It is Excellent

Pros

Salary.com has been a huge help in setting fair and competitive pay by giving us reliable market data for benchmarking. We use it to build salary ranges for different roles across the company, which supports internal equity, improves retention and helps us attract top talent. I really appreciate the data-driven insights and it helps us make informed and transparent decisions. I also love how I can create hybrid roles and customize things like required degrees or years of experience to match exactly what we are hiring for.

Cons

Sometimes I find the navigation a bit tricky. It doesn't always feel as intuitive as I expect and I have to click around a bit more than I'd like to find what I need.

All rounder tool with great service

Pros

We have been using the CompAnalyst tool for more than two years and it's been great. The platform is user friendly and our Account Manager has been incredibly responsive and helpful. Even when we have had niche roles to price, the Salary.com team has supported us really well. I also like that we get regular updates about new features and tools.

Cons

We have found the it to be a valuable asset for our organization but the pricing is on the higher side. It's definitely a good resource but not the most budget friendly.

Great compensation guides

Pros

What I like most about Salary.com is how comprehensive and data-driven it is. It gives us accurate salary info across industries and locations so we can benchmark effectively. The CompAnalyst platform is simple and centralized, which makes managing job descriptions and salary ranges a breeze. Their consulting support has also been super helpful specially with pay equity and organizational design. The built-in compliance tools are great for fair pay practices and workforce planning.

Cons

Salary.com offers powerful compensation tools but I have come across a few downsides. The cost is pretty steep, which makes it tough for smaller companies or nonprofits to justify. Some customization options feel limited specially when trying to tailor reports or dashboards to match our internal structure. It also takes some time to learn the full range of features. And when we look up data for niche roles or specific industries, the information sometimes isn't as detailed or current as we would like.

Easy to navigate with accurate compensation

Pros

The salary data from Salary.com has always felt accurate and trustworthy, which gives us confidence in our decisions.

Cons

I really wish the platform included more job titles. Sometimes it's hard to find a match that fits exactly what we are looking for.

Solid UI and user-friendly

Pros

It is incredibly easy to use. The interface is clean and smooth and it makes managing national salary data very simple.

Cons

It would be great to have a Boolean search feature. Sometimes I get too many irrelevant matches and would rather narrow things down by specific experience or criteria.

Very helpful in higher education

Pros

I like how I can match our specific roles, even if they are unique or specialized, to jobs in the database and it makes comparisons more meaningful.

Cons

I have noticed the system doesn't have as much historical data in our field as it does for other industries, which makes it a bit less useful.

Content is good, but UX needs improvement

Pros

Loved the detailed data and how we can filter by industry, location and more. Plus the customer support is excellent and our account manager has been fantastic to work with.

Cons

The tool hasn't really changed much in terms of look or features. It still feels the same as when I first started using it. The user experience could definitely be improved, and the reports could use a refresh too. They are not the most visually appealing or easy to share with leadership.

It keeps us ahead in our industry

Pros

We used Salary.com and CompAnalyst for a while and the data we get has helped us stay competitive in this constantly changing market. I love being able to drill down into the pricing for each job specially when we are dealing with niche or new roles.

Cons

Since we only price jobs twice a year, it's hard to justify the cost. For a nonprofit, the price feels a bit high given how little we actually use it.

So useful tool

Pros

Being able to compare industry salaries to our own pay structure has helped us avoid overpaying and made a real difference in hiring and retaining great employees.

Cons

Every time I log in, I get another pop up trying to sell me something new. I've tried to disable them, but even after checking the box to stop seeing them, they still keep coming back. It gets really annoying.

Adaptable software

Pros

Salary.com has been a really helpful and easy-to-use platform for researching compensation data. The interface is clean and user-friendly, which makes it simple to navigate and quickly find the info I need. Whether I am looking up salaries by job title, location or industry, the tools are simple and the data is reliable. It's an excellent resource for employers who want to benchmark pay accurately. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for clear and transparent salary insights.

Cons

The person I usually contact is super friendly but they don't seem all that familiar with the deeper features of the tool. They know the general offerings well and not the more detailed stuff I need help with.

Provides excellent info and data resources

Pros

I like that everything is laid out on one page like salary data, job classification recommendations, and more. Plus, there are multiple adjustment options, which make it really flexible when setting salary ranges.

Cons

A lot of the salary numbers seem lower than I would expect. It makes it tough to benchmark effectively when the figures don't align with what we are seeing in the real world.

Great! Been using it for a long time

Pros

CompAnalyst gives us updated compensation data filtered by industry, company size and geography, which makes it easier to make well-informed decisions.

Cons

The pop up messages are probably the most frustrating part. They show up constantly and I can't turn them off completely. I can only snooze them for 30 days and then they are back again.
