Pros

The customer service team is quick to respond, and I find the system relatively easy to use.

Cons

We used to have a dedicated contact/account manager, but now we only have a general customer support line and email for any questions. The password reset feature is problematic for many employees. The system also needs improvements for payroll approvals and document signing.

Implementation Made Easy, Excellent Service, HR Modules equals Automation

Pros

Our company used to rely on another well-known but outdated payroll provider for years, and we encountered many service issues with them. Transitioning was a tough decision because of the work involved. Our HR team spent hours talking with sales reps and watching demos to explore various options, updated technology, and additional features. Among all the demos, CheckWriters impressed us the most. We met Chris Landy, the Account Executive, at the 2023 SHRM Conference, and he has been following up regularly to ensure CheckWriters meets all our needs. Their dedicated implementation and training team, including Tracy Fleming and Kayla Goller, were key to our success with this new platform. The service from CheckWriters is far superior to the industry giants. With several new HR modules, we have automated processes and saved time. The Payroll Module is simple and makes payroll runs a hassle free task. The Recruit Module efficiently attracts candidates by pushing job postings to 100 job boards with just one click. The templates streamline the screening and hiring processes, saving us a significant amount of time. Although changing providers is a lengthy and demanding process, moving to CheckWriters has been worth every bit of the effort. They work closely with you from the start to ensure success and are always available via email or phone. We are thrilled with our decision to switch to CheckWriters and highly recommend it to any business seeking automation, improved service, and cost savings!

Cons

There are features we are not using at the moment, but we plan to explore them in the future. Honestly, there is not much I dislike about CheckWriters. The reporting is quite different from what we are used to, and it is taken some time to figure out how to create report templates. However, change always brings challenges and learning opportunities!

Implementation with Checkwriters

Pros

What I like the most about Checkwriters is their customer service. Everyone we have interacted with, from the sales team to the full implementation crew, has been fantastic!

Cons

I think it would be fantastic if Checkwriters allowed users to suggest processes they have found useful in other software platforms. Many Checkwriters users have experience with various platforms, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. Having a recommendation section would be a great way for users to contribute suggestions.

Not just another payroll processor!

Pros

We have been dealing with a major payroll processing company for years and faced countless issues trying to get their product to work for our schools payroll. Since we switched to Checkwriters, we have managed to eliminate three other timekeeping software systems and save hours of manual data entry by consolidating everything into one smooth process. Our onboarding has also transformed from a tedious paper-based procedure to a simple online step-by-step guide. Previously, each payroll run required extensive journal entries and employee reallocation, Checkwriters has streamlined this completely, handling it all automatically. The implementation went off without a hitch, and their customer service has been exceptional. I only regret not switching to Checkwriters sooner!

Cons

The main area for improvement I have noticed is the knowledge base. Most of the issues we have encountered were not covered there, though customer service has been excellent in helping us. I am also getting the hang of reporting but I wish the system had more pre-built reports available.

Easy Transition to Checkwriters!

Pros

They made the transition from our previous payroll company incredibly smooth! Our payroll specialist is almost always available, and if not, there is always someone else ready to answer questions and address concerns. The platform is user-friendly and easy to learn.

Cons

So far, I have no complaints. We became customers in June.

Excellent customer service by James Helou!

Pros

Checkwriters offers excellent service and working with James has been a pleasure. He is consistently professional and efficient, always maintaining a friendly demeanor. Even if he is having a rough day, he never shows it. When James is not available, the other staff members are equally helpful. Plus, Checkwriters keeps up with the latest tax laws, minimum wage standards, and other changes which makes our job much easier.

Cons

There is really nothing about Checkwriters that we dislike. Occasionally, the phone wait time can be a bit long, but if I leave a message, they usually return my call within a reasonable timeframe.

Incredible customer service!

Pros

I love that I can make a call and quickly get a real person on the line, along with an answer within minutes! I have worked with other payroll companies but Checkwriters stands out with the best customer service I've experienced.

Cons

I find the system a bit clunky in some areas. While the software functions well, I am frustrated by having to enter each days hours separately, then save and repeat for each day. It would be much more convenient if it could pre-fill the previous weeks data which allows me to just make adjustments.

Pros

Pros

The app and website are well-organized and user-friendly. It's easy to find the information we need and track past and present data. Additionally, locating important documents is hassle-free.

Cons

Certain tabs seem to be malfunctioning as they fail to navigate to the intended pages. I'm uncertain whether this is due to user error or an issue with the app itself.
