“Better sales bonuses clearer payouts
Pros
Using Compose's sales commission feature helped us better manage sales bonuses. Plus it made commission rules clearer and payout processing smoother so payments went out on time and it became easy to connect sales performance directly to employee pay.
Cons
When Apex had to manage a very large number of customers and commission records for AT&T, uploading online commission data was slower than expected. That slowdown delayed commission calculations and meant we had to add extra checks to make sure nothing was missed.

“Real-time reporting supports quick decisions
Pros
Its real-time reporting and analytics allowed me to quickly pull together a brief summary of our company's compensation data. That immediate visibility really supported my decision-making and made compensation exposures clear across every department.
Cons
I ran into occasional slowdowns when I generated large reports in the system. They didn't happen often but when they did they caused noticeable delays, which was frustrating at critical planning moments.

“Flexible platform
Pros
I really like the flexibility as it lets us create a strong, positive experience for the business. Equally important is the customer service as our reps and support team are knowledgeable and always quick to respond.
Cons
We do have some non-essential features like better sorting and filtering that I think could still be improved. Though the latest update added some upgrades but I am hoping for more enhancements in the future.

“easy navigation with clean layout
Pros
Talking with the teams that use Compose for their monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual and merit review cycles, I often hear the same compliments. Like it is easy to find my way around the platform. Plus I find the key data is presented in a clean, user friendly layout that's simple to interpret. Those are the top comments I regularly hear from them.
Cons
I'd really like the option to run more reports straight out of the system. We keep and upload a huge amount of data into the platform, so having that kind of built-in reporting capability would make a big difference.

“Easy setup and seamless data between apps
Pros
Our Global Total Rewards Team chose Decusoft COMPOSE to replace PayReview, so it made sense for our Global Sales Team to also partner with Decusoft and replace our sales compensation tool. What really stood out was how easy the setup and implementation were and how smoothly data moves between the two apps which became major selling points for us.
Cons
A number of features in it had to be developed further to meet our Global Sales Compensation requirements. Even though those capabilities weren't included in the out of the box product, the team implemented them quickly and delivered exactly what we specified.

“handled complex global requirements perfectly
Pros
As a large global company, we had very specific needs for our compensation planner that other platforms could not meet. But Compose handled everything like every type of calculation, bonus structure and business rule we gave it.
Cons
When we first implemented an older release it reminded us a lot of an Excel sheet, visually and in usability. Since then the interface has been refreshed and we now notice it has a much more modern look.

We are getting a flexible, custom solution that should finally let us stop using spreadsheets!
Cons
Because the system is so open-ended, it's easy to end up with designs that do not quite work. Also balancing customization with keeping things simple is tricky so you have to rely on your own teams judgment.

Pros
The software is very user-friendly. Also the user guide is huge but we really only use it for yearly or rare tasks. But everything I need is usually right where I expect it and I can customize just about anything. Such as if you don't like a column? I can simply remove it. It was a relief to find that it handled almost all of our complex calculations about 99% of them which saved us a lot of trouble.
Cons
We had trouble with the data import and there is almost no room for error and once a file is loaded, fixing mistakes is extremely hard. Because of that, we could not let just anyone enter data. Also the imported records were wrong and we had to reload everything from scratch to fix it.

“Flexible support but still adapting to it
Pros
We really appreciated how flexible the support team was in adapting the platform to our unique compensation setup. Also was have been able to track and run reports for several different pay components each with its own set of rules.
Cons
I did find navigating the security configuration somewhat tricky at first but the support squad really pulled through and helped get us fully set up.

I really like how easy it is to use, how simple the configuration process is, the breadth of customization options available and the helpfulness of customer service.
Cons

“Configurable platform with patient guidance
Pros
The platform is so configurable and it's handled every challenge we've thrown it. Also our support team is easy to work with as they are quick to respond, patient and often offer useful suggestions when we are unsure of the best way to handle something.
Cons
As with any new software, there was a learning curve and along the way we've suggested a few improvements related to how our data is sent and how we need to use it. I appreciate that the support team has been receptive and has implemented the changes they were able to.

COMPOSE is highly customizable. In my organization, we run a very complex performance-based bonus program and are also managing ESOP for the first time since going public. And this tool was tailored exactly to what we needed. The best thing is that the team recreated the look and feel of our old spreadsheets before we fully switched over. Customer support here is the best I have experienced with any HR software. I often hear that poor support is why people leave other platforms but that has not been our experience. Their team responds quickly, knows the product inside out and is genuinely helpful often going far beyond what I expected. We had quite a few issues on our side during implementation but the team stepped in and carried most of the load. Also their implementation team was hands-on throughout and honestly a pleasure to work with.
Cons
Sometimes pages load too slowly and the overall interface feels plain and not very attractive.

“Complete control with intuitive design
Pros
When we decided to buy and roll out COMPOSE in 2016, it was because we needed a compensation planning tool for our managers that our HR system could not provide. What sets it apart is how much control it gives you over the data. As I can customize fields and include both historical and market info for managers to use during pay planning. Also the team really listens to compensation professionals. They guided us through every step of setup and training with helpful advice. Their support was always focused on what we needed and overall the product is very intuitive for both managers and admins.
Cons
Before joining this organization, I had worked somewhere that built its own compensation planning tool, so at first I found it odd that historical data isn't displayed side by side with current figures. After we went live, though it quickly became habit to click through the links to pull up past data. It honestly just required a short adjustment in how I worked with the system as a user.

“Smooth cycles with fast support
Pros
The interface is quite user-friendly. I've been working with Compose for several years and every time I roll out new plans annually the process goes smoothly. Running monthly and quarterly bonus cycles takes just a couple clicks. Also their customer support responds fast and is genuinely helpful.
Cons
At the moment I honestly can't think of anything I dislike. After I upgraded to the latest version, my overall experience with the system only got better.
