“Easy local job search but has login issues
Pros
I really appreciate that it's designed to let me search for jobs and hiring opportunities based specifically on location whether by city, region or distance. That focus makes it much easier to find and filter local positions quickly so I can focus on opportunities that are actually feasible and relevant to where I am or want to be.
Cons
Sometimes the single sign-on feature doesn't work the way it's supposed to and I find that frustrating because it prevents me from logging in smoothly.

“Good reach but a bit hard to use
Pros
I've been really impressed by how many qualified applicants the system attracted. I also like that I can list and manage multiple roles across our entire organization from a single, unified dashboard keeping everything organized and accessible without switching between views or accounts. It manages hiring at scale.
Cons
it frustrates me that I have to use through so many steps just to reach the active applicant pool or to view the most recent candidate.

“best for mobile use
Pros
I use it on my phone all the time and I find it interactive for both employers and applicants. Being able to apply while I'm out and having job listings tailored to my profile are features I genuinely appreciate.
Cons
customer support doesn't respond quickly when I need help and I also get annoyed by how long pages can take to load which interrupts my workflow more often than I'd like.

“Helpful support but poor tool
Pros
Our customer service account representative has been with our team since the very beginning and she's been an absolute lifesaver. She consistently helps us use the many issues we throw her way and works hard to resolve the numerous problems that come up for our organization.
Cons
While I have experience with various ATS platforms this one unfortunately does not meet the benchmark for quality and efficiency. The user interface hinders basic navigation and the absence of standard features such as comprehensive tracking, fluid workflow management and actionable reporting impacts daily recruitment operations. The system's inflexibility and lack of strategic guidance are additional areas that need substantial improvement.

“hard to use
Pros
It is extremely budget-friendly and packed with many features but that's all.
Cons
it's not user-friendly or simple enough, there's no decent self-service option so I keep having to open many support tickets and the customer service is weak with slow ticket turnarounds and long delays to onboard a new franchisee.

“smooth hiring with weak reports
Pros
I like how smooth it is to attract strong candidates and get them onboarded and I appreciate the online help center that provides clear step-by-step instructions and video walkthroughs.
Cons
One improvement I'd appreciate is having more flexible reporting options because the analytics dashboard is hard for me to use.

“all info in one place
Pros
In my opinion it is pretty helpful that all applicant information is consolidated in a single spot covering everything from the initial job posting through to the entire onboarding process.
Cons
I find going around the system can be somewhat confusing and it would be essential for administrators to have the ability to edit or correct an applicant's email address directly within the platform.

“Nice flow with access problems
Pros
one thing I really appreciate is the organic, natural flow applicants experience in the system and I also like the wide range of partnerships talentreef has with other software companies.
Cons
one major problem I've experienced is the process for applicants to actually access the portal. What should be the simplest step, completing onboarding paperwork, turns into a mess because we constantly run into problems getting people into their files. Often their profiles won't load when searched by phone number or email so we end up asking them to reapply. That forces them to fill out the WOTC form again and triggers yet another background-check link, creating extra work and frustration for everyone.

“easy setup but bad support
Pros
I really like that I can quickly set up onboarding forms and assign them to the correct state, company or location plus the platform supports multiple users across different roles and the pricing is reasonable.
Cons
That said I've had a lot of trouble with support , it's awful and updates are rolled out slowly and often feel unfinished.

“Basic tool, unfair contract
Pros
It worked fine for basic use but I was told it could handle more features than it actually did.
Cons
We signed a twelve-month contract in March 2022 and actively chose not to renew it. In January 2023, we informed them by phone that we did not intend to renew our subscription and I also followed up via email to the support team to confirm we were no longer using the software. In response, they notified us that the contract had already auto-renewed and cited a policy requiring 30 days' notice to cancel. They stated that nothing could be changed, leaving us obligated to continue paying for a service we no longer want or use. This outcome is frustrating and unfair especially after our clear communication to cancel.

“very hard to use
Pros
The Indeed integration lets me customize my budget instead of choosing from a preset selection but there's nothing more to say here.
Cons
it has not saved me money or time. There is no sandbox or training environment provided. Instead we've been expected to test and learn directly in the live system. Every problem we've found shows up in production. Because of that we're about two months behind schedule since the platform doesn't behave the way it was sold. Their internal implementation crew has already gone through one turnover. They did a great kickoff presentation but from there the experience deteriorated when it came to support, listening and tackling the real problems. They'll fix the obvious issues but they don't seem to pick up on the bigger signals or address the major blockers. On top of learning a new ATS, I'm expected to adopt a project management tool, a texting platform and another calendar app. It's not designed to scale, each user will have to program settings and build templates individually. The implementation process has been really rough for us. This ATS feels outdated , a bunch of features are stitched together but they don't form a smooth, unified product. Clunky is the best word I have after using several other ATS vendors. It feels like professional recruiters were not considered when designing the layout and workflows. Recruiting can actually be enjoyable if you have the right tech but this system steals my time and energy away from actual recruiting. I've spent countless hours.

“Good applicants with poor sorting
Pros
It consistently generates a healthy stream of applicants and makes it simple for me to review each application's questions.
Cons
What frustrates me most is how buggy applicant sorting is , there are not any statuses or stages I can assign and exporting data is practically non-existent which leaves me unable to integrate with third-party tools without a lot of extra work.

Pros
Setting up it was fast and smooth for us and we faced no problems when we went live with it. It really makes bringing new hires through onboarding incredibly simple.

“works great for our team
Pros
It is an excellent platform and it performs reliably, the user interface is interactive and snappy. Within our HR team it turned out to be a very good fit. Learning the system wasn't challenging and whenever we had follow-up questions their support team was helpful and responsive.
Cons
As the person in charge of TalentReef for our team I was ready to spend some time figuring things out and helping everyone get set up. It went great and the platform ran perfectly the whole time with no glitches at all.

“very frustrating to use
Pros
We do get more applicants than Facebook ads and our careers page but I find many applicants quickly withdraw through the app so we end up with lots of low-quality people who waste our time unfortunately.
Cons
It could not feel less interactive. While I'm fairly computer literate, I find the system hard to use and it took a long time to try to figure things out. Maybe I'm overlooking something but I was told I'd never lose track of getting W-4s again. Instead, the platform doesn't require new hires to complete any forms at all so I'm still collecting W-4s in person and literally printing and using paper W-4s because my hires can't access the tools to complete onboarding paperwork. On top of that, there's no practical way for me to record notes about applicants after conversations although a "notes" area appears to exist, I can't get into it or save anything. I was also assured I'd be able to text candidates directly through the app but that's not available. Now I must call and text from my personal cell and I can't even attach or save notes about those communications. Overall this product has left me very frustrated and deeply disappointed and it's wasting my time.

“very poor support
Pros
I was told it aggregates applicants from multiple recruiting sites yet I would expect that in a three month span it would locate more than four candidates for a basic retail sales job.
Cons
There was no customer support and when I tried to cancel my subscription the process dragged on and ended up charging me unnecessary monthly fees.

“Clear tracking with limited admin access
Pros
Getting set up was pretty smooth. I feel like the system presents candidates' scores clearly and I like that I can sift through applicants based on the assessment they complete when applying. It's also simple for me to track where each person is in the interview pipeline, labels like "Didn't return contact", "Hired", "In progress" and so on make it easy to see status.
Cons
Occasionally my boss who is the administrator needed to modify or add forms and the experience didn't very interactive. He wasn't able to hand all of those administrative tasks over to me because there's no permission or delegation feature which I found disappointing.

“Helpful notes and missing bulk tools
Pros
One pro is that I invested the time to learn the system and made my own notes inside it. I put together a training guide and, after speaking with customer service enough, I learned a lot of the answers to the issues our candidates were calling about and the questions my supervisor had so I could be helpful. Because problems occurred daily, the upside for me was that I actually knew what I was doing since I had to learn through experience. I appreciate that the notes feature lets you add entries, automatically records dates and allows unlimited notes. What bothers me is that any note can be edited which means someone else could change or interfere with what I wrote. Occasionally the system freezes and when that happens I've seen it apply changes to the wrong person's profile as well.
Cons
I least like that there's no way to export information to a spreadsheet. I also didn't like that there wasn't an option to select a majority of candidates and send a bulk message or mass email ,whether to notify them they were declined or simply to acknowledge receipt of their application. Being able to send a single message to many applicants at once would save a lot of time instead of having to address each one individually.

“easy to spot applicants!
Pros
As a manager, I can quickly identify applicants who have applied to multiple positions or locations.
Cons
It offers almost no customization. The workflow is delivered exactly as-is and we are not able to make any changes. Their customer service is severely lacking as well. We currently have open tickets that have been pending for more than seven months and still haven't been resolved. Beyond that, the biggest problem for us has been the weak EEO tracking. Since we're required to comply with OFCCP regulations, the fact that the system can't support those requirements is a major issue. It even lets applicants submit applications without filling out EEO information and talentReef has made no meaningful effort to adjust the platform to fix that. On top of that, glitches are constant. For several months it would tell managers 'sorry this page is unavailable' whenever we tried to post a new job or open resume attachments. Right now the recurring error reads 'sorry we cannot complete your request at this time please try again later' when any of us attempt to update a candidate's status. There honestly isn't a day when everything is running smoothly and I don't have to reach out to our account manager for help.
