timely & user-friendly tool

Pros

I love how timely everything is..most months the salary is credited even before the month ends which is such a relief. Customer support is super quick whenever I need them and the whole platform is just so easy to use. It really takes the stress out of payroll.

Cons

It does not have tax-saving benefits for India which is a bit of a downside. But if they add that, it would definitely be the best!

Smooth setup with excellent support

Pros

My team loves how easy it is to use. It automatically updates taxes for both federal and state and transferring everything to the accounting software is smooth! It's really simple to operate and we are all happy with it.

Cons

When I install the payroll update the payroll stops running. It could be a system glitch. Also some of the custom reports are a bit of issue.

Easy to use but has some duplication issues

Pros

It is super user-friendly and the best part is that I can use it anywhere. I don't need to be tied to a physical office anymore.

Cons

It's easy to accidentally duplicate files which can be time-consuming if you are not setting up your batches just right.

Forced to purchase app twice for start of year upgrade, ZERO response from Tech Support

Pros

The upgrade for 2022 was expected to be simple, but unfortunately, it wasn't as smooth as anticipated.

Cons

We purchased the 2022 upgrade and installed it on our old computer. However, we later had to acquire a newer computer, which we did. Unfortunately, CheckMark's tech support did not respond to our emails, phone calls, or online trouble tickets. We ended up purchasing a completely new software application for $469, right after upgrading for several hundred dollars. Moreover, the installation process resulted in the loss of the old company databases, which had to be reimported from the old drive, causing additional issues.

Pros

I've been a user of this product for over 10 years. It has consistently proven to be easy to set up and use.

Cons

This year, the product has not met our needs. I had to manually input federal withholding for one employee due to incorrect calculations (this issue has been resolved). Currently, I am manually calculating accrued vacation and sick time for employees since the software fails to add vacation and sick time for all employees. I chose this software specifically to avoid manually tracking accruals.

quick setup & easy management

Pros

What I really like about this software is how easy it is to set up and manage. I can update accounts and make changes without any difficulty. Being able to add or delete items in the play file makes it our top choice for the company.

Cons

I have not come across anything I dislike about the software so far. But I do think there's no option to file taxes directly though it's not a big deal.

Great support but more report options needed

Pros

No monthly or recurring fees! I can run payroll daily, weekly or semi-monthly and I have been using it for almost 4 months now. I'm really happy with it. A friend recommended it to me and we started with the free trial. We ran 4 payrolls without paying anything! The customer support is awesome and really supportive.

Cons

Nothing much to dislike at the moment. I did suggest to it that they offer more options for custom reports and that would definitely be helpful.

Fast and easy to use

Pros

Everything went smoothly from downloading the trial to onboarding. Switching from my previous payroll company was nerve-wracking but it made it so easy. The setup was simple and I just had to upload my previous payroll file in .CSV format. I did run into a small issue during setup but the support team was quick to help over the phone and online.

Cons

So far nothing negative. We asked if they could make the payroll compatible with MAC-Sierra and they have already done it!

simple transition and quick support

Pros

After using several payroll services over the years, we finally decided on CheckMark Payroll and it's been totally worth it. It's easy to use, has no recurring fees and the customer service team is always ready to help when I need it.

Cons

They should add more tutorial videos on the website.
