“User-friendly billing”
Pros
The billing side of Clio is very user friendly and simple to work with.
Cons
It still needs a few updates before it can be considered perfect software but it already comes very close to being one of the best.

“easy to get the hang of”
Pros
Coming into this without a legal background, I was surprised by how simple the software was to learn. The firm I joined did not have any onboarding in place so I had to teach myself from scratch. The online resources and responsive customer support made that process feel very manageable. As I learned more, I realized the firm had not set the system up correctly and was barely using the features that make the software so powerful. In just a few months, I was able to build the infrastructure the right way, create an office procedures manual and noticeably improve productivity. In my opinion, this is the best legal case management software available.
Cons
A few enhancements would make it even better. More advanced automation for recurring emails, such as quarterly fee statements, would be very useful. It would also help if Clio offered starter task lists and document templates by case type so firms do not have to build everything from scratch when it is not necessary.

Once you get past the initial learning curve, the platform becomes very simple to use.

At times, it can feel a bit too expansive when you only need basic case management features.

“Excellent customer serivce team”
Pros
Customer service has been excellent, billing is simple to handle and getting to client information is fast and convenient.
Cons
A few forms can't be customized and I've had trouble linking my personal Outlook email to the software. It also looks like I may need to pay for a monthly subscription to use it properly.

“Useful dockettrack connection”
Pros
The integration with DocketTrack for USPTO docketing has been a really valuable part of using Clio.
Cons
DocketTrack integration only works one way so Clio still does not automatically create records from the USPTO or from DocketTrack.

“Good choice for matter and contact management”
Pros
Time tracking and billing are really well handled and the platform also does a solid job with email, matter and contact management.
Cons
We still prefer using OneDrive instead of Clio's built-in document management but the OneDrive integration works very well.

“Accessible on phone”
Pros
Running an active insurance defense practice is much more manageable with this software. It handles everything from time tracking, billing and account reconciliation to the document and case management tools you'd expect for this kind of work. The interface is simple to use and the ability to access it from a tablet or phone really puts Clio ahead of many other options.
Cons
The add-ons definitely add value but they can also push the subscription price up.

“has a lot of features”
Pros
There are a lot of useful features in Clio and the custom fields and document automation are especially valuable.
Cons
The calendar and event links aren't really my favorite. Right now, we're using Acuity and it's connected to Clio.

Handling billing and juggling multiple cases is much more efficient with this. The setup process is simple and it makes it simple to bill clients accurately for the actual work being completed.

Pros
Having everything together in a single place is a huge plus. It makes it simple to take my office with me and keep working wherever I am.
Cons
I'd still love to see more built-in accounting features. It would also help if the Clio Desktop app were more user-friendly.

“constantly improving”
Pros
Running a law practice is challenging enough so having software that keeps getting better really matters. Clio is always improving and it makes day-to-day work as a lawyer much more manageable while also helping support a successful practice.
Cons
Document automation is a limitation since it requires removing all special characters from file names.

“Handy document storage and time tracking”
Pros
Having document storage built in has been really useful and logging docketing time is very simple. It makes tracking my time simple and convenient.
Cons
The calendar feature could be better. I don't like that there's no way to share my available calendar openings with other people.

“Appreciate the ease of use”
Pros
Using it has been very simple and that's the part we appreciate most about it.
Cons
The part we appreciate least is the pricing. Since we use both Grow and Manage, the total cost adds up quickly.

“cloud access across devices”
Pros
Its easy to operate and since it's cloud-based I can get to it from multiple devices without any hassle.
Cons
Right now, the missing integration with Unity and other platforms is a downside. It's also difficult to manage billing when a client has two names.

“Quickbooks integration is a lifesaver”
Pros
Handling time entries, invoicing and billing is really simple. The connected integrations especially with companies like QuickBooks, make the whole process even better.
Cons
Clio Manage doesn't have a built-in way to create signing documents like Clio Grow does so we still need to rely on another program for that. On top of that, building fillable forms is difficult.

“Solo practice powerhouse”
Pros
Launching my solo practice became far more efficient with Clio. Having all the functionality I needed in one platform was incredibly helpful at the beginning and still continues to be valuable now. I can add or remove users depending on how my practice changes which really matters for solo attorneys and startups trying to stay mindful of costs. Clio has been worth every penny and felt like having a whole support team behind me when I was first getting started.
Cons
Honestly there isn't much I dislike about Clio Manage. I'd still love a bit more customization and the option to create organization-wide text snippets to help standardize certain billing tasks. That said in the nearly two years I've used Clio, I've seen updates that addressed earlier frustrations which makes it clear the development team listens to users and keeps improving the software. A good example was the rollout of sending invoices to all recipients in one email which made a big difference for me.
