“The Cloud Version is ridiculously bad

Price. Its cheap.

Cons

It is virtually unfunctional. I've used bankruptcy software for 25 years. This Cloud-version is by far, the worst. I would not recommend it if they paid me to use it.

“Great desktop application

Pros

The Client Portal, when paired with the desktop software, made it super easy to manage bankruptcy petitions and assess how our client's financials were looking.

Cons

Since it's a desktop version that needs to be installed on a server, it wasn't ideal for our small firm. I know they now offer a cloud based version but it's pretty pricey, so we didn't go that route.

“Poor support and a frustrating e-filing interface

I love that it helps calculate totals and cross-references entries where needed.. it makes everything so much smoother!

Cons

The e-filing feature just doesn't work. Tech support tells you to file manually. The program also freezes a lot and doesn't load forms properly.

Honestly, there's nothing I would highlight about it. It's just... okay.

We used to have the app version of CIN Compass. When we had to switch to BestCase, we gave it a chance, but the more we use it, the less we like it. It has a ton of extra features that we don't need and the visibility from the old CIN software was way better especially when it came to seeing a list of properties and exemptions. BestCase constantly logs us out, even though we set the timeout to the longest duration of two hours. The worst part? When it logs you out, it doesn't actually close so you might waste time entering data only to find out it didn't save when you click "save."

“Excellent tool, especially with the new add-ons

I really love that all of our client data can be in one place for our bankruptcy clients. The reports I can pull for various projects are a lifesaver. The Invoices and Payments feature is also amazing.

Cons

The reports don't include the full SS# and there's no place to add a DOB. You can't even copy the SS# to paste elsewhere. The interface really needs an update. It's super dull, maybe add some color or a little more personality?

“Horrible support, the other reviews say it all

Absolutely NOTHING! The tutorials are awful. They claim everything is �intuitive,� but it's really the complete opposite. Super frustrating!

BEST CASE TECH SUPPORT IS THE WORST!!! Here's an example: I called at 5:30 pm ET and by 6:05 pm, I was the first in the queue. I kept hearing, �You are now first in the queue, please wait for the next available person.� At 7:00 pm, I heard, �The office is now closed.� This happens ALL the time. I rarely even get to tech support and they never call me back after I leave a message. Trust me, the other bad reviews are true!

“Best Case isn't as good anymore, wouldn't suggest it

At first, the ease of use was a huge plus.

Cons

Ever since the software updated, we've had nothing but problems. It's glitchy, calculations are off, entries are deleted without prompting, it won't allow us to file using the software and it freezes often. Sometimes, it won't even save entries. We can't file bankruptcy cases through it right now, so we have had to manually file them. Tech support is a nightmare: long hold times (like hours), they submit a 'ticket' to the developers but we never hear back or get a timeline for resolution. We have emailed multiple times with no response.

Pros

I've been using this software since 2004. We switched to the online version a year ago. Initially, it was glitchy but now it's just downright unusable. It won't electronically file our cases anymore and my staff had to manually file two cases just this week. The wait time for tech support is hours long and they haven't responded to my emails asking for help. We missed a deadline because of it. plus the system lost an hour's worth of work while my staff was sharing her screen with tech support. I even emailed demanding a refund, but they still haven't replied. This software is basically unusable right now.

The software is constantly malfunctioning. Before they switched to the online platform, tech support calls were answered instantly. Now, my staff has waited on hold for hours with no answer.

“excellent tool for bankruptcy filings

It made preparing the BK petition super easy and I could electronically file everything with the court. The ECF feed integration was really helpful.

Cons

The interface feels outdated. It kind of reminds me of Windows 95 days.

“Top bankruptcy filing software out there

Pros

I've used a lot of different programs, both cloud-based and server based. BestCase is the best. It just feels comfortable, is easy to use and making forms is a breeze. Their technical support is out of this world. Instant help whenever you need it!

Cons

I REALLY wish they could launch a reliable cloud version. Right now, I'm stuck using other programs because it doesn't work well outside of an office setting.

I like the format. I never have to go searching for anything. It's all laid out and navigating through it is a breeze.

Most of the cons were addressed in the software update, so that's a relief.

The interface is crisp and clean, the support is great and I love how easily modifiable the forms are. The standard input templates make everything easier.

There's no internal backup system, so we had to create our own specialized backup method. There's also a file that won't copy using Robocopy, meaning we have to save it folder by folder. plus the creditor number boxes are too small, so the numbers spill over onto two lines and it just looks weird.

It could take a lifetime to learn all the tricks and nuances of this software.

“20 years as a satisfied customer

I have filed around 800 Chapter 7s using Best Case. Their one-touch filing for the first petition has always worked perfectly, even as the court switched from older software to ECF and when the Means Test was introduced. I can't remember ever having to fill in the initial forms manually. During the crazy rush in 2005 right before the Means Test started, Best Case held up better than I expected, even with the huge number of filings. Adding credit reports was also a huge plus. Quick access to the docket is a real time-saver. This software has been a game-changer for my small bankruptcy practice.

Cons

The new forms from two years ago were a little confusing, especially the questions about sole proprietor businesses. BestCase responded by tweaking some of them but it's still not super clear. I was hoping they would offer more clarity on these forms. Some of the double negatives on forms have been simplified but the screen layouts could flow better. I get nervous when smaller, great companies get bought out by larger ones, there's always the fear that cost-cutting might hurt the product. But so far so good with BestCase. Some of the newer add-ons aren't useful for my size office but they are not negatives either.

“Easy to use, quick and simple

Pros

I used this product for about 7 years while working for a bankruptcy attorney. It was shown to me in my first few days on the job and I was amazed at how easy and simple it was to use. I highly recommend it for anyone handling bankruptcies, whether you're an attorney or paralegal. I could even download the program on my home computer and transferring files between my home and office computers was seamless, no delays, no errors. Just smooth sailing.

Cons

Nothing at all. This program has been absolutely fantastic.
