exceptional smartphone integration

Pros

Billing is very simple to use and the smartphone integration works exceptionally well.

Cons

The calendar does occasionally run into syncing issues with my Apple Calendar.

Superb document automation

Pros

After trying other options, Clio still comes out on top for me. It's simple to learn and quick to put into practice.

Cons

The billing setup does take a bit more time to get configured.

Billing stress completely gone

Pros

Back when we used our old invoicing process, we were building tables in Word documents and typing everything in by hand. End-of-month billing was awful, gave the whole team anxiety and regularly ate up more than five hours of our time. It was a terrible system and now that stress is gone. Clio has honestly been a lifesaver and a huge time saver. We're no longer dreading billing, our clients are very happy with the new setup and the whole office feels much more professional. I'm genuinely so grateful for Clio and can't picture us switching to anything else. Anytime another company contacts us about moving systems, I'm more than happy to tell them no.

Cons

Our office operates in a pretty unusual way so there are a few features I sometimes wish Clio offered that would better fit how we work though it's probably something only our office would need. We also don't use Clio very deeply so I really can't think of many major changes that should be made.

Pros

Getting around it is simple, it's easy to keep track of everything and it really makes the work a lot more manageable.

Cons

I honestly don't have any complaints. Clio works really well for both clients and attorneys.

Pros

Billing, trust accounting, invoicing and time tracking are all excellent.

Task management still needs improvement and Clio Payments really needs refund processing as soon as possible.

this software has been invaluable

Pros

After using it for years, it's hard to picture running my practice without it. There's so much value packed into it that it's difficult to pick just one thing. Having all of my clients' information instantly available, being able to store and pull documents remotely from anywhere and having peace of mind that everything is secure. On top of that, whenever questions come up, the technical support is outstanding. Honestly a big part of the experience is also the people at Clio, the sales team, support staff and even upper management have been some of the nicest professionals I've worked with.

Cons

If I had to point to any downside, it would be that Clio offers so many features and capabilities that I can't imagine ever fully using everything it has available.

Versatile integrations and automation

Pros

It fits in well with a lot of other products and services which has been really useful. It also lets you customize a lot of features to match the way your business operates. The automation tools save time and whenever I've needed help, the customer service team has been supportive.

Cons

One issue that comes up fairly often is trouble accessing the cloud through Clio Desktop and that tends to slow down my practice.

Updated features and custom fields

Pros

Found it user friendly and the platform keeps improving with updated features. The electronic signing works well both internally and with clients and the custom fields feature is something I especially appreciate.

Cons

Some new features take a while to be released. For example, we had to rely on a different platform for texting because Clio didn't offer that option earlier and now that it's available, we're already tied into another contract.

Pros

Right from the start, it has been user-friendly and everyone on our team feels comfortable using it. It covers all of the core features we rely on especially time tracking, document storage, contact and client management and limitation date tracking. On top of that, Clio's customer service has been fantastic every time, responsive, kind and genuinely helpful.

Cons

I don't really have any complaints although I would love to see an option for automatic email reminders about upcoming limitation dates.

Flexible fit for law firms

Pros

It is very user-friendly and fits into just about any legal practice environment without much trouble. It's also simple to train new team members on which makes it especially helpful when your firm is growing and you need to bring others up to speed quickly.

Cons

Some of the features available really should come standard in the base package instead of requiring additional a la carte payments.

Access anywhere, works brilliantly

Pros

Its so simple to handle and being able to access it from anywhere is a huge advantage.

Cons

I honestly don't have any real complaints. If anything, I'd love to see a few more dedicated matter options, like a built-in "priority" setting so matters could be exported or organized with a "priority" column without needing a custom field.

Packs a lot of functionality

Pros

This tool packs in a lot of functionality that fits the needs of a law firm, while still being flexible enough to work well for other types of businesses too. The calendaring and time-tracking tools are simple to use and they make putting together an invoice at the end a very simple process.

Cons

A few of the more advanced features are only available if you move up to a more expensive subscription.

our go-to system for case management

It has become our go-to system for case management, payments, billing and even lead generation and referral tracking. Having all of those tools together in one platform is a huge plus for us. On top of that, their customer service has been outstanding.

Cons

Whenever there's a feature we'd like to see added or improved, we contact them and they're responsive and genuinely seem to consider our feedback for their development team.

Pros

One of the reasons I chose this software was the training videos since they made onboarding much simpler and saved me from spending extra time teaching everyone myself. The support team has also been outstanding and the built-in chat feature makes getting help really quick and convenient.

Cons

My only real wish is that it had more keyboard shortcuts especially for things like the search field.

Manageable law practice

Pros

Clio has been the difference between my practice feeling overwhelming and actually being manageable. I don't have any formal background in business management so having a platform that's accessible to a lawyer is a huge help. It lets me focus more on practicing law instead of spending time digging through accounting records.

Backbone of our practice

Pros

It is the backbone of our practice and keeps everything running efficiently. Having all of our data and information in one place makes it very simple to use day to day. Another huge benefit is how many legal tech tools integrate directly with Clio without any hassle. It has helped us build a more tech-focused law firm and manage far more cases than we originally thought possible.

Solid product

Pros

Overall it's a really solid product and I appreciate that it keeps getting updated and improved. The customer support has been outstanding and the system is simple to use and reliably does what I need. The billing and invoicing features are especially strong, what used to take me a full day or two now only takes a few hours.

Cons

The only thing I'd really want added is a way to create tasks in Clio directly from Outlook.

I'd really like to see an app for Clio Grow and for the platform overall to be a little more user-friendly. Clio Drive also still needs some improvement to work better offline.
