“Good overall”
Pros
Biggest thing I appreciate is how organized everything feels. It's genuinely user friendly and keeping track of my paychecks alongside my time-off requests has become a lot more manageable. Tasks that used to take effort now feel quick and organized which makes it much easier to stay on top of my schedule.
Cons
Honestly there isn't much to criticize. It's been incredibly helpful and I haven't run into anything worth complaining about.

“Friendly support”
Pros
It feels really clean, simple and genuinely user-friendly. The workflow is simple to follow and it even adds encouraging little moments like a "You did it!" message or "We'll take care of this next part!" tidbits. Customer service has been fast every time I've contacted them and they've always resolved whatever I needed in a friendly, upbeat way. Also, it's affordable and I have to admit the little pig mascot is adorable.
Cons
I dont have any compliant, it has been excellent and I'd happily recommend it to everyone.

“two-factor security is good”
Pros
Gusto makes it really convenient to enter my hours. The timecard feature is both simple and effective, simple without feeling limited. Plus, the two-factor authentication gives me peace of mind that my account stays secure.
Cons
Although it has a mobile app, I can do everything I need on the website so the app ends up feeling unnecessary. It also lacks options to track an employee's location which would help ensure more accurate clock-in and clock-out times.

“clean UI”
Pros
Has a clean interface that makes it simple to work through. We use it for payroll and benefits and the whole setup feels simple while still getting the job done. Customer service has also been a standout, responses come from actual people who genuinely listen and answer your questions.
Cons
Benefits enrollment can be confusing at times. It also tends to error out fairly often and the system doesn't provide a clear explanation for what went wrong which makes troubleshooting a pain. A more guided and transparent enrollment flow would make a big difference.

“reliable system”
Pros
Everything just works, without having to pour a ton of effort into figuring things out. I get a bit of organization and I'd easily pay a lot of cash for what this delivers elsewhere especially since it costs so much less with this tool. Being able to handle my finances from anywhere is a huge win for me.
Cons
No real complaints so far, I only have vague thoughts about how their services are set up but nothing specific that's bothering me yet.

“constant emails and page hopping”
Pros
This product is genuinely obnoxious. Every task involves clicking through what feels like 500 different pages and it never actually lets up. The system won't stop emailing you, worst of all, it sends personal company information to employees and there's no way to disable that feature. On top of everything else, it's also expensive which makes the whole experience even more frustrating. I'm planning to move on from it ASAP.
Cons
Pretty much everything about it. It keeps spamming you with unimportant updates, it blasts private company information to employees and I honestly can't stand using this software.

“Strong features”
Pros
Since we're a small shop, we don't have enough headcount to justify an in-house bookkeeper or an HR team. When we started looking for a payroll and compensation partner, it was repeatedly recommended and switching over was quick and painless. I also really like that we can set up quarterly profit sharing alongside a QSEHRA health benefits plan which reimburses employees for part of their health insurance premium.
Cons
The QSEHRA setup isn't as fully featured as the government level description. A complete QSEHRA typically covers not just premiums but also qualified medical expenses but Gusto's version only reimburses premiums... and only for employees who aren't already covered under a spouse's plan. Because we added the QSEHRA as a benefit before realizing those limitations, we had to build a workaround for one employee afterward.

“solid integrations”
Pros
It makes running payroll feel simple and the built-in integrations have been really helpful. The service itself has been consistently strong and overall I'm genuinely happy with the choice.
Cons
I do wish the Ximble integration was more reliable. It seems to cause some issues every month, hours don't transfer for every employee so we end up double-checking and manually adjusting the numbers to keep everything accurate.

“Not so good”
Pros
Direct deposit itself works as expected and switching tax schedules is simple without a bunch of hassle.
Cons
The GUI is really unpleasant to use. If your mouse placement is even slightly off, it wipes out the entry you were editing so if you take the time to document things, you can easily end up losing what you typed. Also, I kept getting inappropriate emails to my account (payday loan offers, "Gusto banking" promotions and similar stuff). Given that it's sent to a captive audience, those messages didn't go over well and I eventually contacted my employer to alert them about the unacceptable communications.

“awesome platform”
Pros
Gusto is a really solid option for small businesses that are just getting started with payroll management. Getting new employees set up is simple and running payroll doesn't take much effort. The reporting options are plentiful and I especially value the regular reminders it sends about what needs attention so I'm not constantly trying to remember everything on my own. It also handles filing the quarterly and annual payroll reports which saves a lot of time. Customer support has been quick to respond and the people I've interacted with are always friendly and pleasant to work with.
Cons
Time tracking sync with payroll feels a bit awkward and I wish I could approve the hours directly from within the payroll area instead of bouncing between different pages.

“works so well”
Pros
The paystubs are really simple to view and PTO tracking is exactly what I rely on most day to day. Those two features make the app worth using for me.
Cons
I haven't explored the other features much yet so I'd probably need to dig into the rest of the options on my own to get fully familiar with everything.

“Good one!”
Pros
James Pierce says the setup includes a one man show workflow that makes it clear he can pay himself, while also ensuring the right taxes go to the proper institutions. It feels like the process is built to cover all the key bases without guesswork.
Cons
Only real downside is timing, there's a short delay of a few days between running payroll and actually getting paid.

“recommended from my side”
Pros
It is incredibly simple to use and it lets us manage payroll details in one place, along with benefits and PTO. Setting up wage garnishments for employees was simple too. On top of the core payroll tools, it also includes a solid set of employee benefits that genuinely helps our team feel more supported and engaged.
Cons
Main limitation shows up with our international team, It is only set up to track employees and run payroll in the US. If it supported multiple countries, it would be even more powerful.

“good features”
Pros
It has been delivering excellent service and it's made a real difference in how I run my business especially for employee onboarding. The system is simple to use and one standout feature is how it automatically calculates payroll taxes. It also handles sending payments automatically based on the payroll schedule from the plan you choose so payroll keeps moving without the manual hassle. Definitely a recommended tool for managing this stuff.
Cons
Honestly there's nothing negative to say, using it has been genuinely helpful and it's made everything smoother for me.

“quick payments”
Pros
As a journalist, I submit several invoices each week. When my employer mentioned switching to this tool, I was understandably sceptical... I assumed I'd have to learn a whole new way of uploading documents and I was also worried about whether payments would still come through on time. That concern turned out to be unfounded. It actually made the process smoother for me. Uploading documents took just a click and the HR team at the station received everything without any hassle. I also got paid promptly which was a big relief. Overall, I'd happily recommend Gusto to others in a similar workflow.
Cons
One sore spot is how complicated it feels in the app. Even with an existing company account, I couldn't get logged in on the Android version. That left me wondering whether the app was really meant to connect to the company at all. The interface is also inconsistent... things like the color scheme look different... so I ended up having to rely on the web browser instead.

Pros
I'm really happy with how simple it is to view the data and generate reports. Everything feels simple to navigate and running reports doesn't take much effort.

“reliable onboarding automation”
Pros
Automation is the first thing I think about with it. The employee communication tools and self onboarding features stand out the most for me, mainly because they're quick and dependable.
Cons
Even though the software has matched my expectations, I'd like to see a friendlier interface and customer support that responds faster, ideally with a more responsive server.
