Great Customer Service

Pros

Although I haven't started using the system extensively yet, I've already experienced the outstanding customer service provided by TimeIPS. The employees' dedication and willingness to help find the right product, rather than simply making a sale, is truly appreciated. Every person I've interacted with has been wonderful to work with helpful, patient, and extremely knowledgeable about the product. This level of customer service is just as important to me as the product itself.

Cons

I am currently in the process of familiarizing myself with the system, so I haven't used it enough to provide a rating. I do appreciate that the staff at TimeIPS is highly attentive to our satisfaction and is actively working on customizing certain areas to meet our specific requirements.

Old school user interface

Pros

The time-off request feature has been very useful for our accounting department in managing timesheets.

Cons

The interface is not well-organized and sometimes I struggle to find the functions I need. The link labels do not match what is shown on the navbar, and there is no option to specify a time range when requesting time off.

Cheap, and a lot of features in a small package

Pros

The features provided have far surpassed what we were accustomed to. For managing a large group of hourly employees who punch a time clock and are comfortable with self-administration, this is an excellent solution. We have had minimal downtime in over two years, with only one instance of the site being down.

Cons

Well the interface feels outdated, almost 20 years behind the times. Given that it is web-based, it is surprising that there have not been any major updates. While the features are robust, they can be quite complicated. Support is usually available and knowledgeable, but I had to manage a long checklist for user setup since each user needs to be configured in every area. The system handles PTO benefits adequately but many users found it confusing and frustrating initially. The web interface is overly complex and feels very outdated. There are also significant issues with web clocking. Although the sites uptime is excellent, there are occasional delays. Employees who do not wait for the screen to refresh often end up double-punching. Switching to dedicated time clocks might help avoid this problem.

TimeIPS Review

Pros

This product is fantastic and better than Kronos. We switched from Kronos to TimeIPS primarily because of its better reporting functionality.

Cons

The system seems outdated but it really just needs a design overhaul. Despite its appearance, it functions well.

long time customer let down

Pros

We used Time IPS in my doctors practice from 2006 to 2017. Initially, the software and service were excellent but they worsened over time.

Cons

We had a small office and used the system without issues from 2006 to 2012. However, we had to upgrade due to compatibility problems and later found out they had switched to a monthly payment system. Since then, they have not been helpful at all. I value businesses that treat their customers well, and I cannot recommend this company if you do not want to feel extorted. I ended up discarding their system and choosing a more affordable option with better customer service.

Easy to Use

Pros

The systems accessibility, reliability and ease of use are top-notch. Adding users, updating information and managing reports is incredibly straightforward.

Cons

Running reports can be slow, especially when dealing with a lot of data. While its not unusual for this to be a bit annoying, its not a major issue.

Employee TimeIPS review

Pros

I like how easy it is to clock in and out. I can request time off through the web and view my accumulated hours simultaneously.

Cons

There are many features available that we do not use. Also it is confusing to see options, like reporting, that employees rarely or do not use.

I love how easy it is to use. Excellent support staff.

Pros

I am happy with the all the available tools and the simple layout of the product. Editing and adjusting is also easy. Managing the time clock and employees has never been simpler. Thank you for creating such an amazing product!

Cons

I dislike how some time formats are displayed in hours: minutes while others are shown as decimals. I would prefer a consistent format throughout.

Review of TimeIPS Software

Pros

I like how easy the system is to use and the promptness of the support center. The support staff often manages to accommodate all the features I need.

Cons

Some features, like notifying employees of an approved time-off request, were not accessible. There were also issues with tracking salaried employees hours.

Great documentation and support, excellent UI and payroll export.

Pros

The documentation for TimeIPS is exceptional. Each page has help features that can be hidden once you are familiar with the system, explaining what is happening and providing useful tips. The online documentation is also very comprehensive. With my previous experience with timekeeping systems and the thorough documentation, I rarely needed additional help during implementation. Their support has been outstanding, resolving any issues promptly and even delivering a bug fix right before our go-live date. The user interface is excellent, clearly showing that considerable effort went into making it user-friendly. The help available on each page is handy, and the ability to hide it is a great feature. When viewing reports, the top bar can be hidden to provide more screen space. There is an option to export almost any list of data, report, or configuration to a CSV file for easy charting and data manipulation. I also appreciate their onsite option, as I am still not fully convinced that the cloud is the way to go. They offer a compact, locked-down Linux box similar to a network appliance that is easy to set up. The time clocks may not be flashy, but they work better than the more ornate ones we have used. They handle dirty, greasy hands well and have a replaceable keypad, so after extensive use, we can simply swap it with a $10 USB keypad. One of the most surprising and impressive features is the powerful payroll export engine. It supports various options, including delimited, fixed width, justification, optional data, and even expressions for on-the-fly data manipulation. I expected to do additional data manipulation post-export, but TimeIPS met all our needs right out of the box. Additionally, the cost is worth mentioning. The basic modules were the least expensive among the products we compared. You get a set number of hours for implementation (which I have not needed) and a year of support. You can buy an annual support agreement if needed, which is reasonably priced. Overall, this product offers excellent value.

Cons

One issue I have noticed is that the department transfer feature is quite weak. It seems odd since this is a fairly common requirement. Although they did release a bug fix, I still think there is room for improvement. Another minor issue is that "time snaps," as they call them, can only be configured by payroll group rather than by shift or schedule. This terminology might be confusing if you are not familiar with the product, but it is an unusual method for setting group time adjustments. We also experienced some confusion with the licensing module. We are using a basic version of the software primarily for timekeeping, but there are many additional modules available for purchase if you need more functionality. This could be a drawback if you have complex needs. For example, you need an extra license/module for employees to clock in from a web browser, which seemed a bit excessive.

Easy to use system, user-friendly, lots of features

Pros

I like the messaging system that lets me display a message to all my employees when they clock in. Since we do not have an internal email system, it is challenging to communicate with everyone, so this feature really helps in spreading important information.

Cons

I am not happy that we have to pay for extra service hours and cannot call in whenever we need to without worrying about being charged or encountering service issues.
