My review -

Pros

Our customer service account representative has been with us since the beginning, and she has been an incredible help. We have encountered several issues that she has diligently worked on resolving for us.

Cons

Compared to other ATSs I have used, TalentReef doesn't measure up in terms of quality. The system's ease of use for recruiters to navigate candidates, requisitions, and postings is subpar. It lacks basic functionalities that other ATSs possess, such as agency tracking, smooth transition between screens, the ability to move steps or stages for metric tracking, clear reporting metrics and data, improved source tracking, ease of integrating additional tools, and guidance on best practices.

talentreef

Pros

Since I have only hired four people so far, I cannot provide much feedback about the software. However, I have received numerous applicants, which shows its popularity.

Cons

The first employee's details were not processed until after the employee had left. Furthermore, the employee did not possess the necessary paperwork for employment, but the system failed to flag or deny the submission.

Talent Reef Review

Pros

TalentReef is very affordable with lots of features and my corporate representative has been very helpful too.

Cons

The software is not user-friendly or simple enough. It is not self-service friendly either so I have to submit a lot of tickets. Customer service is poor, ticket turnaround times are slow and setting up a new franchisee takes way too long.

Carnes Management Review

Pros

I like how easy it is to attract quality applicants and onboard them. The online help site with its step-by-step instructions and videos is also a big plus.

Cons

I wish the reporting functions were more customizable and the analytics page is tough to navigate.

Pros

I love having everything about an applicant in one place from the job posting stage all the way to onboarding.

Cons

Moving around the system can be a bit confusing for users and the admin should be able to correct an applicant's email in the system.

TR Feedback

Pros

I enjoy the organic applicant flow and value all the partnerships TalentReef has with other software companies.

Cons

The workflow for getting applicants into the portal has been problematic. We have had numerous issues with onboarding paperwork which should be the easiest part of TalentReef. Sometimes, profiles won't pull up with the applicants phone or email, forcing them to reapply which means they have to redo the WOTC and get another background check link.

TalentReef Review

Pros

With TalentReef it is easy to add onboarding forms tailored to the right state, company or location. The system allows multiple users to perform different functions and the pricing is reasonable.

Bullied into keep a contact I don't want

Pros

It functioned okay but it did not deliver on all the promises they made.

Cons

We signed a 12 month contract in March 2022. In January 2023, we called to say we did not want to renew. We also emailed to confirm we were no longer using the software. They told us it auto-renewed and since we did not give 30 days notice, we have to keep paying for a product we no longer want.

Regrettable Decision to go with TalentReef

Pros

I like how the Indeed integration lets me customize my budget instead of sticking to a predetermined one.

Cons

It has not saved me any money or time. They do not provide a sandbox or learning environment, so we are forced to test and train in a live environment. Every issue we have encountered has been discovered live. We are now two months behind schedule because the system is not working as promised. Their internal implementation team has already turned over once. The kickoff call was impressive but after that, the support, active listening and addressing real concerns went downhill. They focus on the small, easy fixes but cannot seem to address the bigger issues. We are not only expected to learn a new ATS but also a project management system, a text and a calendar application. The system is not scalable; each user has to program and set up templates individually. The installation process has been very difficult. This ATS feels outdated, piecing together many features that don't form a seamless product. After using several other ATS providers, I would describe it as clunky. Professional recruiters were not considered in the design or layout of the system. Recruiting should be a fun and rewarding career when you have the right technology, but this system consumes all my time and effort which takes away from actual recruiting. I have spent countless hours testing and troubleshooting their system for them.

Feels old but works

Pros

The software consistently delivers a good applicant flow and makes it easy to view application questions.

Cons

Sorting applicants is surprisingly challenging as there are no statuses or stages to apply to candidates. Data exporting is nearly non-existent which makes using third-party tools very difficult.

I am very happy with this product and I am confident others will be too.

Employee management software that works

Pros

TalentReef is a great piece of software with a good fast UI that works well for our HR team. It was not hard to learn and their support team has been very helpful with any further questions we had.

Cons

As an administrator of TalentReef, you should expect to spend some hours working with it and assisting your team. I have no complaints and have not come across any bugs at all.

Small business Buyer Beware

Pros

The software does attract more applicants than Facebook ads and our websites career page, but applicants often withdraw their applications quickly through the app. This leads to a lot of low-quality candidates and waste our time.

Cons

The software is the opposite of user-friendly. I consider myself fairly computer savvy but learning this software has been very difficult. Also, I might be missing something, but the promise that I'd never miss a W-4 again has not been fulfilled. This software does not make new hires fill out anything, so I still have to chase people for their W-4s and I am still using paper forms because my new hires cannot even access the software to complete their paperwork. There is also no way to enter notes on new applicants, like if you have spoken with them. Even though there's a section labeled "notes" I have not been able to access it. I was also promised the ability to text applicants directly from the software, but thats not happening. I have to make calls and texts from my phone and I cannot attach notes about my communications. This software has been a huge disappointment.

Complete Waste of Money

Pros

The software supposedly pulls candidates from various hiring platforms but after three months, I would have expected more than just four candidates for a simple retail sales position.

Cons

There is no customer service. Even trying to cancel the service was a problem and the drawing out process ended up costing me unnecessary monthly fees.

Good for onboarding but leaves more to be desired.

Pros

Onboarding is pretty simple. I like that it shows the applicants scores clearly and allows me to filter through them based on their assessments. Its also easy to track where each applicant is in the interview process, like "Didn't return contact," "Hired," or "In progress."

Cons

There were times when my boss, the administrator had to change or add forms and the system did not feel user-friendly. Unfortunately, he could not delegate the task to me either as there's no option for that.

I like it because I learned it

Pros

The pro for me is that I took the time to learn the system and made my own notes. I created my own training guide and after communicating with customer service enough, I knew most of the answers to the problems our candidates and supervisors were facing. Since problems came up daily, I had to learn out of necessity. I think the notes feature is great because you can add as many as you want, and it automatically records the dates. but I do not like that anyone can edit a note, which means others could alter what I have written. The system also freezes sometimes and I have noticed it occasionally ends up on the wrong person's profile.

Cons

I least liked the fact that you cannot export to a spreadsheet. I also did not like how there is no option to select a majority of candidates to either send a mass message, decline them all or send an email acknowledging receipt of their application.

Promises not fulfilled

Pros

Managers can easily track applicants who apply to multiple positions or locations.

Cons

The system offers very little customization. The workflow is fixed and you cannot make any changes. Customer service is severely lacking. We have unresolved tickets that have been open for over seven months. But the biggest issue is the poor EEO tracking. We are required to comply with OFCCP regulations and this system cannot support that. It allows applicants to apply without completing EEO data and TalentReef has not made any effort to improve this. Plus, theres always a glitch in the system. For a few months, it would tell managers, "Sorry, this page is unavailable" when they tried to post a new job or review resume attachments. Now, the glitch says, "Sorry, we cannot complete your request at this time. Please try again later" when updating a candidate's status. Not a day goes by without something malfunctioning, and I constantly have to contact our account manager for support.

I wanted it to be a success, its been anything but

Pros

In the beginning there were plenty of promises, a talent network, ease of use with posting to multiple job boards, a high-volume traffic aggregator and full system integration. But everything was a big fat lie.

Cons

We were sold something that does not exist, and nine months in, it still does not seem like it ever will. We were promised a talent network but all we got was an Excel spreadsheet with names. We were also promised high traffic flow but after posting jobs for 30 days, we might get 10 applicants for the most basic entry-level position, which is supposed to be their specialty. Every time we want to add a new job to the library, we have to submit a request to customer service. Applicants constantly face issues while applying and when they do we end up with multiple applications from the same person something TalentReef claimed wouldn't happen. They cannot figure out why jobs are not getting pushed to job boards repeatedly. As the customer, I have to act as the go-between for TalentReef and Indeed to troubleshoot the problem. Customer support has even told our users on multiple occasions to use the application of another client... What!? I always have to chase down answers after submitting a help ticket. Jobs posted through TalentReef take days to appear on job boards. There are major disconnects with integrating this system with others. The software we were sold almost two years ago still hasn't been built. Sales will tell you anything to make the sale, but there is no substance behind it. We were already in the implementation phase before finding out that some "just released" features were not even available. Avoid this system at all costs!
