Evaluation of technical skills is spot on for me. It saved me time and increased efficiency with the automatic grading system, which makes it so much easier to review and grade responses. There's also a lot of flexibility in how the tests are set up.

Cons

For me the main downside is that, the platform is focused on technical skills. It doesn't do much for assessing soft skills.

One of the best things I like is that for the monthly plan, there's no limit to the number of candidates you can add for assessments, unlike other platforms where you only get a maximum of 30 slots. This tool is super easy to set up and really user friendly.

Cons

I can't think of anything negative. It works really well for companies like mine that hire a lot of tech talent.

I've used this tool both as a developer and as an employer and I can honestly say it's a great assessment tool. One of Codility's key advantages is how easily it allows employers to assess the coding skills of a bunch of job applicants. Candidates can take their time working through the online coding tasks and the website is really easy to use. As a developer, I use this tool to check my own coding skills and to learn new programming techniques along the way.

Cons

I'd prefer if there was an offline mode. Since it depends completely on the internet, some users can't enjoy all the features. Also, if tests were optionally timed, developers would have a better chance to finish without pressure.

It's easy to use and I can always find any old questions easily since they're listed right next to each other. I can also reconnect and start my test again if the time has already expired. The test questions have a longer resolution period, so within 1-2 months, anyone can come back, solve the problems and earn certificates for solving them.

Sometimes I have to rely on my own computer setup before adding code to this tool because it doesn't have features like autocomplete and I end up making my own test cases which takes extra time.

There isn't a debugging pane, so it's hard for me to run unit tests before I submit my solution.

To me, the license package seems too broad and costly which might suit body rental companies but not businesses that recruit internally.

It's deployable and easier for my HR teams who don't necessarily understand code. Plus, I think the ability to compare one programmer's skills with others is a cool feature.

I get frustrated because many problems aren't fully explained and applicants can fail even if their code is thorough. The strict time limits don't reflect real life and the IDE feels limited, it even deletes my code if I switch languages for a moment.
