effort.
Cons
My only complaint is the switch to cloud-based as I personally liked the desktop app more but it does not ruin the experience for me.

Cons
I find it annoying when an employee's sick leave spans two tax years because of that I have to fix it manually. But the good thing is that it is only happened a few times in four years and they may have already fixed it.

Well I am really happy that it's online and connects with other software and HMRC.
Cons
The per-user pricing is frustrating as I'd prefer to be charged based on the number of clients I manage. Also invoicing does not sync properly with QuickBooks.

“Mobile app matches browser version
Pros
The mobile app has all the same features as the browser version. Plus for quick checks and tasks, I find it much easier to just open the app than to turn on my computer and log into the portal.
Cons
As an employee using the system, I dont run into many problems. yes I am a bit annoyed that I cannot easily update my personal details but I understand why leadership needs to control those changes.

“simplifies payroll but has a learning curve
Pros
This software makes handling payroll far easier. The interface is also clean and user friendly so inputting employee salary details is quick and painless. It also carries forward figures month after month automatically and highlights any changes or variations for me.
Cons
When I tried to set up an employer mid-year, I struggled a bit until I got used to entering all the required details. Aside from that initial learning curve, I think it's quite good.

What I really like is how user-friendly the software is and it has a very well designed interface. I have also found customer support to be outstanding.
Cons
Though I know that's planned still I'd like it to be cloud-based and I wish it had more batch processing options.

Pros
It is pretty easy to use. Also the support is excellent and I love that it keeps sending follow-up emails until the client finally replies.
Cons
Nothing major but I'd really like every how-to video to include spoken guidance so I can follow along without having to read on-screen text.

Overall I find this software brilliant. As it keeps me organized, lets me sign documents securely and looks professional. I also really like the excellent customer service as they solve any issues quickly.

“All features in one complete system
Pros
After trying many different software options, I finally found it. Some systems had a client database but needed a lot of manual work to set up task flows especially when templates were needed. Others had a few useful tools like engagement letters but were missing other important features. So I ended up using three or four different platforms just to manage everything. But this one changed that by bringing all the features I needed into one complete system.
Cons
Well the filtering options are somewhat awkward to use but honestly that's a small compromise for everything else it delivers.

“Easy setup with fantastic support
Pros
Setting it up was a way too easy and I was up and running in no time. Also I am really fond of the task management features as they let me easily spot upcoming deadlines and see which team members are handling each item. The proposal emails and the ability to e-sign LOEs and T&Cs have been incredibly useful too and being able to carry out AML ID checks directly inside the program has been fantastic.
Cons
I like how task templates are broken down but it's annoying that the breakdowns do not carry over automatically when I create a new task. Plus it slows me down and can be frustrating though I am hopeful the upcoming workflow features will fix this and make things much smoother.

“Cuts admin needs..
Pros
After failing to set up another system for my firm, I tried this one and it was a breath of fresh air. I had a one on one session to go through the platform and ask questions which really helped me get started. They send weekly tasks and short videos to guide me and there are also walkthroughs inside the app I can replay anytime. Also the support team and my dedicated account manager have been fantastic as they are always ready to help. Overall it's cut down on admin work. As I can apply for HMRC authorisation directly, get signed documents and clients can upload files securely. Plus sending the same message to multiple clients at once saves me lots of time and knowing if a client has opened an email is a really useful bonus.
Cons
Probably the most frustrating part for me was getting the templates set up and tweaking them to meet our requirements. Since I am registered with ICB there are specific paragraphs that must appear in documents and I ended up having to add those manually and go through every template to make sure they were included. That process was time-consuming and a bit tedious, having to check each individual template felt like it took up a surprising amount of my time.

The timeline helps me stay organized as I can track deadlines and monitor progress easily.
Cons
Since I use Taxfiler, I'd really like it if outstanding tax and payment info could sync directly into each client's AM record so I do not have to track them separately.
