“great intake and billing tools
Pros
The client intake and document management system works well and the billing tool is easily accessible and great for tracking time.
Cons
As per me the task and messaging tools could be a lot more powerful and the reporting options feel pretty restricted.

“A user friendly interface for organizing
Pros
I really like the user-friendly interface especially for organizing, finding and documenting case matters.
Cons
It is a bit of a hassle that we have to download files to view them instead of them just opening or saving automatically.

“pretty powerful for document tracking
Pros
This practice management system is pretty powerful overall for tracking and organizing documents.
Cons
Well the interface is not the easiest to figure out and the pricing is not really a good fit for smaller firms on a budget.

“A major advantage for management
Pros
Managing time, billing, documents and client communication all within a single platform is a major advantage.
Cons
The cost is a major downside as it is way too pricey and the rates seem to keep increasing.

“poor support and expensive ecosystem
Pros
While Clio is always innovating, they don not hesitate to pass the cost of those new features onto the customer. I mean there is a whole suite of add-ons you have to pay for, which feels like nickel-and-diming. Imagine if Google charged a fee for every software update thats what it's like. So do not trust the advertised price because a fully functional setup with Clio Manage and Grow will be closer to $200 per month and that does not even include Drafting or the AI feature, Duo.
Cons
To me it feels like it is running the show, not the people using it. Some actions are completely permanent once you do them like not even their own developers can reverse it. This makes you incredibly cautious when entering information as one mistake can throw your entire system into disarray. Plus their support is outsourced to call centers, mostly in India, and you immediately get that impersonal I am sorry, sir, but... script. They even refuse to put in extra effort to find creative fixes for problems that many users face. Essentially it operates like a locked-in sales model. They get you to invest time and money into their closed ecosystem which becomes progressively more expensive and harder to leave because all your custom workflows won't transfer to other software. so the long-term financial commitment is massive and it' is worth noting the company is based in Canada with no U.S. offices.

“Easy to use and streamline everything
Pros
I love how easy Clio is to use and how streamlined the platform feels. Everything is laid out in a really clear and logical way.
Cons
The reporting tools were my least favorite part of the platform though it does look like they are actively working to improve them over time.

“Handles all our essential needs!!
Pros
Clio handles all the essentials such as document uploading, e-signatures and a client portal for communication. In short it covers everything we need.
Cons
After some time the service gets pretty expensive once you start adding more user licenses for everyone at the firm.

“Visually appealing and convenient portal
Pros
The user interface is visually appealing and the client portal with messaging is very convenient.
Cons
Trying to work together using the Co Counsel feature just does not function well as sharing documents or adding notes to a file doesn't work properly.

“recommended for law firms!
Pros
I like that it stores all our client information in a single location and includes a shared attorney calendar.
Cons
We could really use more customizable fields. Also it would be great to create different ones to help us search for specific information more easily.

My favorite part is how versatile the program is as you can really customize and build it out to fit your specific needs.

“The best for time tracking!!
Pros
This platform is the best for tracking the time spent on a case and by which team member. Also it is easy to navigate, enter data, personalize messages and send invoices to clients quickly.

“I love it!!
Pros
I love having everything in one place without needing a bunch of extra apps or integrations. I also like that Clio is constantly improving and actually listens to its users.
Cons
It is a hassle to constantly synchronize Grow with Manage and the appointment booking tool does not always reflect the most current events on my calendar.

“Consolidated and easy to read
Pros
Everything is consolidated in one spot and the layout is very easy to read.
Cons
There are a few small bugs like pages failing to reload when you hit the back button. The top calendar also is not great at highlighting All Day matters, so urgent items do not always stand out.

“Simple to use with many options
Pros
It is simple to use and offers so many options, from document storage and client communication to managing trust accounts and more.
Cons
The per-user pricing is quite steep and on top of that, all the charges are calculated and billed in US dollars.

“Very user friendly and simple
Pros
The interface is very user friendly and simple to navigate.
Cons
One thing I noticed is that the task and messaging tools in Clio Manage could be a lot more powerful and the mobile app should really offer all the same features as the main desktop site.
