Phone app makes me look brilliant

Pros

It is so simple to understand and the mobile app really makes me look on top of things when I don't have a file in front of me.

Cons

I honestly had to stop and think about this because I haven't come across any downsides.

Clio revolutionized my practice

Pros

Since 2010, Clio has completely changed the way I run my law practice and I honestly wouldn't want to go back. It has exceeded my expectations in so many ways, from case management and document drafting to time tracking and billing. I can also communicate with clients directly inside Clio which keeps everything in one place. Overall it's been a fantastic tool that helps me spend more time practicing law instead of managing admin work.

Cons

I really don't have any major complaints. The only downside I've run into is that once a file is set up with an hourly billing rate, adjusting that rate later isn't very convenient.

Organizes time tracking, invoicing

Pros

Having everything in one place has been fantastic. We've organized our time tracking, invoicing and document management into a single system and getting the team onboarded was simple as well.

Cons

A few features are harder to adjust than I'd prefer and I'd like more flexibility when it comes to customizing fields.

stores personnel details for business clients

Pros

Being able to keep personnel details for business clients in one place, track and log time for each matter and produce a polished-looking invoice in PDF format has been really valuable.

Cons

The Custom Fields interface could use some streamlining.

Powerful practice management tools

Pros

The practice management features have been outstanding and the third-party app integrations are genuinely very useful.

Cons

Getting started was a little challenging though that was partly because our practice isn't set up in a traditional way.

Fair pricing

Pros

I really appreciate that it is reasonably priced and fairly simple to work with. Being able to file emails directly into the matter file is very useful and I also love that my ScanSnap can send scans straight into Clio.

Cons

I'd really like the option to export reports into Excel and to quickly pull up a numbered report showing current open cases. It would also help if I could add someone as a user for access and reporting without having to pay for a full separate license. That would make things much more manageable for support staff, whenever I bring them on especially for helping with client communication and handling mail.

Helped our practice grow

Pros

It has played a huge role in helping our practice move forward. It keeps our cases, clients, billing, trust requests and more well organized and it's given our day-to-day work a much stronger level of structure.

Cons

The one thing I'd still want is better integration between Clio Grow and Clio Manage so I wouldn't need to log in to both separately.

Outlook integration keeps things organized

Pros

I really rely on the Outlook email integration because it helps keep my inbox organized without much effort.

Cons

Billing system doesn't connect with desktop versions of QuickBooks and reconciling everything can get pretty complicated.

Fits my needs

Pros

Running a solo practice with a part-time assistant, Clio fits really well for both of us. We each use different features every day and the whole system is very simple to work with. It keeps practice management simple and manageable.

Cons

The only downside I've noticed is that customer chat can be a bit slow at times.

Customizable intake forms

Pros

Document handling works really well, the intake forms give us much more flexibility to customize them the way we need and the built-in e-signature feature is a big plus.

Cons

The connection between Grow and Manage still isn't as smooth as I'd want. Updates don't automatically carry over from one system to the other.

Pros

It is simple to operate and the support team has been consistently helpful whenever needed. It covers all the core practice management functions well and I also appreciate that it allows a select number of third-party integrations.

Great for invoicing

Pros

Billing and invoice collection work really well in Clio and it also does a very solid job with trust accounting.

Cons

Task management is where it falls short and document management is only fair at best. The interface feels old and clunky too, not ancient like DOS but definitely not modern.

Pros

Keeping up with my time entries and expenses is very simple with this software which makes day-to-day tracking much more manageable.

Cons

The only downside is that navigating anything related to retainers or funds on deposit feels a bit clunky and complex.

This tool is pretty uncomplicated and since it's web-based I can get to it from anywhere as long as I have an internet connection.

Cons

Does everything for us

Pros

From start to finish, Clio Suite has been a complete solution for our firm when it comes to handling client files. It also connects with other business functions which helps everything work together smoothly.

Cons

The only thing I'd like to see improved is having Manage and Grow combined in one place. Needing to switch back and forth between the two or keep two tabs open, can be frustrating at times.

Quick training and fast uploads

Pros

Getting staff up to speed with it doesn't take much time which has been a big plus. The document management is quick and handles large files, like client documents, without a problem. I also appreciate that contact details and key case notes are right on the front page of each matter. Time tracking is very convenient too, with a dedicated start button at the top of every page so you can click it and begin right away.

Cons

it's a little too easy to accidentally hit "esc" and back out of a document upload or a contact entry.
