“Useful for comparing different roles
Pros
It has been really useful for comparing different roles. The data it provides made benchmarking much more reliable which helped us make sure employees are paid fairly and stay aligned with competitive market rates.
Cons
Some job titles that used to be available can disappear without any warning and positions we previously referenced may no longer show up. That makes things difficult when we're working from an Excel sheet of existing titles and trying to match them to the updated job titles in the system.

“Ability to benchmark my positions
Pros
Being able to benchmark my positions and combine roles that aren't very common has been incredibly helpful. The data feels accurate and truly driven by solid information. Before this, we had to rely on several free sites and the results always felt inconsistent and hit-or-miss.
Cons
The account managers have clearly seen the system is not fully integrated by the HR department yet they have not really stepped in to help or offer that extra level of support. That was my takeaway after meeting with the account reps during training on the system that was purchased in 2025.

“customer support stands out
Pros
From the start, the customer service has impressed me way beyond expectations. Whenever I need help, the support comes quickly and that kind of responsiveness is really reassuring. The comp aggregator has also been incredibly valuable because it makes our compensation process much more efficient. On top of that, the hands-on help we received during setup was a pleasure. I use the platform to assess and simplify expensive compensation surveys while benchmarking our roles more efficiently. Between the comp aggregator and their timely, highly supportive customer service, it has been a huge help.
Cons
Nothing at all bothers me. I am satisfied with it.

“Easy to price jobs
Pros
Pricing jobs with this tool has been really simple. In CompAnalyst, I can fine-tune a fit by building a hybrid role or by adjusting details like years of experience and degree requirements. The support team behind the platform has also been excellent. Earlier this week, two team members met with me and walked me through how to manually upload our data for an upcoming project. Getting started was very simple and the onboarding training they provided to me and others at my organization was thorough and helpful. I mainly use it to price jobs and align our job codes with CompAnalyst's so we can keep our pay competitive in our market.
Cons
Finding the right CompAnalyst match based on our organization's internal job descriptions can be frustrating. The AI matching tool doesn't always feel very precise. It usually lands somewhere close to the type of role we're looking for but the recommendations tend to be too broad or high-level. I think the results would be more accurate if the system placed more emphasis on the actual responsibilities of the role.

“Detailed salary benchmarking tools
Pros
Being able to narrow roles down by specific job duties, qualifications and even industry makes the data feel much more accurate. It's especially useful that positions can be split into separate functions to estimate what a blended role should be paid based on each part. I rely on it for salary benchmarking and the detailed role criteria really help when evaluating compensation for multi-duty jobs. Having access to industry salary data and archived job postings is valuable too.
Cons
research behind job discounts could be stronger. I'd like clearer guidance on what those discounts should look like and when they should actually be applied based on market data, rather than leaving too much up to the subjective judgment of whoever is entering the information.

“Valuable market insights and knowledgeable support
Pros
Starting out in a new role and at a new company, having Alberto Rivera as my account rep has made a huge difference. He's incredibly knowledgeable, very supportive and has given me really helpful guidance on both the tool itself and how our company is currently set up in it. The platform is especially useful for benchmarking roles against market data and getting a clearer understanding of job levels.
Cons
Compared with tools like MarketPay/PayScale, the platform feels a bit clunky at times. Building composites can be confusing and the UX/UI definitely has a learning curve before it starts to feel natural.

“Brilliant implementation team
Pros
One of the best parts has been working with an implementation team that is both capable and resourceful. They seem genuinely invested in helping clients get off to a strong start and the implementation process reflects that. Whenever challenges come up, they actively find workarounds instead of letting things stall. On top of that, when I reach out with questions, their responses are quick and helpful. The platform is also helping us simplify our tech stack by keeping compensation planning and compensation market data together in one system. It gives us more targeted pay data across different markets and CompXL has also made our bonus and compensation cycle run more efficiently.
Cons
the platform looks a little outdated. The interface and overall layout are not especially pleasant visually and that makes navigation harder than it should be. I expect it will start to feel more user-friendly as I spend more time using it but at the moment I still have to put in extra time to find where I need to go.

“Multiple ways to view data
Pros
Having so many ways to view, organize and group the data has been a big plus. The integration process was very simple and everyone involved has been incredibly helpful from the start. Being able to import data as often as needed also saves us from manually pulling everything together from outside sources and sending it to our previous analyst. It keeps the information more current and improves accuracy too.
Cons
There's a lot to sort through at the beginning so the first login can feel a bit overwhelming and intimidating with everything that's available.

“good tool
Pros
I really appreciate how transparent the platform feels, especially since it doesn't push promotional content. The IT team is also quick and reliable whenever a response is needed which adds to the overall positive experience. The whole process works pretty well. The only part that takes some effort is understanding the salary range for a specific job title since the range gauge can be a bit confusing at first. Still, it helps me find and make sense of salary ranges without much trouble.
Cons
It doesn't include every location option. For instance, when I want to look up salary analytics for India, India isn't available in the country list. That's definitely an area they should improve.

“Thorough data I can trust
Pros
The depth of information stands out and it's presented in a format that's very simple to understand. The data coverage is extensive across a wide range of industries and I've never run into issues finding information for a specific role or scope. Because the data is so thorough, this is really the only resource I need to use.
Cons
The newer AI tools aren't really my favorite although that's not something I'd single out to this platform alone. I'm still not convinced the AI-generated results are better than or even on par with, what I can come up with myself when answering my own questions. Still, I can admit that part of that might just be me getting older.

“Helps understand what a role should pay
Pros
Having a tool like this makes it much clearer to understand what a role should pay based on job title, experience, location and skills. The data comes across as reliable and well organized which really helps when setting fair salaries, negotiating compensation or planning career growth. Right now, it does a solid job of solving the problem of understanding what pay should look like for a specific job or role.
Cons
At times, though, it feels like some of the data is locked which makes it harder to figure out the exact pay in certain cases.

“Comprehensive compensation data
Pros
Amazing how detailed and dependable the compensation data is. The market benchmarking tools give us a lot of confidence when evaluating roles and making sure our pay practices reflect current market conditions. Being able to narrow the data by geography, company size and industry is particularly useful when making fair and competitive salary decisions. It also helps us deal with the challenge of connecting internal job titles and career structures to external market data. The platform offers a solid framework for leveling roles, building salary bands and assessing pay competitiveness across teams in multiple states. That creates more consistency, lowers compensation risk and supports our long-term talent strategy.
Cons
Where it gets difficult is in the job matching process and overall navigation. Even though the data itself is very strong, finding the right benchmark role often takes a lot of interpretation and manual tweaking. A more organized workflow and clearer tools for aligning job architecture would make the platform much easier to use.

“Cooperative staff
Pros
Getting started with the system was fairly simple and connecting it with our payroll worked out really well. The support team has been consistently helpful, especially during an urgent project while we were ramping up hiring and they made sure our data and systems stayed aligned without issues. There were plenty of training resources and ongoing assistance throughout the setup process. We use it for compensation benchmarking and it's been valuable for correcting employee pay costs, targeting the right industry percentiles and staying competitive with our offers. Overall, it's user-friendly, works well with payroll and the support has been a big plus when timing is critical.

“Melissa's support has made the difference
Pros
More than anything, Melissa's support has made a huge difference for our team. The product itself is strong but having someone so responsive and collaborative has made the overall experience even better. She's been a real partner with all of our company's requests, quick to resolve issues, quick to respond and always willing to help us understand new updates or features we may have missed along the way.

“Powerful reporting
Pros
I appreciate the reporting tools. After benchmarking a job, I can pull a detailed report to share with leaders during compensation conversations and that's probably the feature I rely on most. Those reports are incredibly useful because they outline industry scope, include thorough job descriptions and cover all the compensable factors. I also use them with my talent acquisition team when we're putting together offers and with hiring managers when we're planning new positions or redefining roles. The salary insights are very valuable. I depend on the platform for market data to address pay compression and equity concerns, benchmark roles and review compensation ratios. The detailed reports really help support compensation discussions and keep offers aligned across teams.
Cons
The part that feels a little underdeveloped is the AI feature. I really appreciate that AI is available, especially when I need to evaluate more unique or uncommon roles but the downside is that using the AI tool doesn't give me the same customized, detailed reports. It would be much better if benchmarking those unique roles through AI also produced a full report with the findings.

“Provides global coverage!!
Pros
One thing that really works well is the platform's global coverage, including markets like South Africa. The interface is very user-friendly and I appreciate the flexibility to work across different scopes and job levels. It holds up well against larger providers and makes it possible to benchmark in local currency across categories such as non-exempt, professional and managerial roles. I also value the total compensation data and how simple it is to adjust premiums when needed. Getting everything set up initially was pretty simple. I mainly use it as a source of record for global benchmarking and the combination of broad reach, flexibility, local-currency benchmarking, ad hoc cuts and detailed compensation data makes it very useful.
Cons
I'd really like to see the option to add multiple jobs at once when working on composites, especially if they fall under the same job family. That would make the process much faster although it's possible some of this comes down to training on my side. Aside from that, being able to pull market data for several job codes at the same time would be very helpful.

“Simple to understand
Pros
It doesn't take much effort to get the hang of and the platform is simple to use. It's built on a solid taxonomy that has stayed dependable over time which gives us confidence in the information. I also value the different download options available since they make the data more flexible for other uses. It gives us a trustworthy base for building compensation frameworks. The market data is gathered regularly from reliable sources, then filtered, reviewed and documented in a clear and logical way. Without up-to-date, dependable data like this, it would be very difficult to maintain sound compensation structures and back up our pay decisions properly.
Cons
There are times when the data has gaps and I tend to see this more with European markets or more remote countries. By comparison, the US data is much more detailed and usually more reliable.

“Quick access to compensation data
Pros
Having quick access to dependable compensation data has been incredibly helpful. The platform is simple to use, makes salary research very convenient and puts current market information right at my fingertips. That makes it much easier to make informed decisions and keep workflows moving efficiently. It also takes away a lot of the guesswork around local market data since before this we were mostly relying on salary ranges posted on Indeed, ZipRecruiter and similar sites.
Cons
One thing I'd still like to see improved is the ability to save the roles I search for. I run quarterly searches on more than 20 positions and right now it doesn't feel like there's a quick or simple way to pull those back up efficiently.

I also love how I can create hybrid roles and customize things like required degrees or years of experience to match exactly what we are hiring for.

“Great compensation guides
Pros
What I like most about Salary.com is how comprehensive and data-driven it is. It gives us accurate salary info across industries and locations so we can benchmark effectively. The CompAnalyst platform is simple and centralized, which makes managing job descriptions and salary ranges a breeze. Their consulting support has also been super helpful specially with pay equity and organizational design. The built-in compliance tools are great for fair pay practices and workforce planning.
Cons
Salary.com offers powerful compensation tools but I have come across a few downsides. The cost is pretty steep, which makes it tough for smaller companies or nonprofits to justify. Some customization options feel limited specially when trying to tailor reports or dashboards to match our internal structure. It also takes some time to learn the full range of features. And when we look up data for niche roles or specific industries, the information sometimes isn't as detailed or current as we would like.
