“Scales well”
Pros
Having used CLIO since 2011, I've really appreciated being able to grow alongside it over the years. It genuinely feels like some of the feedback we've shared has made its way into the product. I also love that it keeps evolving, with updates that make it more practical and functional. At each stage, we've tried to adopt the new tools in our business to organize how we work, boost efficiency and ultimately help us generate more revenue.
Cons
I'd still like to see a way to adjust CLIO Pay so it can be limited to e-check only or let us recover credit card fees without making the client confused about the amount they're supposed to pay on their bill. It would also be helpful to have stronger integration for attaching documents to tasks or trial notices, just to make referencing everything much easier.

Pros
Managing our law firm's files has been really simple especially with everyone working remotely. The platform feels user-friendly and it didn't take long at all for the team to learn how to use it.
Cons
The included e-sign integration, Dropbox Sign, is very glitchy and that can get pretty frustrating.

“Handy integrations”
Pros
Clio has been a one-stop hub for just about everything I need to manage my practice, from time tracking and billing to calendaring and more. The integrations are another big plus especially with apps like LawYaw and Outlook. On top of that, the platform is very user-friendly and simple to work in.
Cons
A few of the billing features still need some work. One thing that bothers me is how client balances keep changing on invoices that have already been sent, depending on payments made afterward.

Pros
It is quite user-friendly and most things are simple to use. Whenever I'm not sure how to do something, there's a huge library of help articles and videos that usually point me in the right direction. And if the answer isn't there, their support team has been absolutely fantastic.
Cons
Some of the calendar and reporting functions still feel a bit limited compared to what I think they should handle. That said there are plenty of add-ons and integrations available if you want to expand the feature set.

“Client billing made manageable”
Pros
Client billing used to be one of the parts I dreaded most but this software has made it much more manageable. Client files are simple to pull up and the billing entry process is clear and simple so there's very little confusion. It really helps keep our billing organized and on schedule.
Cons
The trust account management is still a little difficult to work with.

Pros
The time tracking and client management tools have been really useful and the calendaring feature in Grow is much better than the one in Manage.
Cons
Grow is separate so the sync doesn't feel smooth. It's such a valuable feature that it really shouldn't be tucked away or made this difficult to use.

Pros
Being web-based makes it really convenient to use and I also appreciate that it can recover deleted files. Searching is simple and there's a good amount of customization available which makes the platform more practical day to day.
Cons
I'd still like to see more reporting options especially for tracking time spent by users across project types, cases, clients and similar categories, along with reports on their time entries over specific periods. It would also help if the firm feed were searchable and allowed custom date ranges so data could be pulled for exact timeframes.

Pros
Billing is really simple, the dashboard is a pleasure to use and the setup process was quick and simple.

I'd love to see a OneDrive integration so that when I save a file there, the document in Clio updates automatically.

Pros
One of the best parts of Clio is the mobile app since it lets me log time while I'm away from my desk and quickly pull up client contact information when I need it.
Cons
The accounting side still needs work. I should be able to clearly mark overdue accounts as past due, add interest charges and send reminder emails without hassle but those features just aren't there.

Whether I'm out of town, at the office or working from home, I can still get into the system and handle what I need to. It lets me update files, draft invoices and manage calendar items from basically anywhere which has been really convenient.
Cons
I honestly don't have any real complaints but this is also the first and only software I've used since starting my practice so I don't have much else to compare it to.

Notes and Billing are the parts of Clio I rely on most. I know I am still not using everything the program offers but little by little I'm learning more features and several of them have already been really useful for me and my business.
Cons
There are a few features I wish I could adjust but I haven't been able to figure out how yet. It may be possible, I probably just need a bit more guidance.

Keeping client and matter information organized is where it really shines and the time tracking works very well too. Billing is fairly simple overall although taking retainers by credit card could definitely be better.
Cons
it still doesn't allow retainers to be accepted by credit card into an IOLTA account.
