“Nice video conferencing feature
Pros
Honestly, I found the video conferencing to be really good and it provided high-quality questions in assessments.
Cons
I believe the assessment platform could use some improvements to work more effectively.

“great for beginners
Pros
As a less experienced user, I can rapidly put together assessments and rely on the preset configurations the platform supplies.
Cons
While it offers a quick method for me to set up tests, it also limits my ability to adjust those assessments the way I want. I struggle to locate an easy way to add new questions and I've noticed test-takers getting disoriented by the time restrictions during exams which causes many of them to run out of time and fail because they can't manage it effectively.

“Gone downhill over the years
Pros
Back when I first used it, it was one of the few platforms that offered proctoring. I also noticed it supports a broad array of question formats although even at that time some of those question types didn't reliably mark answers correctly.
Cons
I've had ongoing problems with the test scoring and it regularly makes mistakes. In the first year we kept requesting fixes and they addressed some issues but now we don't bother reporting them anymore. Because of that we end up marking exams by hand and our manual checks consistently uncover about a 5% error rate in the software's grading. At the start the pricing made sense at roughly USD $1 per exam in bulk and it matched our needs so we were paying around $2,500 a year. Then they moved to subscription models that included features we had no use for and they began promoting account management as if it were a valuable addition when it was actually pointless for us. The account manager we were assigned after the first couple of years was awful, didn't listen to the real problems and only pushed features we couldn't use. It felt like they were instructed to sell the priciest packages regardless of whether the customer needed them. The last two annual renewal cycles have been something I dread because of dealing with that person. Lately they've been hyping their "content" as world-class and worth the high subscription fees but I tried twenty of their in-house written exams and every one was awful. They're written in Indian English in a way that's very difficult for Australian, UK or US candidates to follow so the English tests were basically useless. Their programming tests were full of errors and were confusingly worded. At one stage we assessed 35 job applicants and every single candidate scored between 10 and 12 out of 40 on the exam, even though their actual skill levels varied significantly. What once offered reasonable value is now, in my view, terrible.

“Amazing features
Pros
I'm really pleased with the software's feature set. The multiple-choice options are handy and I like that we can include several different skill sets in a single test. Plus, I find the interface very user-friendly.
Cons
Sometimes the specific skills I need aren't available in the system so I end up contacting the IM team to ask them to add the skill or they have to create it from scratch which often takes about a week. By the time my assessment is ready, I've usually already submitted the candidates for the job.

“Helpful software and wonderful support
Pros
For our team, this application has been incredibly helpful throughout the hiring process. We use Mocha as the primary filter to screen candidates. The customer support and our account manager have been very responsive and easy to reach even in tight situations. I really appreciate the team's help.
Cons
I find the data analysis difficult to interpret and it doesn't clearly explain results so I often have to reach out to the Mocha team to request the specific data we require.

“Appreciate the post-assessment reporting
Pros
We've had a really positive experience with the software and the post-assessment reporting is by far the most valuable feature for our users. It provides extensive, granular feedback with plenty of specifics about what they did well and exactly where they need to improve.
Cons
We find it inconvenient that the immediate reporting doesn't appear right after someone finishes the exam in the IM app. That might be due to how we've set things up on our end, though I'm not certain about the exact product limitations or configuration details.

“Allows remote tests
Pros
I found Mocha to be a fast, automated tool that let us finish the process quickly while delivering accurate results. They provided a ready-made test with out-of-the-box skills. Beyond basic accounting, I was pleased they evaluated our team on communication, attention to detail and data interpretation. It gave me a holistic picture of each employee's abilities and importantly, allowed me to categorize staff by skill level. My team could also take the test remotely which was very convenient.
Cons
Not many downsides but I would love if they added fill-in-the-blank question types with a way to consolidate the answers automatically. It would also help to include options for a bit more descriptive responses.

“Easy to read reports
Pros
Overall, I find the platform really simple to use. Its dashboards and reports present analytics in a clear, readable way. There's an extensive library of resources I can pull from when building assessments and I appreciate that assessments can be delivered in several different formats.
Cons
Sharing the materials with decision-makers so we can refine assessments is something I find annoying. I also notice occasional content gaps and the automated question selection doesn't always pick items that are relevant to what I'm trying to assess.

“Frequent updates
Pros
I've found this to be one of the top online assessment tools, offering more than 500 IT skills tests. What really stands out to me is how they consistently update and upgrade the platform. Whenever a new IT tool or technology hits the market, there's usually an online assessment for it here within about a week. I honestly think that's impressive. Hiring managers and recruiters I work with appreciate this platform because it cuts down their screening workload so they can submit profiles to clients with a lot more confidence now.
Cons
Would appreciate the interface being a bit more user-friendly and I'm also hoping they introduce a few more detailed reports about usage and activity so we can better understand how the tool is being used.

“Lets us design custom tests
Pros
Lets me assess potential hires on the exact skills they'll need in our line of work. It offers a range of exams, from English proficiency and specific hardware and software knowledge to checks on social media presence among other options. On top of those prebuilt assessments, the platform also allows me to design my own custom test when an existing one doesn't match what I'm after. My current manager actually had me take a writing test through Interview Mocha before bringing me on board. If I recall correctly, that exam was thorough and asked me to produce answers to scenarios and questions very similar to the tasks I would face on the job. I passed confidently, was hired and later found myself reviewing that very same test for another applicant. While reviewing it I made significant edits to improve the assessment, keeping it fair rather than making it unnecessarily hard. After all, there's no point creating a test nobody can pass. Overall, Interview Mocha handles that balance pretty well.
Cons
Once my internet cut out while I was editing a test and I ended up losing most of the edits I'd made but fortunately going back in and restoring or redoing them was simple and didn't take long.
